    • @Carnibee
      @Carnibee ปีที่แล้ว +353

      @@Music_Iz_life ehhhh toxic is a bit much. Jim was in love with someone who was taken, then he tried to move on multiple times. If you’ve ever loved someone who doesn’t love you back, you can do a lot to try to get rid of that feeling, especially when they’re a close friend. It hurts, a lot, all the time. Then, after years of pain, he tries to let go of Pam completely and he just… can’t. Not when Pam is finally available.
      It’s not right at all what he did to Karen, she was an unfortunate victim of his “get over Pam” efforts. But he may have actually liked her as well - they had legitimate chemistry. They were together for what appears to be at less months, if not longer (the entire season 3).
      Is he awful for using her like that, even if it was partially accidentally? Absolutely, he knew he never stopped loving Pam and he definitely pursued Karen as a shield for going back to Scranton. But I do think he didn’t have any feelings for her? No, he had feelings the first time she played a prank on him.

Yes in theory, but he didn't because again the whole point was that he was supposed to be moving on from her, not inviting her back into his relationship. In any case, this is a lesson for people like Karen who get hot & cold feet from their partners, especially women who seem to be the victims more of this. They don't love you. Somebody that is truly & deeply in love with you, enough to actually commit the rest of their lives to you will not hesitate to show it to you. @@ananyaprakash8218 I mean you can't really be friends with someone who's dating the man you love. Pam befriended Karen for disingenous reasons. Some of it was a desire to be closer to Jim, some of it was jealousy over her bf, and a huge part of it was guilt for having been "cold to her for no real reason." We all know the reason but again Pam is in denial & has a hard time being honest with herself about her real feelings just like she did for years with Jim.

    Hindsight is 20/20.
    Honestly, I feel that when Jim said he still had feelings for Pam, Karen should have broke up with him. Not out of spite, but because it was for the best (for all of them). I think she was in that "sunk cost fallacy" where she moved and did all that just to be with him, so she felt she had to fight for him. And Jim, being the guy he is, felt bad and tried to make it work hoping he'd stop loving Pam.

    • @Yahmaha31
      @Yahmaha31 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I agree. I don't think anyone's a bad person out of the three, but I think Karen felt she was too involved to back out, and it turned their relationship into something more forced than what it could've been. In the end, it was better for Jim to wholeheartedly be with Pam, than to halfheartedly be with Karen. That was Karen would also not feel like she's forcing a relationship and keep having doubts about how faithful Jim is.

    • @Notmyname979
      @Notmyname979 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Yahmaha31 Tbh I don't think Karen realized just how deep Jim's love for Pam really went. I think she thought Pam was just another crush and thought over time Jim would get over it. She really thought they were just having a rough patch. Sadly I think a lot of people have a poor understanding of love because they themselves are in and out of casual relationships that they mistake for love, especially in this day & age. Dating has become like a pastime for some people, nobody really dates with intention anymore, they kind of all just go with the flow and take what they can get instead of actually waiting for someone they actively want. That's why they think it can be built over time & that it's not felt the first time you meet someone. That's also why they don't think soulmates or love at first sight exists. They absolutely do & the people that have experienced it will tell you it's real. It's just very rare and happens only once or twice in your life so most people have just not experienced it yet and don't have the patience to stay single until that person comes along. But trust me when you do meet them & you feel it, it's a very distinct & intense feeling & it will linger for a long time, you'll know it can't be anything other than love. Many people who do finally experience this will later go back & realize all the other people in the past were not even close & will actually tell you they were all a waste of time. And if you were to ask them to pick one person out of all the people they've ever been with, they will without a doubt pick that person almost instantly. It sounds very romanticized but it really is much greater than a lot of people realize.

    • @Yahmaha31
      @Yahmaha31 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

When Jim came in and says it's a date, the writer/producer started crying behind the camera... Which made the scene hit Jenna even harder. It had been such a long lead up, and was such an emotionally happy moment for all of the cast/crew when Jim and Pam FINALLY got there ❤

    Unpopular opinion: Pam was very selfish when it came to Jim and Karen’s relationship.
    The guy almost begged her to not marry Roy, he confessed his feelings and accepted that she wasn’t going to leave him. He left Scranton, he started a new life and started a new relationship with a great girl. It was completely unfair for Pam to tell him in front of everyone that he’s the reason she broke up with Roy.

    i just never understood why any of these characters got hate for this story. each of them made choices that were totally understandable and they chose their consequences. jim didn’t use karen to make pam jealous or anything he just tried to move on from pam after her emphasis on friendship in the parking lot talk, when he realized wasn’t getting over her he told karen about his feelings for pam but she chose to stay with him. then the beach talk happened which made karen realize "getting over pam" couldn’t happen in scranton but also made jim realize he was too in love with pam to give up on her. lastly he went back to pam asking for another shot and finally their timing coincided and she said yes. i think jim liked karen but was a bit late to understand it was nowhere near how much he loved pam. in the end karen could’ve been more realistic and not ask for jim to leave pam who he obviously had a deep mutual connection with, jim could’ve been more honest with himself and pam could’ve been more brave to tell him how she felt before his relationship got deeper. in my opinion all their choices while bad, was understandable given their feelings at the time. karen was too hopeful and in love, jim was too heartbroken to ask pam out for the third time and too hopeful that he’d be able to forget her and pam simply couldn’t risk breaking their friendship again and possibly preventing him from being happy with karen.

    Being a good person (Karen) doesn’t make a relationship work, it certainly isn’t enough to make a marriage work. Pam and Jim had amazing chemistry, and they were deep friends who could bond over every moment. They both are responsible enough. Karen wanted to change Jim into a different man. Change his hair, etc… that’s not marriage material. Years of that will lead to resentment. Jim made the right move, Karen wasn’t brave enough to make it herself. She would be a good fit for a man like David or someone who would wanted to be a Vice President of a company or a director. Who cared about styling his hair and wearing nicer suites. She is kind but not right for Jim
