Replacing original G7 Midland antenna with Midland Flex Antenna (C646.01) for G7/G8/G9 models.

Replacing original G7 Midland antenna with Midland Flex Antenna (C646.01) for G7/G8/G9 models.
Basic electronic fixing skills required, don't do it if you have poor tools or no experience with soldering iron.
1. Turn off your Midland and remove batteries
2. Remove the 4 screws on the back
3. Open slowly. Two thin cables are connected between the two midland shells.
4. Heat and remove the antenna pin using the soldering iron.
WARNING: watch out with the soldering iron. Everything is plastic or electronic components, you may damage things.
5. Clean un the pcb, chinese soldering tin is usually cheap quality.
6. Solder to the pcb the black cental wire from the connector provided.
7. Solder the thin metal pin to "ground"
8. Check connections with multimeter. No short circuits needed between the black wire and the metal pin.
9. Close the chassis with the 4 screws. Watch out, don't forget rubber protections.
10. Insert batteries and check.
