A very weak signal QSO at the end. See if you can pull those CW characters out of the mud!

Truly my favorite radio from the early days of my hamming. I was a fool to sell it... (sigh)
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. - Cliff
Thank you Cliff. That was a fun video to make. I was hoping that it might help new C-21 users through tune-up and operation. It is a fun radio with the ugliest side-tone! :-). 73, Jim W6JIM
@@W6JIM True! But it seemed almost futuristic to me at the time. ;-)
That was my first rig - thanks for the memories!
Wish I still had mine
I see many Ten-Tecs on Ebay lately. Looks like a collection is being sold. Take a look :-)
Jim, great video! What an awesome rig. Everything you want to tweak has a knob! Thanks!!!
Thank you Stan. No menus. Can you imagine that in todays radios? No way!
Thanks, Jim. You demonstrated why the C21 is such a keeper. The analog version of the C21 was my Novice rig. Still have it,
John, That is great that you still have your novice rig. And yes, she is a keeper 👍
Very nice TCVR!
Thank you Alex. It is a fun little rig!
Nice rig, Jim. I have the analog version and like it a lot. Not tube rig but still fun. It runs very well on my battery backup and I use it for times when the power grid is doubtful. The overload protection caught me unaware when I first ran into it. I should have read the manual first
Yes Capt. That circuit protection took me by surprise as well. I have a bad habit of blowing up my radios. This one is safe from my mistakes!
@@W6JIM Just a quick idea that someone gave to me. I went out and found a set of output power transistors for the -21. Just in case that power crowbar is a tad slow and something blows, you have a replacement and they are becoming increasingly rare.
Just a thought.
