It is interesting that not everyone grows wiser with age. Agreed that ties need to be severed when it causes more irritation and anger than happiness.

Right there with you, sister. I went through a "detox" of sorts a few years ago after allowing myself to get suckered into a toxic romantic relationship. I decided to cut out the people, places and things that were polluting me. I sold my home, downsized into a beautiful 396 sf tiny home and cut some toxic people loose. This year, Im focusing on intention in every aspect of my life and working to get my health back to optimum level. I have one bestie who lives out of state but we talk and text almost daily. We have a trip to the Caribbean planned in May. I have a great job and a sweet cat....what more could I want? Freeing myself from people and things was the best thing I've ever done.

I would add these to the list as well. Unrealistic expectations, regrets, grudges and resentment, fear of change, youthful insecurities, rigid habits, worrying about the future, pleasing everyone, perfectionism and overcommitment. Remember, letting go of certain things is a personal and ongoing process. It's about creating a mindset that promotes well-being, fulfillment, and positive growth as you navigate the different stages of life.

I'd add.............Let go of the desire to be loved, accepted, appreciated by others. Detachment is the gift that keeps on giving and when you expect nothing from other people you'll realise the amazing power inherent in this way of being. No matter anyone says or does, no matter what they dont do or dont say, none of it matters, nothing can throw you when you practice detachment. Trust me this saves so much trouble and drama in your life, its peace, equilibrium and tranquility.

I am happily married, when people ask me what is my secret to a happy marriage i tell them...dont get married. 😂..Marriage is incredibly hard and it takes a certain kind of old school thinking to make it long lasting and fulfilling. You need to be incredibly selfless and patient to have a happy marriage, if my wonderful husband dies tomorrow i will never ever marry again. Heck if i could go back in time to my younger self i would also say do not marry....maybe...unless if i meet my husband again i would marry him again. But no one else. =]

The value in letting go of the need to be liked cannot be overstated.
Currently, people are compromising their personal value system due to the pressure of social media.
Trying to fit in or be liked by people they don't even know.... this ethereal crowd. Group-think pressure.
Breaking free of that is a matter of self-respect.

Getting older, I've started to let go of that fear of missing out and found joy in it instead. It's freeing! Now, I focus more on what I really want to do, not just scrolling through what everyone else is doing online. I make time to unplug and do things I love, like outdoors and creating content. It's all about enjoying the moment and feeling at peace with where I am. Your video really reminded me to appreciate my own path, without worrying about everyone else's. Loved it!

I just subscribed and so far, enjoy your wisdom. I've pretty much lived my life as you suggested. No debt, married 50 years to my sweetheart, great family, no debt (don't believe in it, never did) always lived in my means. Still learning, working and investing. And not because I have to but because I want to. I love life, it's a gift, every minuet and every hour. There are no promises for a tomorrow, I can attest to that. I'm a walking miracle! I can count on one hand who my good friends are and my family are the best people I could ever wish for. I'm fortunate and I thank God every night for it!!

❤ all you wrote I feel the same way. I believe in our Great Creator "God" not worried what others think say everyone to their own. I thank God for everything & more & truly believe "appreciation" is the true key to life as if you appreciate you don't destroy...your life, others or the world. Have it all if you have love. Family to me is everything. I am not worried about who is my friend or not I do what I like 😂 I say mix with positive good beings stay away from toxic their problem. Love life it's great like you say & true gift...we have to run with it make most if it every day & count our blessings 🌟

I would state "Special Days" differently. Don't wait for special days to celebrate, but creating more special days is a way of celebrating. I observe all kinds of little holidays in little ways now. For example, today is the Feast of St. Bridget, one of Ireland's lesser known patron saints, and it's the day I plant vegetable seeds indoors that I'll transplant to the garden on St. Patrick's Day.

I often imagine looking down at humanity (observing) and seeing how people worry about a special drinking cup or some clothing piece someone decided to wear. How silly! We are all vulnerable, mortal creatures. Only 3-4 generations down the line we will be forgotten. Do you know or remember your great grandmother or her grandparents? We are insignificant beings. Don’t take yourself or others so seriously. Focus on making life easier, helping, living…

You are brilliant have a wonderful brain please do not pull yourself down as I can tell that you are a special human being with all you write & way yoy expressed yourself. We all have special gifts don't have to have fancy degrees after our names. Tell yourself "all's well" everything in my life is working out for my (our) highest good, out of this situation only good can come for me (us), I am (we are) safe ❤🤗 Don't feel anyone is above you in anyway you're great. Love yourself, look after yourself. Rise above it all. You could gradually wean yourself off medications I believe if you want to. I feel (have witnessed) some meds given can be detrimental to life especially if they are anti-psychotic ones, even a Counsellor years ago told me this herself. Mind over matter powerful can heal your entire body life yourself. You are stronger than you think. 🙏 💜

Hi, I have a question with regards to your video on back door Roth IRA. I followed the exact steps and was able to add money from my traditional IRA to Roth IRA as you demoed. Now let’s say I need to add money next year as well, do I still have to add it first to traditional IRA and then to Roth IRA? I have a savings account with Vanguard and it allowed me to add money as a transfer to Roth IRA directly with using traditional IRA as an intermediary.

Dude, I really appreciated this video! I get overwhelmed so easy after a weekend trip and then it just sits in the computer and a 🎉 vid might get edited. 😂😂

I've noticed at 40, finally, that not everyone is your friend or looking out for your best interest. I've been burned by lots of new people I thought were new friends but are just out for a quick buck or can even set you up in a big lie to take you down. Trust but verify!

great advice again Tae…. PERFECT example is telling a crApple device user to switch to android…. no matter HOW MUCH you tell them they are WASTING their hard earned money for the new gadget….they have been brain washed by the crApple community…. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️….

I agree about arbitrary deadlines. My relatives, neighbors told me as a teen that I should be married at 25 by hook or by crook 😂 this was early 90s. Good thing reverse psychology works for me. I am now in my 40s, still not married.

It's all about finding your balance. Give and take. But it's never going to be 50/50. It's like a see saw, if it were evenly balanced, no one would get the thrill of the up and down motions😁
