Awesome content, it is good to see more with Xterras, I am tired of only seeing Toyotas or Jeeps. Did that red X with the hefty bumper have any lift at all? Looked barely more than stock height with 285s.
I thought you were only aloud to overland with a Tacoma or a 4 door Rubicon. LOL! You mean other vehicles can go off road?? Summer ain't over get your car, truck or SUV, turn the key and go!!
Such a cool route, we've camped out in the Mojave Desert a few times (it's like a halfway point for when we adventure from Southern AZ to Norcal) but have still not done a proper Mojave Road trip. Hoping to knock that out next year, it always looks so fun. Thanks for sharing your trip, I just subbed so I can get more trip inspiration in the future!
i have a nissan xterra 2012 and its the best thing i have ever owned .... i love it ... i get compliments all the time.. even was an uber driver for awhile and made some money ... hauled two dead deer down a mountain hunting , and got laid a few times in the back also .. camping ... you cant beat this vehicle... my girlfriend says if the world ends she is ditching her kia and jumping in my xterra and we are gone.
you guys should definitely do a collab video or two with @TrailRecon, i know you guys are mainly xterras and they are mainly jeeps but it would be an amazing vid if yall did it
Brad at Trail Recon is a great guy! That's a great idea. We were supposed to get together after SEMA but the schedules didn't line up. Thanks for watching!
This is a awesome video and beautiful xterras, i recently got one and im planning on putting 32s or 33s tires but my question is what kind of lift should i do
I don't off road, however, I am a HUGE fan of old-school body on frame SUV's like Xterras, the old Jeep Cherokees, and 4Runners. Years ago, I had two used Cherokees, one from a rental fleet. Both with about 180,000 miles on them. No major issues with either one. I 'get it' that these are purpose built vehicles however, I'm wondering if the combination of lifts, larger tires (over manufacturer spec), and the abusive nature of rock crawling, driving through hundreds of miles of sand, etc. shortens the life span of these vehicles? In other words, are people who off road, commonly getting +200,000 miles out of their vehicles...………...without having to replace engines or transmissions? I'd love an Xterra, but you just never know how well these purpose built trucks were looked after by their previous owners.
Depending on where you start/finish it is around 130 miles. When we run it we always carry 5 gallons of extra fuel and usually put it in at camp the first night. You MIGHT be able to make it without extra but it isn't worth the chance in our eyes.
It's always interesting to know what others are getting MPG wise. I'm currently getting between 16.5 and 17.5 in my 14 Xterra pro-4x with a 6 speed manual in the rolling hills of PA. Cheers mates and great video Rogue!
I really hope y'all stick to it. I just laugh at overlanders scared of getting their interior dirty. But will ruin the outside shell just to say "look at me, I have tools to steal"
That white Xterra is just kickass
Indeed! Thanks for watching.
Amazing adventure guys! Thanks for sharing it with us!!
Thanks for watching!
Those Xterras are sick! Nice vid, guys
Thank you!
I’m getting a Nissan Xterra this weekend (hopefully) it will be my first ever car and will be stock I’m super excited
Very cool! Good luck with the build. Be sure to check out our xterra walk around videos to get ideas.
I love exterras. I have a 05 Escape. Fairly close. Subbed. Beautiful video.

@thor Bostrom Do not recall on the lift; if it had anything is was only an inch or two. Thanks for watching!
@the two wheel life Ya buddy!
looked like a 2" lift with 285s. That gap looks about the same as a stock X on 265/75s.
This looks awesome! I need to get out there.
Indeed!
Awesome video, guys! Thanks for sharing your trip!
Thanks!
Wish you guys had a hose out there before that mud drys like cement. Good video.
Lol...... so true. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video. Nice scenery, awesome vehicle, and good company!
Thank you! It was a blast.
What a pleasant video. Im so far away from anything like that out in the North East coat.. my dream is to drive my 07/OR out there. some day...
Hope you make it to the southwest sometime, it's awesome!
Nice trip! Bummer the school bus is gone! We’ve got a couple abandoned school busses up her in Nor Nev if you need your fix.
Agreed! Would love to get up that way sometime.
Good video, thanks for sharing ✌
You got it!
Love the video! Keep it up!!!
Thanks for the feedback!
I really wanted to see you hosing off your trucks at the end. lol.
lol.... it tool many sessions to get it all. Thanks for watching!
Glad to see the flag i placed at travelers monument was still there, i heard its gone now.
It's sad if it is being taken down.
What kind of POS would take that down? Some people. Unbelievable.

What front bumper is on the blue xterra?
As we recall that is a Hefty Fabworks bumper.
Any info on the silver tent? Thanks!
store.advancedsheltersystemsinc.com/shiftpod/
Was there any 2wd crossing the water ?
Not the we saw. The bottom is pretty solid so you might be ok if the water was lower.
@@RogueOverland Thanks! My truck is rwd lifted 6 inches with 33" mud terrains . Im going with family, hopefully ill be okay!
Where can I find the front bumper on the blue Xterra?
It’s likely one of these companies:
p-p-engineering.myshopify.com
www.shrockworks.com
heftyfab.com
I like that blue Xterra what year was it and what mods done to it, anyone know?
What are y'all running on the white one. I'm looking to do a budget overland 2nd gen Xterra build. Thank you
It has a Titan Swap which you can get from Nissteclifts.com. Tell them Rogue Overland sent you and they will take care of you.
@@RogueOverland I meant the accessories and lift. But thank you I definitely will check them out
What is the lift size on the yellow xterra?
It’s about 6 inches. Check out the details here:

What year is the nice yellow xterra and specifications on the lift kit and tires?
Alex Molina 2001
@@RogueOverland thank you for sharing
I was wondering, How many miles was the trip also, what was the fuel situation? I know my 2012 Xterra gets 13 mpg and its barely lifted.
Depending on where you start/finish it is around 130 miles. When we run it we always carry 5 gallons of extra fuel and usually put it in at camp the first night. You MIGHT be able to make it without extra but it isn't worth the chance in our eyes.

Did you guys have any trouble with the alternators on the xterras after going through the mud? My OEM alternator died when i went through a mud pit.
No we did not; we do have aftermarket skid plates and bumpers which might help deflect mud away.
I replaced mine 4 months after Soda Lake
anybody cringe at the wheel spin!?, aluminium diff aluminium diff!! whew he made it lol
We did for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nissan pickup???? Model???
Imagine you are talking about the 1st gen Nissan Frontier but give the time in the video and we can confirm.
Don't forget to put your new gloves on while inflating tires. Because you could get dirty
