- It's been a while since I said I was gonna drop this gameplay but here it is !! Bust A Groove 2! The original was so good I had to play two! I may even come back onto this game! Depends on what you guys think, let me know!
Bust a Groove 2 is a 1999 hybrid music fighting video game developed by Metro and published by Enix for the Sony PlayStation and is the sequel to Bust a Groove. The game was originally released in Japan as Bust a Move 2: Dance Tengoku Mix, and was never released in Europe.

I swear, this game might look boring or repetetive. But if you play for a while you'll catch on. Playing this game for the unlockables is especially fun!

Man, i love this game. I always played the japanese version, Bust a Move 2, since there's a lot of removed content in the north american version.
Yeah I realised that myself when I played the Japanese version on the channel. They even had outros and stuff
I grew up playing this series with all of my friends and I still listen to the soundtracks regularly 20 years later, love seeing this series still get some love. :)

If the soundtrack was as good as the original Bust a Groove it'd be widely regarded as a classic. The gameplay is wayyyy improved.

The second game is better then first since in the first you had 2 press X and O at the same time which messed me up most of the time since I played it on a emulator and Kelly and Shorty looked way more mature in the second game It's a shame that Pinky Frida and Gas O never came back in that one it'x explained why Gas O didn't come back but still Pink Frida and Gas O should have been unlockable characters I think Frida and Pinky just moved on to better things if a third bust a groove is ever released (not including dance summit 2001) then hopefully the 3 missing characters come back

@@brandopolo2 I liked the Capoeira theme from the first game, personally. It was fun and infectiously catchy. I couldn't help bobbing along to it. It's also what helped me get really into DDR.
Double Fever Time is very rare and really Cool.

I had this game on PlayStation and played it repeatedly until the disk gave out. I wish they would re-release so it was accessible on modern consoles 😭 I miss it so much. So glad I came across your video, pure nostalgia for me.

I suggest you play the Japanese version of Bust a Move, I don't know why they cut out the backstories in the US version

@@brandopolo2 Late reply, but nope. She's not the only character who has a double fever time. IIRC If both players obtain a high score that's less than 1000 points apart, it can be triggered.

yeaaaaah. My fav game since I was 3 years old(when it was released), and I never stopped playing! Always faithful to my lil cutie Shorty 😍 but I love more characters. I remember I was afraid of Robo Z on the first Bust a Groove ahahah because it became giant on his stage 🤣 I've always waited for someone to challenge but no one I know, knows that game and when I tried to show it to someone, they didn't get the game..... so they didn't like it. The only one is my father, the one who started all of that years ago, he was obsessed! But now he played so much that he doesn't even want to play with me, he's not a real fan as I am, because I never get bored of it. So sad I'll always play alone for the rest of my life lol

The original quality is not so good, but you can improve it by playing through an emulator. I recorded several bust a groove videos with acceptable quality haha

Bust A Groove and Bust A Groove 2 were my two most favorite childhood games. I STILL come back to these soundtracks even now (how I stumbled upon your vid). Extremely slept on and swept under the rug bc of DDR.

Japanese version has endings for the mains and this guy didn't get the top route that ads a secret level anyone interested his name is pander both the level pander are bizarre

@@brandopolo2 get lots of points if you get a fever time in the first 3 you go up to the 2nd level and the the next 2 you end up at the top after beating robo z gold you face off against pander in level 9
@@brandopolo2if you use your attack the R1 button before a solo part happens you can steal the other players solo and boost your points pretty high.

@@brandopolo2 yes, in bust a Move 1 (bust a groove's true name) the songs "I luv Hamburgers" (hamm's theme) and "Power" (strike's theme) are actually censored in the north american version. Also, strike drinks from a metal flask, not a soda can.
The japanese version of bust a move 2 actually has the endings intact, since the north american version took them out. And that 1 guy in red you saw dancing is actually the narrator for the endings. The text is in japanese, but he speaks english, so you won't have any problems understanding.

@@brandopolo2 also, there's a secret boss you missed in 2, a guy called panda. To get to him, you have to get "Fever Time" on all stages.
And in bust a move 1, there's secret moves called "High scoring moves" that each charachter can do during a solo. They give you a big boost.
One of the best games of my childhood, love some songs, both from Hiro, Heat, Tsutomu and others :) catchy asf
