    What camera + optic are you running for spotter's view in the video?

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's my old point and shoot Canon Vixia HF R800 I used to use for everything. It has 32x optical zoom so it works okay for now, best part about it is it's so small and lightweight. I have a 200-600 sigma lens for wildlife photography, but only one e-mount body which we use for our main footage. I'm on a wait list (for months, now) for a ZV E10 which I plan to use as backup or combo with the sigma for spotter. It'll be much heavier though, so not sure how that'll work out at matches.

      @@Womfat Ah, I understand. I wasn't really paying attention in prior videos, but I see that sometimes you're moving the crop of the video and not the actual optic (in this case the camera) on to the target.
      I kind of had it in my head you were running some sort of camera on a spotting optic.

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s right, the camera is just set up to try and capture all the targets and I do the rest in editing.

      @@Womfat Cool. It definitely comes out smoother than if you were panning from target to target with the camera.

    Love the channel man. Keep it up.
    Hey question from aus. I notice you don't adjust parallax much. How is this achieved? Just a good scope or a particular setting or am I way off?

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's quite a few factors that dictate whether I adjust the parallax during a stage. For these longer range rimfire matches, the majority of targets are between 150-250yds. Depending on the scope, some are more or less 'forgiving' and can be set to something in between and work well within those ranges, this is the case with my Minox. I generally set it around 200yd and leave it there. If a stage only has a single target distance, I'll try to adjust it prior to the stage to match, and if the distances between targets is huge (like 50-300), I'll also adjust it.
