Canva is a lifesaver. The best thing to witness lately, is finally discovering new stories and new visuals from writers/dreamers who did not develop the skills to bring their ideas to life, now anyone can just tell a story through different perspectives. I believe at some point (hopefully soon) we'll be able to produce full movies from home and via a smartphone.
Sorry I’m actually not weird at all, I use voice dictation I’m not sitting here typing a lot it just looks long-winded because I’m talking, bless you genuinely
Good Day….i just wanted to send you a huge “Thank You”, because there are so many people out there who claim that they can explain how to do this-n-that, but you are actually an amazing teacher. Other videos are either speaking faster than a moving train, or near-yelling the content at us as if volume and speed make it easier to consume information. I have been stuck with the ‘consistency’ problem for a while now and your video was perfectly paced, easy to understand, and contains only what I needed to know in order to move forward. I appreciate you. 🎉😊
Some of us just want to read good comics made by people who have an interesting story to tell. Any technology that allows those stories to get told is fantastic. If an "artist" (in the sense that you are using the term) is making a good product, then they need never fear any technology, because there will always be an audience for them. The hacks, on the other hand, are running scared right now because people who have original ideas but maybe didn't possess the skills can now put their visions out there in the marketplace for people to choose.
@@rilus She's the client, the AI is the "true artist" that made the images. When you commission an artist for a comic, you have to tell them what you want in the panels, what the characters look like, give examples with what is close to your vision and they will create it as close as possible, exactly what the AI is doing. You get copyright for the story while the artist gets copyright for the art.
I've used the idea of a cover artist and author to describe the relationship of AI and AI user / creator. I'm a scifi / thriller / horror author and I come up with very specific ideas for the cover art for my books. I pick a cover artist and describe in words exactly how I want the cover to look. Sometimes I'll even provide them with a short excerpt from the book for additional written words that provides context and visualization. The cover artist then attempts to produce a cover that fits the bill. Usually there will be some back and forth asking them to tweak some things, add or subtract, etc. or even try again from scratch with additional written details to shape the final product. A reroll or remix so to say. The end product is the physical creation of the artist but it is also creation of my mind. The design and ideas present in the cover are from me primarily, not the cover artist. I was the muse directing his or her hand which formed my vision into something tangible and visible. Without my input, the final product would never have existed. It is my creative design and vision brought to life through the artistic work of another. It is a collaborative process and both parties are key in the creation of the final product.
Nice work on this, some helpful tips in here! Let me offer a quick tip, instead of ctrl+v to paste, try the windows button+v This brings up your copy history and you can use the arrows keys to step up and down and then just hit enter to paste. With this little trick you can copy two things in a row and then easily paste one and then the other since they're all stored in the clipboard history.
your videos are so great! have several new projects JUST after after this and your midjourney to 3d scene video! thanks for the video and i'm definitely going to be trying all of this out!
My god... I wasn't trying to build a comic book, but I wanted to use a repeating set of characters. Not only did you just change my midjourney Journey by showing me how how to move midjourney bot to my own server (Sips tea... ahh... that's better), but this tutorial gave me everything else I needed. Legendary video. I've been running through tons of videos for 3 days now (On 2X speed) trying to figure this out. Sending seed to myself is also a game changer. GG OP
Yes, I also am looking to be able to pose a character differently so that I can create different puppets of the same character (in my case werewolves as well as humans) which I can animate in Adobe Character Animator. So far, this seems to be helping me get there.
Thank you very much for explaning how to set up your own server on discord... Finally freed from all the other people's images and the dificulties to find you own between others!
You are awesome! To the point, no blah blah, and most importantly you share the most significant tips immediately instead of turning the info into 30 different videos stingily hoarding all but one wee tip. You're no hoarder, appreciate your giving nature. TLDR: thanks dude you rock :):)
Okay, I watched to whole video and I'm in much better shape now. Thank you. I'm trying to learn and this helped. Great presentation and I'm going to now subscribe after I hit that like button!
This was an interesting video! Thank you for sharing 😊❤ I’d definitely love to hear more about how AI art tools like Midjourney will evolve, and if they will become more useful for illustrating comics. It seems that AI is very good at realistic art styles, but I haven’t seen as many examples of the AI producing well-made comic book style art. Also, in order for the AI to be useful for creating comic scenes, it needs to be effective at doing things like: *1)* Changing the camera angle *2)* Placing characters in specific poses *3)* Posing multiple characters together (e.g., two different characters hugging each other; two characters fighting each other using martial arts, etc.) *4)* Reusing a select few backgrounds in multiple scenes throughout the story (since it’s not only important to repeat the same characters, but also the same backgrounds will often need to repeat too; we also should be able to pose our characters within these backgrounds) *5)* Including fantasy characters in the story, such as humanoid characters with nonhuman characteristics, like blue skin, anthropomorphic traits, a mixture of human & android characteristics in a cyborg character, etc. Since these characters don’t look totally human, I wonder if the AI would struggle to repeat them in different scenes throughout the story. I think these are some of the most important features that would make AI useful for creating comic book scenes. Hopefully, these features will be included in future updates.
Thank you so much for your reply. Yes lots of feature being added every week. I’m sure this will evolve quicker, as it’s a bit of a space race between midjourney and Stable diffusion at the moment. Which means new tools will be coming along almost daily! With what you have listed, stable diffusion would suit this. However, there is a bit more of a learning curve but as it’s open source the development seems to be quicker. You can train it on images, which means a consistent animal/ human can be made to be consistent and made to posed- you just have to train the model on this. I’m actually adding this to my next video !
I can totally relate to you, i have no artistic abilities and limited writing abilities. Such a tutorial helps in saving time on the art side which i can put into improving my writing.
Wow, this is GREAT! You are a TERRIFIC teach, and I'm grateful that I found your videos...Thank you so much, it makes a HUGE difference in my work...Peace. 😎
Thankyou so much! I’m just working on a new video for this week, I’m very excited to what the AI community will do with this one - It helps with posing a consistent character even more 👍👍 Thanks again for your encouraging reply 😁
@@joezar33 it depends on the kind of prompts you give to the AI. It takes sometime to get the right images as you keep trying and hopefully improving the prompts being shared.
Remember the Concept Art Association is fighting to get the regulations started. And people in Congress have acknowledged that this is mass theft of IP and the best result of this will probably be deleting the current (and future, if scraped before regulations) data sets. I know it's super easy to spiral and worry about the future of artists, but check out Karla Ortiz and Steven Zapata, and countless other big names are speaking out - and the current gofundme is getting REALLY close to the goal. Ai bros are just trolls having a blast with their power trip fantasy, and honestly I do hope they allow PUBLIC domain images to be trained on the next ai. That way folk who DONT want to learn to do art can still make their comics, it'll just be in the style of Rembrandt. Who knows, it'll open a whole new genre, but it'll at least have defining boundaries between real artists and prompters having fun without harming living artists. It'll be okay. It's a long road ahead, but I 110% believe we'll get regulations pushed and this data set deleted. Keep making art. :)
Respectfully, I strongly disagree with the art director quip. But the rest of the video was great. Thanks for sharing this. Also, the in painting in Stable Diffusion is free, and works beautifully.
Thank you for this video!!! Exceptionally well done and introduced a lot of new tricks I'd never encountered before. I really appreciate your taking the time to make this and the other videos you've posted!!! Please keep up the good work.
Oh snap. Luv this lady. She gives good advice and reminds me of big suze from Peepshow. An absolute win win As much as i would love to pay assistants to help me make my comic book idea a reality it would end up really expensive. more than ten bucks a month. It would be a lot of work to draw up frame by frame by hand. I would happily pay a monthly fee to use mid journey if it can boost my productivity. I can generate my own illustrations for it to use as reference material. Could this be the miracle I’ve been waiting for to get L Badass no densetsu off the ground?

Great technique and usage of the AI tools! Thank you very much for sharing. It's very interesting.
"You are the Creative Director and the Artist is the algorithm" That sentence hit strong for me and opened my eyes for some reason. Thanks
