Considering Eastman INVENTED the Wind Ensemble concept, little surprise they still hold to the original form.

@@MysteryAndroclese401 Indeed. So many Universities use the term "Wind Symphony" nowadays because honestly they sometimes "cheat the concept" and have more players.

I played this piece as senior in high school when I was a member of the All-Region Band in 1970. It was very different in the sense that my high school band played pieces that were more traditional. My band director gave me a record album of the Eastman Wind Ensemble and I was totally blown away with the tone quality and sonority of the ensemble as well as how clean they played. The album included Fanfare And Allegro, Symphonic Songs For Band and I believe La Fiesta Mexican. As a soon to be Music Major this album had a profound effect on me.

@@larryward569 All of the Eastman albums had that affect on me. La Fiesta Mexicana sounds a bit better with a larger Band in my opinion but yes....the sonority of the Wind Ensemble is captivating.
