Hi there. Thanks for the comment. We've just tested this out here to make sure, and it does work. Just make sure that you're clicking only on the wave-form itself and not anywhere else on the clip when you click and drag. If you're still having trouble please contact our Tech Support Team directly here: bit.ly/3H0nG2c . Thanks - Ableton
I am quantizing guitar clips manually by splitting each note, How can I fill the gaps between them and make it seamless with no hickups. In Cubase i think its called time stretch
@@adhamwagdy8990 you can do this using the warp feature. add warp markers, then stretch and move to fill the spaces depending on the warp type you use, the audio will have different characteristics
@@cym634 thanks, I know it's achievable. I just wondered if there was a way to do it smartly like in Cubase. Saw it in a video and it looked super convenient.
Click on just the audio clip in the track that you wish to adjust not the whole track itself, on the bottom left side where is says sample, there is a slider arrow where you can increase or decrease the volume in decibels! If when you click on the audio clip and you have more audio selected than you wish to adjust, right click on the area in the clip where you want the adjustment to stop and select split. This will split the single clip into 2 clips. Hope this helped!
ABleton - WHY did you disable just cut and paste in this arrangement view? Now, I select part of my clip and it's the envelope selection only. NOw I have to split that selection first? WHy are you wrecking the flow of this DAW? WTF?
Is that really all the closer you can look at your audio to slice and dice a clip? It seems extremely imprecise if you need to clip at an exact point and see the audio in a much more zoomed fashion. Its like using Photoshop to edit thumbnails on a contact sheet.
In session view: How do you mute all (or certain) notes in a clip on "track A" while playing live (say the piano) on "track B"? I mean, while keeping pressed a key on my midi controller only. If I realease the key, the clip on A should sound again. The compressor isn't an option, since it will let the notes on A be heard because of the decay of the instrument.
paradroidx I simply offered a work-around solution. I don't work for Ableton. lol, chill. Btw grouping the tracks and automating the volume would only take around 10 total clicks. So why should they spend their resources to add a feature that basically already exists when they could be improving Abletons more advanced features?
+Dust Bunnys Fades has noting to do with automation. He is talking about for example like selecting 200 Kick hits on a track and fading out the tail of all of them by adjusting only one. Or trim them if you will. The point is doing basic editing to multiple clips at once.
Ctrl + Shift + Drag is the actual shortcut. If you go to View and select Info, you ll enable a tab down on the left that will let you know all the applicable shortcuts when you scroll through any Ableton feature
You either export the section, route it into an audio channel to resample it, or you could freeze your midi track and drag the midi clip into an audio track, where it will show up as audio and not a midi note.
How can I slice all tracks in the arrangement view at once? For example I let the recording run during a band session and I need to cut all the audio tracks at the same point.
Is there a way to deactivate the nudge the selection with arrows and use the arrows just to move the marker as in ableton 9 so that one could do fast fade editing?
I must be the only one in the world who has a unique version of Live 10 in which the alt key isn't the modifier for selecting and dragging. It's the ctrl key. Every video I watch about select, dragging, etc, says to use the alt key. But that's not the case for me. It's always ctrl.
I thought I was too dumb using Ableton, but cutting a clip really does takes more than 2 clicks or 2 keys for a short cut 😭😭 Why is there no cutting tool? Damn, that's not the right DAW for me I guess.
Yeah for me it's ctrl on windows instead of alt to duplicate. Also the R key reverses only audio clips not midi so that's something to keep in mind in case you were confused like me.
where the fuck are the clips? they are only visible in session view ONLY if and ONLY if i add a track for them first. But there is nothing that shows up in arrangement view
so you cannot fade fucking midi clips . I have to go use my cheap software to edit my music , this is bullshit , this shit is not user friendly by any means and lacks basic fading lmao
To Scrub thru clip in arrangement view its just HOLD (shift+opt). NOT COMMAND+SHIFT+OPT as he implied in this video. 3:21
Thank you . This was so useful!
I can't get the effect at 3:43 to work on Windows? The video says CTRL + ALT + SHFT, but that isn't working. Anyone know why? Live 10
Is there a shortcut to adjust audio clip volume? 👀
I need this.....
ifs its an audio clip you can reduce volume inside the sample,if its midi you can do it by reducing the velocity - try the velocity midi effect.
or just yse utility, same as clip gain
What is the theme you using? Can you share the numbers for Brightness? Color intensity? Color hue? Please. Thank you
Yeah, good point.... The division lines are very clear in this vid... Vague on my licensed live 10 suite
3:00 I do click ctr + alt + shift but the content doesn't move

Very useful tutorial, thank you!

did you figure it out yet or still having trouble?
Still, i think this feature is not in ableton

Is there a way to lower the volume/waveform of the audio clips without automating the track volume?
Maybe you want the utility tool.
Click on just the audio clip in the track that you wish to adjust not the whole track itself, on the bottom left side where is says sample, there is a slider arrow where you can increase or decrease the volume in decibels! im so confused i just switched over from 9 to 10 and i feel like i have to relearn everything :'(
@@AlexGeerken There are some things in ten that were NOT an improvement.

is it possible to fade multiple clips at once?
No. As of now you can only fade one audio clip at a time.
Jut Jup you could group the tracks together, then enable automation to the group. Set the automation to track volume, and automate it as you like
+Dust Bunnys stop trying to cover for lives lack of common sense. Not hard to add this MUCH REQUESTED FEATURE

Ctrl + Alt + Shift doesnt scrub audio for me, it just moves the entire window.
Turns out you can't be in Automation Mode to do that. (forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=229184)
That's for PC for mac is with command

Try it again BUT point with the mouse over the waveform and to on the top of the clip :)
2:53 is the reverse process going to be destructive? is it going to affect the source file?
yes but you can always undo. and you can reverse a reverse to bring it back to its original state.
lets say one part of my vocal is loud how do i edit that particular part
Can it chop all the slices at once in drum tracks at transients or something?
yes you can, right click slice to midi - puts them all into a drum rack. Or you can drag a sample into simpler and slice by beat.
@@vxd thanx thats great but that wont slice audio clips in the arrangement.. logic has something like this and its very useful.. cheers
How do you get that audio wave type format? All I have are bars of midi clips that I made.
You either export the section, route it into an audio channel to resample it, or you could freeze your midi track and drag the midi clip into an audio track, where it will show up as audio and not a midi note.
But, how do you merge 2 clips together?? I was relying on this video!!
CMD + J. It is called 'consolidate'.
how do i make the track color on the right side grey but the colors of the tracks themselves any color
How can I slice all tracks in the arrangement view at once? For example I let the recording run during a band session and I need to cut all the audio tracks at the same point.
Loop the section, then double click the loop brace, then Ctrl E.
I dont have the solo and record button bar on the right in arrangement view?
check your view settings.
Sweet I needed this
Hello, how normalize audio clips on arrange window? thank you.
1:05 I thaut that was background music 😂😂😂
Sadly, that and the Reverse Clip were the only things I could hear. Without being able to hear the changes, I may as well be reading the manual.
clip sliding only works with warping 'on'.
Is there a way to deactivate the nudge the selection with arrows and use the arrows just to move the marker as in ableton 9 so that one could do fast fade editing?
What I never heard of this. How does any of that work?
ALT and drag is not working to copy clip on PC
THANKS ABLETON!

i would like to edit that in session view or even inside the samplers, not in arrangement view, tbh.
But how to trim audio clip? Or Ableton doesn't have this simplest function?
SLIP MODE: 3:22
I would wanna be way more lrecise then that. why ia wverything in ableton seem so half assed just to make it fastser.
thanks math !
For clip copy .pres not ALT bat CTRL!!!!!
Yeah for me it's ctrl on windows instead of alt to duplicate. Also the R key reverses only audio clips not midi so that's something to keep in mind in case you were confused like me.
HOW DO YOU MUTE AN AUDIO CLIP IN LIVE 9?!
press 0
Mark it and press "0" or right click and choose "mute"
It's just Alt+Shift :)
🙌🏼
thx but a little to short
where the fuck are the clips? they are only visible in session view ONLY if and ONLY if i add a track for them first. But there is nothing that shows up in arrangement view
looks like ableton was throwing it in the samples section under categories. only explains part of my problem

i liked it better editing my shit with cmd x / cmd v and delete. this was wayyyyyyy better
