- HOW TO CUT A LONG TRIM POMPADOUR... One of the haircuts featured on the Schorem DVD, The Classic Pompadour a.k.a. The Long Trim Pompadour a.k.a. Pompadour with Fenders is the opposite of The Razor Faded Pompadour. A classic men's haircut, maybe the most classic of them all, slightly inspired by Elvis Presley and the Pomp Johnny Depp was sporting in Cry Baby... Short back, and crown, long sides and front, a lot of clipper and (blending) scissors over comb techniques. It's not all about skin fades. We groomed this one a bit loosey goosey with our own Reuzel Pomade in the green can... There's a total of 11 haircuts on the DVD that you can check out... While I like tapered backs, the classic pompadour should have longer hair in the back--perhaps with a ducktail. I'd say this is a medium length--not long. Still, it's a very good cut.

everything start to finish, how he trim everything, does he trim over the top lip, does he cut the upside down v part in the middle, how does he do the ends etc
ive been growing for a while it was looking ok but i couldn't do the ends, then last week i cut over the top lip and totally ruined it :-(
there are videos but the are so vague, its your choice, just comb, and do this, no real instruction.

1st one didn't know what a Pompadour was and told me I needed a Salon. Pass
2nd said he did but didn't know who Elvis or James Dean were. Hard Pass
3rd said yes to both and I walked out with a Supercuts Special. Shoulda Passed
Now I need to let this mess grow out and find a real barber

We never use grease. We use pomade which gives a shine and in the 50s they thought it looked like "grease" hence "greasers"
