THIS is what she meant when she told Kelly Clarkson she makes it hard for herself live! It’s her vocals for the background harmonies that really show how skilled of a vocalist she is. On the main vocal she’s “being Christina Aguilera,” which is amazing but very much the xtina style of singing that she’s famous for.
Well one, you have to sing a song multiple times in different ways to see what you like or what works. Also, she goes by feel. I’ve noticed that she cant really put into words what she is doing musically, but she knows what she feels, and her feelings influence almost all of her musical decisions. Lastly, while the alternative version was superb, it was probably to high for her to sing live consistently. She even dodged the climax live on the version we heard on the album, because her voice was going through changes at this time.

It had too much that alternative version and the song itself with Xtina powerful vocals really made the perfect song just because of her not choosing the alternative version instead, I like the chosen one, the lyrics are deep and emotions enough for extra vocals to be added up. Like she gave us everything we needed with the chosen interpretation ❤️👌🏽
It’s crazy she has such a underutilized but yet beautiful head voice! I’ve only really heard her use it twice like this, here and in her Oreo commercial
There’s an alternative version of the song and it’s awesome.. I think that a combination between that one and the official one would have been perfect!
alternative sound sounds like something she’d do on stage !! kinda like what she does with the twice ending on the liberation & x tour. id love for her to record stuff like that in the studio, sounds so much more free ❤️
@@ethanys7422 I hope so as well, in these past couple of years I’ve watched Christina closely and she is really experimenting with her sound, dynamics, and delivery. Of course she gets carried away from time to time but she’s honing in on what works for her and what doesn’t. More lows, more high, more precise and creative agility, less high belting and focusing on midrange for dramatic effect, etc. I think she’s making something really spectacular. :)
