Simpler than I thought it would be. The hard part is getting all the clips undone. I have done this in phones that are sealed shut with adhesive that requires a heat gun to loosen it. This is much easier.
Brilliant! I really didn't want to throw my first Kindle away. Will be interesting to see what I was reading in those days. I've just ordered the new Scribe, which is on a whole different level! But I loved the keyboard on this.
Thank you, sadly I was not able to use the links due to them being to amazon uk but this was very helpful for me to get an old tech working I need for a bedridden sister
Hi like your video! My kindle reader has B008 that battery needs to be replaced. The kindle here is a different. The link for battery is not available. Having a hard time finding battery plus low cost would be great. Thanks
Did you find that the battery performed for a few days? My kindle seems to only last a few hours with a new battery. I may purchase another and try again. I remember these used to last for days!
Wow I lost one of the little aluminium bits thought it went in my tea, but I managed to find it though phew 😅 I thought I might be able to charge the battery up on a power supply but I haven't tried yet...
Hello. I accidentally damaged the screen on my D00901 Amazon Kindle. The battery was working great before that little incident. I purchased a D00901 Amazon Kindle from someone in my neighborhood (that was having battery issues). After a simple battery swap, the replacement unit will not work.....even after the holding the power button for 15 seconds and/or getting the battery fully charged. All I have is the screen message that says my battery is not full. Looking forward to your suggestion(s). Essentially I do not get the reboot cycle. Regards, Peter
Fantastic tutorial. Easy to follow, got my 3rd gen working again after about 8 years of not being used. Thanks a tonne!
Glad it helped!

It should definitely last a lot longer than that especially if it’s a new battery.
Where did you buy the battery?
Amazon is your friend
