Having Lily and Billie in the same room was not on my bingo card. I'm 31 now and Lily was the first 'grown up' concert I went to when I was 14 and was a super formative artist for me, so having her interview Billie (who I always feel like I'm too old to like) brings me so much joy.
We should hang out dude.... I am 33 and I adore Billie. I have grown up with Britney... Eminem.... Christina.. and I have listen to all 70s 80s stuff as well. This Billie is so special. No shame around being Billie's fan as an adult. Not needed. Art is ageless.
I also love that billie has a team that actually REALLY CARES about her well being. And actually looks out for her. Protects her. Those types are hard to find. I think it's because they know how special Billie is. We need to guard her with our lives.
Very beautiful her family being so present definitely helps. And I would hope after all the celebrity lore that has gone downhill over the years, the people would start to catching on and actually help the artists with their mental health
My absolute soulmate best friend since childhood died when we were 25 in a tragic car accident and to say I was absolutely traumatized by the loss is an understatement- BUT the night she died, I was just crying and crying and couldn’t get to sleep and I was laying in bed trying to sleep and I felt an impression of someone sit on the side of the bed next to me and PHYSICALLY felt a hand push my hair behind my ear in like a comforting way, and my girlfriend at the time was with me and I asked her why she did that and she was asleep had no clue what I was talking about. I knew it was my best friend being there to comfort me and to this day I can still feel her hand putting my hair behind my ear. I was able to sleep after that. I miss her so much. But she’s never left me, not really. 🖤
if anyone hasn't yet, watching Billie's documentary 'The world's a little blurry' gives such a lovely insight into the incredible family support surrounding her
I get what billie is saying about not responding to texts. I believe it’s because we’re not supposed to be so overly bombarded with constant instant communication. It’s really exhausting
i believe in not needing to respond. i believe in nonverbal communication…. if i don’t respond, that is my response and i respect it if some1 does it to me as well
aww Billie talking about having friends again and her happiness was making me cry tears of joy. I'm so happy she finally feels content with the state of her friendships.
I couldn't help but relate to the "find friends" struggle. It's so hard to put myself out there, only to feel like my attempts at genuine connection go unreciprocated. I pour my heart into finding my people, my tribe, but often end up feeling like I'm shouting into the void. The isolation can be crushing. I hope my tribe is out there somewhere, those kindred spirits who will truly see and accept me. I'll keep searching, keep trying, because the thought of finding that sense of belonging is what keeps me going.
Listening to Billie talk about how she didn’t have friends really touched me. To be, quite possibly, the most famous woman alive, with millions of fans, yet so lonely must have been horrendous. Bless her, I’d be her friend, not for any personal gain but to just be able to give her a hug when she needed one. Young people growing up today, with social media that makes the world so loud, really do struggle with isolation more than my day. To hear all those voices but not have them as a part of your life, must be so difficult. I’m glad Billie has a little crew now, the isolation could have very easily destroyed her and she’s far too precious for that to have happened.
My favorite interview with Billy so far. It felt safe and relaxed, a sharing space between three amazing women. This is the type of interview she should be doing more of.
to think that for the past few years I've been idolizing billie for her talent and her fame, and then to find out she was struggling with friendship, something I've always taken for granted... it really makes me remember that she is only human. and I still idolize her, but now it's shifted to be for her talent and her honesty. fame sucks, honestly artists could be so much happier without it
Love this interview so much such a relaxing convo but I’m also shocked that Billie’s friend ghosted her after being her friend for years who in the world would ever 💔

Billie taking it easy for 43 1/2 minutes - its great - I'm wondering where this actually took place - I'm thinking @ BBC in London even though Lily says she lives in the States now (I think I heard that). Very comfortable, relaxed setting for an down to earth conversation. Would love to share my night terror, nighttime paralysis experiences with Billie - so real, I wondered what alternative world/universe I had floated off to - if I hadn't experienced them I wouldn't believe it. Billie could be a Jungian psychoanalyst, almost without going to school for it! She really has a handle (it seems) on the psyche - id, ego, stuff (of course, that's Freud) - for someone 22 yrs. old and "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT" and think of "idontwannabeyouanymore" and "Listen Before I Go" - both written at 15 - that music testifies to INSIGHT and INTUITION.
