I use one solid piece of walnut which is readily available local wood in my area. In the Philippines they use a wood call kawayan which is not available in the USA. I carve out it of the solid piece of wood then use two acoustic guitar B strings on then.
@@calebbyerly Thank you sir. Kawayan means "bamboo" in Tagalog. The wood has a lot of purpose because its both flexible and strong. You did a great job in creating one boat lute there.
I want to ask if that was custom made? If so, how did you made it? What are the materials did you use to create it?

My apologies, I meant to write that the name of the wood is called Lawa-an. You can find it in lots of the upper mountainous areas in the Philippines.
