So far we have stock axles. 4.88 gears. Keep in mind you have Dana44s and be easy on skinny pedal. We've put about 9k miles on this setup so far. Crawls awesome, very responsive on the road and will almost do wheelies.
Did you end up doing front and rear Currie 60 or just rear. I don’t remember if the Currie is same width and bolt pattern as the 44 and can do that or not kinda like to just put a 60 in the rear of my gladiator and keep the 44 up front both is kinda cost prohibitive lol. 😂
Just the rear for now. Yes the HD60 has the 5x5 bolt pattern so it matches the front. Uses the factory brakes and ABS sensors so basically bolt in. (Did need some driveshaft modification)
I would like to see a non Rubicon model wrangler JK/U to try and do that, with standard D44/D30 config, 3.6/NAG1, no lockers, no sway bar release, okay with an LSD (Trak Lock, Sahara), just curious if it can make it using only 4L to crawl.
@@hoopersoverlandadventures thanks for the info. I also want to run 40’s but I’m undecided between 4.88 or 5.13 gear ratio? Any feedback much appreciated.
4.88s. In my opinion. 5.13 would hinder fuel economy. 4.88s are honestly pretty aggressive. It is very snappy even with the 40s. It gets about 16 if you are nice on the highway under 72. It gets 13mpg at 72 pulling our offroad trailer.
I’ve read the comments and you said 17x9 rims with -12 offset. Did you use wheel spacer on this to not rub? Thanks! Beautiful setup by the way
No wheel spacers. Very minimal rubbing at flex and lock in the front. Some trimming in rear.
What axles upgrades are you running with the 40s we are getting ready too grab bigger rubber and I wanna see what’s working for other folks

We did blow up the rear locker after 20k miles. Upgraded to a Currie 60 and so far so good.

Push the red button, push the red button 🔴 🚀 😂😂
Our red button is disabled. But the function is on our aux switches now.

It can. We had a '12 Sahara with us just didn't get a video on this obstacle.
Bad @$$ Rig man! What are the RPMS at 65,70 & 75 mph? What kind of lift did you go with?? What tires and rim offset???
It has a rock krawler 3.5in xfactor lift. 70mph, it's about 2100ish in 8th.
The wheels are 17x9 -12

You can do it… You can do it…
The big tires, had us scared. We didn't want to break it the first trip out.

They are amazing.
What do you air down to, for this terrain?
We usually run about 8-9psi
Tyre size
40x1350
40 inch tires need 8 lug axles
They're hybrid 60s. So while not 8 lug, they are still 40 spline curries.
What running boards are you using?
Mopar heavy duty rock rails
392
426
For off road...too much motor...too much tire. We found out the hard way.
You certainly need to be mindful that you have forty inch tires on d44s. Skinny pedal can be expensive
Moab Bump anyone?
Sometimes it's all it takes. Sometimes it still doesn't work.
