You're down the bottom end of Raygill on the other side. Used to fish the top end with my late father. I remember one visit and it was howling and hail and rain. Dad was hid behind a rock with my hip flask and i was braving the elements. Best morning I ever had ,with 7 huge rainbows on a brown fluffy lure in short sucession. Always remember that - back in the early 90s! 👍🧵
Thats brilliant 🙂 and your absolutely right about the spot 👍 both me and catherine hope that the video brought back fond memories of you and your late father fishing together 👌😊 well definetly be heading back up there at some point 👍🙂
Great video - I do a lot of fly fishing and want to have a go at pike later on in the year on the Welsh Dee - have you ever thought about pike on the fly? anyhow it was a great watch :) really enjoyed it thank you !!
Hi ian we,re glad you enjoyed the video 🙂 i have fished for pike on the fly yes 👍 ive had a few the best being a mid twenty from menteith in scotland i did a video of it 👍 its in the back issue,s of my video,s from last year if your interested i went through the rod, reel, line and flies 🤝🙂
Hi Sean I went to have a look at Raygill today on the strength of watching this video, I didn’t realise till I got there today that you and Catherine were fishing right at the far end of the reservoir, can I ask how you got round to that spot.
Hi peter its great that this video has inspired you to visit the venue its got some fantastic fish in it we got to that spot by walking past the cafe building then go up to the right through the trees then down to your left you will see the lake in the dip on the left walk round then down best of luck and tight lines 🤞🎣👏🙂
@@luredbyesox thanks for your quick reply Sean and the advice once you get round is it an easy decent it looks a little tricky😂 we also went to have look at Embsay reservoir the water was up and quite windy , finished the day with a look at Kilnsey two ponds won’t call them lakes they are on the small side, Raygill looks the best spot out of the three but sadly no spectators and my wife normally comes for the fresh air and do some knitting , I’ll have to set her up with a rod ,
Im sure if your wife has paid too she can have a little fish then do a bit of sneaky knitting there,s a nice seat round there she could have a rod propped up knitting in hand 👌😊 the desent isnt too bad just take your time theres a little track down to follow 👍🙂
