However if you take into account the amount of TH-cam travel channels of men in their late 40’s, 50’s and older Gabriel has done extremely well and has earned his great reputation. The most popular travel channels tend to be much younger and it’s all about the flash for attention not really great honest content IMO. All the best and stay safe!

AJ Dude yeah it’s a bunch of different stories from the time he hitchhiked across Europe at 18. Also, traveling through Hawaii/other states in the US as well as India. It’s a good book.
I really miss traveling but I think for me and my situation it’s best that I use this time to continue saving money and put traveling on hold for the foreseeable future. If I were in Gabes position I’d be doing basically the same stuff he’s doing.

I love traveling but I decided not until the pandemic under control because: - limited countries I can visit (I am from the Philippines). - negative PCR/swab test result is required for me to leave the Philippines. The test costs $100 or more. - also, a flight ticket going back home is required. - I travel on a budget. Can't afford to get stuck outside my home country. - high possibility that not everything is open in my desired destination.
Even in the Philippines they are coming down hard on their own country's poor. Also, the other day they announced that people coming and going out of Cebu will soon have to do their transactions cashless(Phils a big cash country) notifying where you are going and for how long. Then you have to wear a bracelet on your arm so they can track you if they want. That is a complete massive change for your country.

Personally I’m not going to chance traveling outside of the UK for fear of sudden lockdown, I honestly don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t get home for a month or more. So I’ll do my traveling through your eyes for the time being 👍

As an an example. We have a lot of guest workers from the Western Balkans in Austria who visit their homeland every summer. Up to a week ago, a COVID19 test was enough for the return trip to Austria. As of this week, an additional quarantine of 14 days is mandatory!
I would totally ignore all comments about Covid . I would change my focus back to the places your at and it beauty. This is not the place to debate safety etc as it’s a loosing battle as people have differing opinions. Use your video as an escape from all the virus news. Just my opinion . It’s all gets to be too much and we need an escape through your travel. . Stay safe !

There are no cross-the-board right answers. You were fortunate to have left the US when you did and now you get to contribute to the livelihoods of people in the places where you go. I'm in Canada and not feeling it's the right time for me to travel so I spend more money on take out from my favorite restaurants and help support them in my way. Yes, we'll get through this. I'm glad you turned comments back on so that you can see the support from many of us and not let the others get to you. They will always be there and if you can let it go, they will only hurt themselves and others who are like them. Do what's right for you and be well.
Your story telling comes to the main conclusion that many countries relies mainly on tourism as its their main source of income and so it's better to keep a balance with taking safety precautions because staying in home is not the solutions.

Good advice but things can change quickly. UK government advised travellers it was safe to visit Spain, today due to spike all those Brits in Spain will need to isolate for two weeks on return!

Latvia just opened its borders to travelers from the UK with no 14 day self isolation. When you were in London you could not travel there but could now. I have a Latvian passport and plan to Riga from the USA after August 15, when Turkish Airlines resumes flights there. As a citizen they will let me in and the worst case scenario is I will have a 14 day self isolation if they get more restrictive.
Pretty bummed because I planned a trip to Spain which fell through. I think it's not a good time to travel however. It's not just me I'm considering, it's the people I come in contact with. Not only on the road, but also when I come back

I studied tourism at community college for some quick grades. It is the worlds largest industry in terms of economics. Was just at Copenhagen airport today, I live near 35 minutes from there, and the biggest difference I saw was a covid testing centre and mandatory mask wearing at the terminals. Otherwise not a huge drop in tourists. Here in Europe the flu numbers are down so much that a lot of countries can carefully open up againt. Youre safer here than in the states for now Gabe so just keep on trucking and hang in there. ♥️ From 🇸🇪

We had a lockdown for a month because country depends on tourism as you said ,so I don't think it s gonna be any more closing. I see you are going to the islands ,I suggest island VIS and Brač,beautiful places.
It seems wrong to enforce that for people who left before the rules changed, but it illustrates one of the risks of traveling right now. They could at least give people a window of five days or so to get back home. People will miss work and important appointments, etc. I read an article of someone saying they will miss a wedding they planned to go to because they'll have to quarantine. The outbreak in Spain isn't that widespread, seems like the UK is overreacting.

I know you feel some responsibility as this is your community but just check when ya got some free time and don't over do it/take negative stuff to heart. Great points well made. The Croatian islands are very quiet out of season, very few non-tourism jobs , they are hoping the few tourists this season will pay for the winter. My stepson in Hvar town who works on a tourist boat has had to take a big pay cut compared with last season.
Hi being following your video and it is now Jan 2021 and the Pandemic since then has gone through 3 round of lockdown and every time it is bad we were clueless and it is very demoralizing but when I look at your video I told myself that hey we are not clueless it is not hopeless there are people like you who provide relief and positivity and you are putting yourself at risk unselfishly. Few weeks ago I stumble upon herald balder and bald and bankrupt and from them I got to you and it has been so rewarding thanks for the share keep well and keep up the good job.

I enjoyed staying in Žuljana a couple of years ago. A quiet village with good opportunities for swimming and hiking. The town of Ston farther on the peninsula offers a very large fortress. Perhaps a candidate to review? Thanks for the videos from Croatia!
you are brave for doing so much international travel during these times. I saw your other video about disabling comments and wanted to say that I totally understood your frustration. You seem like you are taking everything seriously, and if a country is inviting you back in, then why not go and support the local economy. As for me, I have been in Australia on a working holiday and hope to finally travel east coast. We are doing mostly well, but Melbourne is now having a huge outbreak, which shows just how fast things can shift. It is definitely hard to plan, and all I can do is hope for the best. I am also American by the way.

I would not travel at all. Not because of the danger, it's the travel restrictions that could be implemented in the drop of a hat.
A more positive way to look at it is....it will test your ability to learn about yourself adverse conditions...

The outbreak in Spain isn't that widespread, seems like the UK is overreacting.

The Croatian islands are very quiet out of season, very few non-tourism jobs , they are hoping the few tourists this season will pay for the winter. My stepson in Hvar town who works on a tourist boat has had to take a big pay cut compared with last season.

Hi being following your video and it is now Jan 2021 and the Pandemic since then has gone through 3 round of lockdown and every time it is bad we were clueless and it is very demoralizing but when I look at your video I told myself that hey we are not clueless it is not hopeless there are people like you who provide relief and positivity and you are putting yourself at risk unselfishly. Few weeks ago I stumble upon herald balder and bald and bankrupt and from them I got to you and it has been so rewarding thanks for the share keep well and keep up the good job.

Yeah it's happened lots of times, it happened in Vela Luka. A few times a month generally.
I enjoyed staying in Žuljana a couple of years ago. A quiet village with good opportunities for swimming and hiking. The town of Ston farther on the peninsula offers a very large fortress. Perhaps a candidate to review? Thanks for the videos from Croatia!

you are brave for doing so much international travel during these times. I saw your other video about disabling comments and wanted to say that I totally understood your frustration. You seem like you are taking everything seriously, and if a country is inviting you back in, then why not go and support the local economy. As for me, I have been in Australia on a working holiday and hope to finally travel east coast. We are doing mostly well, but Melbourne is now having a huge outbreak, which shows just how fast things can shift. It is definitely hard to plan, and all I can do is hope for the best. I am also American by the way.
