Alcest didnt invent anything, stop saying dumb things over the internet. They are a great band but the real MAKERS of that BLACKGAZE sound are ULVER and AGALLOCH. Alcest are like the Nirvana of Blackgaze. Just like Nirvana that took the sound from old bands like Green River, Soundgarden, Sonic Youth and The Melvins. Nirvana didnt invent anything they just made the perfect formula and made it accessible to the masses

Just paused this to write out that this is best interview with Neige that’s out there. The level of depth to the questions are very much what most fans want to know and what most other interviewers fail to explore. Other interviewers just tend to skim over a lot of this stuff, despite these details being the heart of his concept. He seems very comfortable in this interview, maybe reason for the more in depth answers. Just wanted to say, great job and I’d love to see more of Neige eventually!

I like how Neige can speak English pretty well but he doesn't sing in English just because he can, IMO that would ruin the sound of Alcest if they ever did a full English Spoken Album.

Consider their music is a combination of french and usually sound annunciation, it fits.
They have sung an English song on Shelter, but Neige only provided back vocals for it and Neil Halmstad of Slowdive sang the entire song.
