The architectural designing industry is rapidly growing in India and we are heading towards potential career options for an architect. This will increase gradually.
Because we want cheap buildings designed by masons, and engineered by contractors. I don't find employment of engineers, designers and architects to design many things here. That's the reason for poor roads, pavements and even drains etc. Only in multistory buildings, owners are forced to take service from professionals due to fear of collapsing. So they are little better. Gradually rich clients may consider more services from professionals. Another reason is the law. Only a registered doctor can treat patients. Only an LLB can do court proceedings, but there is no such law for engg. So we end up hiring cheapest unqualified people to do the task. Just like a hospital getting its patients treated by nurses to save money.
But the life of upcoming Architects in India is pathetic. They spend five years to complete the course and are paid very less. While the IT students enjoy a very high package
