We are also going to be having a look at a few Canon 5D variants, like the Canon EOS 5DSR and the Canon EOS R5C, to work out where are Canon going to be taking their most popular full frame camera series in the future.

5D IV is a fantastic camera. The R5 is a beast. I own both and have no plan to replace them. Good informative video !
5D Classic was realeased in 2005 and not 2004, first FF was Canon 1Ds and not Canon 1Ds Mark II.

I remember paying over $3,000. for the 5D. I photographed many high school senior graduation portraits with this camera. The Canon colors & files were gorgeous. The 5D markII offered video. I believe the Canon 5D markIII was a real work horse & a game changer for many years.
I got my 5D in 2006 for $2899.95, which was high priced considering the R5 sells for $3499 in 2023. Being an early adopter of any camera is painful. Those with the patience to skip a version may be late to the party, but will have saved thousands of dollar, which they could have invested in lenses. Of course, the tables are now turned one again, and we're faced with dealing with the question of which EF lenses need to be replaced by RF lenses. GLTA.
My Canon D30 DSLR bought in 2000 used CF card and I bought a 5D in 2005 because it was the first affordable full frame DSLR. As well, the 5D Mk II that was purchased in 2008 was still shamefully using the original 5D AF system. 🙂
Great video!!! i would be interested to see that 90MP R5 and cry when they drop the mk2. Hopefully they fix the ibis wobble in the R5ii, id for sure sell mine to upgrade
The old stuff looks fabulous value currently. I’m not worried about mirrorless or big megagpixels but I will buy a minty low count 5D-2 in the next 2 weeks. I really want to try one & play with those RAW files for skin tones & colour.
The old Canons have wonderful colors. I own the 5D mk II

If it was me, I would get a Canon 6D II. But I’m a little biased as I owned a 6D. There great, for almost everything and full frame 👍🏻
