For me pally is 5/5 for fun, i love ret paladin, my first char was ret pally back in 2007, and after that i kinda connected with class. Even if people denied me for some groups or raids, i still tryed and had fun. So point is that you guys play what ever you want and what ever makes you happy, the whole point of the game is that we enjoy,people kinda forgot that because of the min maxing hardcore players.

Ya I’m leveling a shaman right now with hopes of going elemental. Class has a lot of flavor. Enhancement seems a like a ton of fun but I’m hearing it just isn’t that good. I don’t mean to be in top 3 dps but is enhancement worth it?
As someone who actually played a protection paladin in BC, warriors were still the go to for MT position. While they obviously lost to pallies in AoE threat, single target was better, and they had more acoidance tools. But what hurt most was Shield Block vs Holy Shield. SB provided 60% block chance for 5 seconds and 2 charges - thus bar some really crappy luck a warrior tank would be reliably uncrushable tanking a raid boss. HS was only 30% block chance - which meant you had to consider every new gear piece really carefully, to make sure you were still uncrushable with HS up.
After 10 years of playing druid, i'm going to try something new. Enhance shaman with BS mace's, or Ret with lionheart. Cannot decide between these two... would play both, but i dont have the time to do that. #hypedfortbc

I'd like to know things like: * PvE viability * How desirable that class/spec is in that role, when compared to the other options for that role. * And overall, how hard will it be to get a 5man/10man/25man slot? * How easy/hard it is to gear up. (Is all my most desired loot going to get prio'd to someone else first?) * How hard is the role to play? How hard is it to master? Will I still get brought along if I'm only able to play okay instead of phenomenally? etc. I know which role that I want to play. But I'm having a hard time picking which class.
It sounds like you've PvE focused, and that you want to be playing a class that's going to be top pick in every dungeon or raid. And it also sounds like you're leaning towards dps, because if you mained a tank or healer, then there will never be a question on whether you're brought in or not. The simple answer is, if you want to be topping the meters as dps and be brought in every single time, then you pick either a hunter or a warlock. The mentality on how easy it is to gear is all dependant on your own drive and how effectively you can get groups together to help assemble all the pieces you need, eg. Beast Lord 4pc for Hunter. For a warlock you would need to ensure you're 300 Tailoring and assemble your Spellstrike + Frozen Shadowweave set as quickly as possible. Both hunter and warlock are simple to play in a raid...press one button all raid long, make sure you pop your trinkets and sync up your drums of battle with your party members. That's basically your answer. If you want to be absolutely at the top of your class, then you do everything possible to be that.
Man, eleshamans dont scale bad because of gear, they scale bad because the stats they get from talents are raw hit and crit, they dont get damage multiplies like warlocks, they dont even scale with curse of elements. While locks can make up for hit and crit on later gear tears, shamans are stuck with lower scaling when it comes to spellpower
Agreed, scaling has to do with class mechanics, not gear. I mean gear doesn't have percentage stats in tbc. Its as if this metagoblin guy doesn't even know basic wow mechanics.
Hey meta, could you make a video showing what classes are good at farming old instances and what level "cap" or what instance that each class can farm up to? I know prot paladins are really good with on hit consecrate but know nothing or anything else for any other class and can't find any information on it. Would love to see a video like that.

This is weird... I don't know if this is because things have evolved on TBC private servers in the mean time but for some classes I don't remember it that way at all. Personally I joined WoW during mid T5 and I joined my first serious, semi-elitist, PvE guilde as a resto shaman when they were already farming T6. ° We had only one melee group that included 3 rogues. They were actually *very* efficient (no glaives), needless to say that on bosses that needed (chain)interrupts we had nothing to worry about. So I'm not sure if the rogue meme is just a early TBC thing but I'm certain that good rogues can easily compete for the top of the metter past T5. ° On the other end you point out that hunters were golden in PvE and frankly our hunters were not that high from what I remember. Some members even taunting (not seriously ofc) about them being here only for misdirection, but since I wasn't playing during the early days of the expansion maybe I missed their time to shine...
Rogue 4 star in pvp? As one guy named Biden would say - Cmon man.. pro rogue nukes anyone.. 5 star together with lock and resto druid no question about that.

Their feral 'bgt' destroys the melee meters whenever he isn't on tanking duty Btw, any feral worth their salt will both tank AND dps. "Just want to be cat" ferals barely exist...
Feral dps is already pretty good in classic. They have consistently been the 3rd best dps spec after Warriors and Rogues (check warcraft logs). The only time they fell behind was in AQ but thats mainly due to it being a bit melee unfriendly and ferals dwell on having maximum uptime where every GCD matters. In TBC, Feral dps will be the best of all melee classes until rogues/warriors get glaives but how many are realistically going to get those?
id go for goat, your job as spriest is to regen mana, spacegoat has extra racial that gives mana to party on low CD, makes you even better support class in PvE. For pvp, choice is yours :)
PvE - Draenei (+1% hit for party members, additional hot, and symbol of hope which restores mana to your party) PvP - Dwarf (you get stoneform, desperate prayer which is an instant heal, and chastise which is a 2 sec stun, hands down the best priest race on the alliance side).

@@Chaylaish If you want to do at least some PvP on the side, I cannot recommend going dwarf enough, it is absolutely the meta in PvP. In terms of PvE, I'm not much of a raider but from what I've seen your race doesn't make that much of a difference playing priest. Knowing the raid mechanics and having the right consumables will be more important. Also from seeing how easy guilds progress on private servers I don't think you will have any trouble finding groups for PvE. I would personally recommend going Dwarf though.

@Eric P if you want to do serious raiding you need this macro especially because even without this macro you basically just mash 1 button, steady shot. The macro helps you with the timing
@Eric P well if you are able to time exactly when to press the steady shot between your auto shots then you will not need the macro but you still only use steady shot and the kill command ability of ur pet whenever it procs i just dont see why it should be more fun to not play with the macro
Id like to point out that Shadow Priest and warlock is a very good 2's comp unless they run into a rogue in 2's also in BGs SP melt faces.... so saying SP is weak in pvp is wrong
If classic mage is anything like the burning crusade mage mage does not have a high skill ceiling I know this because I'm rather s*** at the game and as mage I'm able to do well in dungeons and raids and completely smash people in PvP due to frost and all that stuns and slows and snares and polymorph.
So I play a fire mage I. Classic right now and there’s something that really bothers me about them. Do mages ignites still stack with every other mages and then you have no idea how much damage your actually doing in a raid?
@@BillieSebastian The amount of inflation is absolutely crazy this time around. People in GDKP runs basically prove my point, people bidding 30k gold etc on items. If you bring this amount of gold into TBC right away it will really ruin a ton of systems in the game, especially for newer players/players who aren't sitting on mounds of cash. Items will be extremely overpriced compared to what they were, making static gold farms like dailies completely irrelevant to the point where it's a waste of time (if one primal sells for a couple hundred gold or something similar why waste time doing dailies?) This will basically bring everyone and their dog into open world farming areas completely overpopulating them and forcing everyone to fight over a rather limited amount of resources. And if you don't have epic flyer in these scenarios, GOOD LUCK trying to get anything worthwhile. I really simplified my reasoning here but long story short, it will cause a ton of issues.
@@BillieSebastian People have destroyed the economy by overfarming in Classic. if you allow them to bring their items and gold into TBC, you will see people with flying the first day, crafted gear will be easily made and make content easy, and the AH be practically useless for anyone who doesn't farm gold nonstop
And if its fresh, you will get into the same situation in 1-2 months max. I dont see any real effort to fix farming exploits and simple botting from blizzard.
How is a rogues pve performance 3/5 stars? Are these gamespot type reviews where the average rating is 7/10? The Average here would be 2.5. Rogues should be like 2 stars imo. Beyond your own personal DPS you bring almost nothing. If you didn't have a prot warrior, then you could use improved exposed armor, but that outside of kara that probably won't happen in classic tbc. There's just too many warriors, and they have to go somewhere. They're not all going to reroll. So, it's safe to assume you bring nothing beyond your personal dps, which is basically terrible until very late into the game. In tier 6, your dps will be strong with good gear, but before that, not so much. That said, strong dps in the late game is better than strong dps in the early game. There's also something to be said about stacking your raid too much, and limiting the resources. These two facts have been made abundantly clear in Naxx. We have way too many casters, so not only is our DPS suffering, but the odds that we have to get a naxx wpn is quite low. EDIT: Also Rogues should be 5 stars in pvp. They have a ton of great teams, and they're absolutely dominating. RMP will be top tier 3s. EDIT2: Prot pallies are the best tanks, because dungeons?! What? Dungeons are only a small part of the game. If it takes you an extra 5-10 mins to clear, because you aren't a prot pally, so what? Also, I feel like you have this perception that every dungeon group is 1 frost mage, and 2 locks. Everyone is going to want to run dungeons, and not all of them have amazing aoe dmg.
I am shocked when people say Shamans are good pve healers and they apply this notion to any kind of PVE. How can a healer class, that has only 4 healing spells in his arsenal, outheal a priest, that has 10 - including 4 aoe heals, not dependent on any "luck". Shamans are worst PVE healers when it comes to doing content that's close to group's gear. Group with 62-68 blue gear with Shaman healer will struggle in most heroics because shamans simply can't respond to party damage as priests can. Party taking damage? Spam lesser healing wave. Chain heal is unreliable, party moves. As a priest, you spam prayer of mending, circle of healing, prayer of healing - you also have shield and renew to keep one person up, while you focus on another. Sure, group with tier 4 and tier 5, who wants quick heroic, should bring shaman(or paladin) for buffs, priest would be useless there.
So according to this video Warlocks get 5 stars in PVE and PVP but are less fun because they are essentially a one button class? Hmmm....I seriously thought Mages would have been top PVE and PVP.
Ok so my harcore mates in my guild were telling me how until tier 5, Prot Pallies are total trash, and that Ret is the best until then. Yet you say they're THE BEST TANK because of dungeons?
yes and no. Since classic was a massive success, in terms of Subs, it's logical they are going to release TBC. Also, some moths ago, Blizzard sent a survey to a lot of players in the community with the focus of the survey on "if Classic TBC comes out, how would you like the transition from Classic to TBC to go?". So yeah.....TBC is like confirmed 95%. They are probably going to announce it at Blizzcon this january, with an alpha ready for february, a beta for spring and the game will probably come out in June or something.
I really hate how the talk now is "Warlock" will be my main in BC... I feel like it is a massive bandwagon right now.... So many people going to re roll warlock and realise it isn't for them. Going to make it hard as a warlock main to get into a guild because of this bandwagon. Guess i will have to wait til this fad dies down.

Having no Class be considered less than 3-star really doesn't help differentiate them much. Yes, the balance in TBC is in a pretty good spot, but the presentation here is Eh...
Elemental still isn't good in TBC, although at least it can be brought to a raid. People were dead serious about their dungeon groups back then and wouldn't invite Ele because they were such a cluster in 5 mans. Chain lightning was breaking sheeps, the Fire ele will pull the entire room and they don't bring CC. Do not choose Elemental if you plan on being caster dps, just don't, unless your guild needs 1 Elemental shaman.

War in PvP also gets the Mace spec for more free stuns.

As rogue you just won’t be able to get into a raid group lol.
Go Enhance. You’ll get a group because of Lust, whereas rogues are kind of a dime a dozen and they provide little raid utility

@@cokacola4610 So you would recommend going Dwarf? I alrdy have a lvl 60 Dwarf Priest geared up for leveling in TBC. Just wondering if i would have a easier time getting a raid spot if i tried to level a draenei priest instead.
@@Chaylaish If you want to do at least some PvP on the side, I cannot recommend going dwarf enough, it is absolutely the meta in PvP. In terms of PvE, I'm not much of a raider but from what I've seen your race doesn't make that much of a difference playing priest. Knowing the raid mechanics and having the right consumables will be more important. Also from seeing how easy guilds progress on private servers I don't think you will have any trouble finding groups for PvE. I would personally recommend going Dwarf though.
@@cokacola4610 in terms of PvE, especially minmaxing can get you in a better group, draenei is stirctly better for PvE. Im considering making one as i totally dont care for PvP. So there you have it, weigh which one you prefer more. dreanei stricly for PvE dwarf better for PvP

One thing I noticed is that you said you will hit one button the entire expansion unless they hotfix it. I guess your prediction is that everyone will use the macro? Why shouldn't the macro work? This macro makes hunters top tier dps. And surv hunter are a good like support class
@Eric P if you want to do serious raiding you need this macro especially because even without this macro you basically just mash 1 button, steady shot. The macro helps you with the timing
@Eric P well if you are able to time exactly when to press the steady shot between your auto shots then you will not need the macro but you still only use steady shot and the kill command ability of ur pet whenever it procs i just dont see why it should be more fun to not play with the macro

Id like to point out that Shadow Priest and warlock is a very good 2's comp unless they run into a rogue in 2's also in BGs SP melt faces.... so saying SP is weak in pvp is wrong

If classic mage is anything like the burning crusade mage mage does not have a high skill ceiling I know this because I'm rather s*** at the game and as mage I'm able to do well in dungeons and raids and completely smash people in PvP due to frost and all that stuns and slows and snares and polymorph.
You really undersold pally by totally missing shockadins in pvp. Crazy burst and healing.
So I play a fire mage I. Classic right now and there’s something that really bothers me about them. Do mages ignites still stack with every other mages and then you have no idea how much damage your actually doing in a raid?
No in tbc mages dont stack ignite each mage have their own ignite

@@BillieSebastian The amount of inflation is absolutely crazy this time around. People in GDKP runs basically prove my point, people bidding 30k gold etc on items. If you bring this amount of gold into TBC right away it will really ruin a ton of systems in the game, especially for newer players/players who aren't sitting on mounds of cash.
Items will be extremely overpriced compared to what they were, making static gold farms like dailies completely irrelevant to the point where it's a waste of time (if one primal sells for a couple hundred gold or something similar why waste time doing dailies?)
This will basically bring everyone and their dog into open world farming areas completely overpopulating them and forcing everyone to fight over a rather limited amount of resources. And if you don't have epic flyer in these scenarios, GOOD LUCK trying to get anything worthwhile.
I really simplified my reasoning here but long story short, it will cause a ton of issues.
@@BillieSebastian People have destroyed the economy by overfarming in Classic. if you allow them to bring their items and gold into TBC, you will see people with flying the first day, crafted gear will be easily made and make content easy, and the AH be practically useless for anyone who doesn't farm gold nonstop
And if its fresh, you will get into the same situation in 1-2 months max.
I dont see any real effort to fix farming exploits and simple botting from blizzard.

How is a rogues pve performance 3/5 stars? Are these gamespot type reviews where the average rating is 7/10? The Average here would be 2.5. Rogues should be like 2 stars imo. Beyond your own personal DPS you bring almost nothing. If you didn't have a prot warrior, then you could use improved exposed armor, but that outside of kara that probably won't happen in classic tbc. There's just too many warriors, and they have to go somewhere. They're not all going to reroll.
So, it's safe to assume you bring nothing beyond your personal dps, which is basically terrible until very late into the game. In tier 6, your dps will be strong with good gear, but before that, not so much.
That said, strong dps in the late game is better than strong dps in the early game. There's also something to be said about stacking your raid too much, and limiting the resources. These two facts have been made abundantly clear in Naxx. We have way too many casters, so not only is our DPS suffering, but the odds that we have to get a naxx wpn is quite low.
EDIT: Also Rogues should be 5 stars in pvp. They have a ton of great teams, and they're absolutely dominating. RMP will be top tier 3s.
EDIT2: Prot pallies are the best tanks, because dungeons?! What? Dungeons are only a small part of the game. If it takes you an extra 5-10 mins to clear, because you aren't a prot pally, so what? Also, I feel like you have this perception that every dungeon group is 1 frost mage, and 2 locks. Everyone is going to want to run dungeons, and not all of them have amazing aoe dmg.
I am shocked when people say Shamans are good pve healers and they apply this notion to any kind of PVE. How can a healer class, that has only 4 healing spells in his arsenal, outheal a priest, that has 10 - including 4 aoe heals, not dependent on any "luck". Shamans are worst PVE healers when it comes to doing content that's close to group's gear. Group with 62-68 blue gear with Shaman healer will struggle in most heroics because shamans simply can't respond to party damage as priests can. Party taking damage? Spam lesser healing wave. Chain heal is unreliable, party moves. As a priest, you spam prayer of mending, circle of healing, prayer of healing - you also have shield and renew to keep one person up, while you focus on another. Sure, group with tier 4 and tier 5, who wants quick heroic, should bring shaman(or paladin) for buffs, priest would be useless there.
So according to this video Warlocks get 5 stars in PVE and PVP but are less fun because they are essentially a one button class? Hmmm....I seriously thought Mages would have been top PVE and PVP.

yes and no. Since classic was a massive success, in terms of Subs, it's logical they are going to release TBC. Also, some moths ago, Blizzard sent a survey to a lot of players in the community with the focus of the survey on "if Classic TBC comes out, how would you like the transition from Classic to TBC to go?". So yeah.....TBC is like confirmed 95%. They are probably going to announce it at Blizzcon this january, with an alpha ready for february, a beta for spring and the game will probably come out in June or something.
I really hate how the talk now is "Warlock" will be my main in BC... I feel like it is a massive bandwagon right now.... So many people going to re roll warlock and realise it isn't for them.
Going to make it hard as a warlock main to get into a guild because of this bandwagon. Guess i will have to wait til this fad dies down.

Having no Class be considered less than 3-star really doesn't help differentiate them much. Yes, the balance in TBC is in a pretty good spot, but the presentation here is Eh...
Elemental still isn't good in TBC, although at least it can be brought to a raid. People were dead serious about their dungeon groups back then and wouldn't invite Ele because they were such a cluster in 5 mans. Chain lightning was breaking sheeps, the Fire ele will pull the entire room and they don't bring CC. Do not choose Elemental if you plan on being caster dps, just don't, unless your guild needs 1 Elemental shaman.
