Father, thank you and yes, it's hard for me to talk about Medjugorje without tearing up. Such a beautiful, holy and faithfilled place that we feel her presence, God's presence and we BELIEVE.

Same for me 1990! When I told my older sister (who had her conversion a year or two before mine through Medjugorje) that I was thinking about returning to the Church, she sent me the book Our Lady Queen of Peace right away. I am a slow reader, but I didn't put it down from the 1st page to the last and the following days I went for a general confession and return to the Sacraments...thank you my dearest Mother for your love in bringing me back to the fold and to your beloved Son, my Lord and my God...

Thank you Fr. Chris. My wife and I just returned from a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. I felt called to visit after hearing many many positive testimonies. While we didn't witness anything supernatural (though one couple in our group did) we did receive several graces from the trip and spiritual direction. It is a place where peace reigns and living ones faith is encouraged - there is daily mass, confession, adoration, and Rosaries, as well as talks and religious concerts. We also met the archbishop who is the Apostolic Visitor. Very saintly man. I would recommend it to anyone who likewise feels called to go.

The fact that people are sending "hateful letters" is very disturbing. No wonder Our Lady, Queen of Peace, is sad. So many of her children do not have peace in their heart.
    Pray for peace.

Yes people shouldn’t say anything hateful especially a priest in good standing but there are a lot of people that are concerned with alleged messages made that seem to go against the teachings of the church.

I was converted 33 years ago to the Catholic Faith, my visit to Medjugorge in 1991, led to my conversion and baptism the following Easter at St. Maria Goretti Church in Scottsdale, Az I actually went to my first confession in Medjugorge, they had rows of Priests available when I was there, thanks be to God.

    Father Chris,
You are much more charitable than I am. What's with these people who troll your presentations looking for a "gotcha" moment. A bit too much false pride out there. Maybe instead of trying to "catch you" in error, we should all get down on our knees and thank God for courageous priests like you. Remember folks, "No priests, no Eucharist."

I had a profound conversion there 16 years ago where God intervened through our Blessed Mother to save my marriage having led a life of promiscuity. She led me out of darkness to Christ transforming me from a lukewarm Catholic to having a zeal for Jesus in the Eucharist. Love the film, “Jesus Thirsts.” She recently called for a nine-day novena to pray for world peace and that struck a chord with me and her 43rd anniversary message saying marriage and family is under attack. It really burns my heart. Repent and return to God.❤

Praying for all the people who send hate filled letters to such a beautiful priest. I was blessed to be on a pilgrimage in Medjugorje with Father Jason. He was Brother Jason at the time and on fire with the love of our Lord. Mary brought me back to the church 27 years ago through Medjugorje, and I have been blessed to go again in recent years. There is such peace there.

Thank you Fr. Chris for sharing this excellent explanation on Medjugorje. I’ve been on a pilgrimage there. I describe it as where Heaven and earth meet. I witnessed a miracle of the sun one evening as a small group of us were descending from Cross Mountain. There were 2 Sisters/nuns with us and they could not look at the sun because it was too bright for them. I starred right at the sun for a good 15 minutes and witnessed the most amazing movements and motions of it but the most beautiful part of this miraculous experience was, is when I witnessed what appeared to be the sun breaking into 2pieces and overlap one another, just as the priests do in the elevation of the Consecrated Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist celebration of Mass. The sisters told me that the outdoor Mass was being celebrated and what I saw coincided with the timing of the elevation of the consecrated Body of Christ. I’m so blessed to have been able to go to Medjugorje. My hope is to go back again.

I gave my “earthly” mother a beautiful send off to Heaven.. in her 101 st year of life! This was the “greatest” miracle.. in my entire life! 😊❤️🌹

    • @carolpalmer5997

So did I. It was not surprising to hear - nothing that God does should surprise us. I am blown away by His Wisdom and Power just in so many 'ordinary' things every day. If we could see all His Greatness, here on Earth, we would not be able to handle it, I am certain.
But Thanks and Praise to our Almighty King and Creator.
I would love to visit Medjugorje - living far away in Australia, on a tiny pension, aged 72, it most probably will not happen. It is therefore good to hear the accounts of others.

    • @lisat.7310
      @lisat.7310 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I don't think that Fr. Alar & that suicidal woman could've had that conversation unless it was a site for supernatural occurrences there in Medjugorge bc what they witnessed can only be classified as a miracle.
👉Otherwise, how do you explain it?
      👉What else could it be?
It seems a perfect place to have a Christian presence ✝️ bc Bosnia 🇧🇦 -Herzegovina was a Christian region ✝️ where it's inhabitants stood firm in their faith, despite the war with the Muslims ☪️ of Croatia 🇭🇷.
It's unfortunate that religious intolerance occured & spilled over into war, breaking up the former Yugoslavia. It would be a relief to see various faiths get along & live peacefully side by side with each other. Everyone can still maintain their own faiths & be permitted by the other faith to do so in both the public & private arenas. This is something to strive for.

Thank you Fr. Alar for sharing that very explanatory letter from Fr. Jason Lewis. It very clearly explains what people need to understand about the reported apparitions in Medjugorje. Just after Fr. Donald Calloway was ordained, I was blessed to bring him to Medjugorje, I do believe as a thank you to Our Lady for his vocation. He asked for permission to bring young Jason Lewis with our group. You are totally right!! There are many fruits of Medjugore, the biggest is vocation to priesthood and religious life. New Orleans, where I live is a very Catholic area and we have quite a few young men who will say that Medjugorje is what brought them to the priesthood. Thank you for that wonderful homily. And thank you Fr. Jason for writing that letter.

I felt compelled to go to that place in 1987, to a communist country, to a place I did not believe there were visions happening, but I just HAD to go. Stayed in old stone home of a villager who didn't speak English. And one day there I was struck by the Holy Spirit and fell down crying, suddenly believing that place and all Catholic teachings absolutely true. I KNEW so. My life since then has been one of growing in love, to be more like our Savior, and bringing others to the pathway. Rusty Reno of First Things magazine once criticized Medjugorje, and I commented on the good fruits. And he saw things differently, and he is now one of my friends.

It was filled with so many wonderful graces and experiences that especially my mother received. She was already a strong woman of faith prior to her first visit and Međugorje only deepened her faith and holy ministries. Father Chris Alar thank you for your insight and inspiration in details for Can Catholics Go to Medjugorje? Explaining the Pilgrimages and Church Approval

Yes. It's so important for people to make sure their faith is truly rooted in Jesus Christ, & believe that He founded the Catholic Church and will carry us through no matter what. Our Lady will continue to intercede for us through the battle. I hope for people to not have their faith resting on Medjugorje. The enemy can sometimes play the long game. It's so important for people, & most especially the clergy, to remember that no matter what, Jesus Christ will not abandon His Church & neither will Our Lady. Grateful for our courageous faithful priests - if we didn't have them serving as they do, we would be without the Holy Sacraments. May Jesus Christ cover all priests with His most Precious Blood.

I am a devout devotee of Our Lady of Fatima. I do not know what to say about Medjugorje. I'm speaking not really of the first apparitions in the 1980s but these continuing apparitions? messages? I guess I will ask Our Lady and the Holy spirit for the wisdom to discern these "private revelations". Fr. Chris' conversation with the Ukrainian woman is hard to refute. Praise be Jesus and Mary

Thank you for this excellent explanation, I have been trying not to internally condemned Medjugorje, but knowing so much information like the first week of apparitions was approved & priest guided pilgrimage have been approved, well that just opened my eyes. To me the seers simply make me uneasy, my personal opinion was that yes the beginning was Mary appearing & again my personal opinion the seers just kept on going with the flow. but I see that through the fruits, Gods graces are there flooding with mercy.

Of course we can. My monsignor who confirmed me in 1991 was a truly precious and holy man of God. We had the visionaries visit several times. We love our Blessed Mother and are loved and protected by her. I never limit the ways God works. He is far beyond what we can comprehend. Deo gratias!

I heard a testimony given by an American priest (I think his name is Fr Tim Dieter). He went to Medjuugorje relatively early on if I remember correctly, as he wanted to see for himself what it is like before talking to his parishioners about it: he knew some of them had been. One day he sat outside the church while Mass was said in the local language inside. While there he realised he could understand what was being said (possibly the homily) - and he didn't speak the language.

I was right. Was not sure if it was from Medjugore. Fr Beards journey was extraordinary in the sense that he was living a life completely faithful to the world and Gods will worked through his dad who suggested Medjugore. I am convinced God was completely involved in Fr Beards calling.

I simply adore the analogy of Medjugorje being Mary's temple. It most certainly is! This wonderful priest's account of the Ukranian/English language barrier being overcome is a supernatural fruit of Medjugorje that I've previously read about. I can't recall the precise details, but did read about one of the visionaries (who had never had an Italian lesson in her life) being able to speak to an Italian audience quite fluently in their mother tongue. I pray we can all join together in helping Our Blessed Mother's immaculate heart triumph 🙏

If you have not gone, I highly recommend it. Our Blessed Mother Mary called a young 17 year old to be a priest after giving us her "Motherly blessing". I can attest that so many conversions of heart, faith increased, there was healings in my group, the priests even had wonderful things to happen, praying with MORE HEART, spiritual GIFTS given and you KNOW within the first 3 days that something is very special about this place and the PEACE that is there and the UNITY that you feel with all the faithful that are there. I've seen and been part of the Good Fruit. Praise God! Thank you Mamma Mary for helping your children and calling many of us there to witness this beautiful and holy place full of faith and the beautiful morning and EVENING programs that they have that focus on our King, the King of Kings, Jesus, and his beautiful Mother Mary, who is OUR Mother and the Queen of Peace. If you go, make sure you are there for Thursday, Friday and Saturday (the blessing of items in AM). May God bless us, enkindle in us the FIRE of his love. Go, you will find peace and stronger FAITH. "In the end, her Immaculate Heart will TRIUMPH." AMEN
