@@MaedBetweenthePages I found Raven Boys to sort of ALMOST deliver on too many things… the vibes were almost there, I almost felt connected to the characters, I almost could see the point in the plot… it wasn’t terrible but nothing landed in any kind of notable way? 🤷♀️
I couldn't agree more with you on The Catcher in the Rye. I read it as an adult (I was around 40-ish) and I just wanted to punch that guy. That said I can't say I hate the book. I don't love it but every book that's well writen and makes me feel something (even if it's a visceral hate for the main protagonist) I consider worth reading.
This is great perspective to have! I read it when I was a much younger reader (high school) so the details of the writing have faded only leaving me with my anger hahah
