i love how DM hangout with almost all PoE creators, feels like if he was part of the community for years. he was destined to be a PoE player since the beginning
He's probably just proactive about reaching out. It's easy for content creators to get into a rut, and having him around to tell all the old stories to just feels good for everyone. It's good for everyone. There are a bunch of guys getting ready to go heavy into PoE2, and with any luck the base of good podcasts could double. It's been sad times since Baeclast ended.
In regards to the Druid. I think GGG have shown that if they are not 100% satisfied with something in POE 2, they will start from scratch and redo it until it feels right
So, PoE2 takes place 20 years after the first game, but Alva hasn't aged, and seems to be taking you to places far in the past during act 3, letting you fight people from the age when the Vaal were ascendant. Our current understanding is that the playtests and Exilecon demos only included about half of each act they contained. The second Exilecon's demo included pieces of act 4, including an island that was a periodically flooding prototype labyrinth, with Izaro plaques (I think Mathil had the best footage of that). The Hooded One appears at least in act 2 as well, as the "identify all" NPC in town. He likely follows you around like Sin does, which is most likely to trick you into thinking it's him. It is very unlikely that act 6 will be shown to us before the 1.0 launch.
Here's a super secret fact about PoE1, you don't need to go fast. You never did. Here's another super secret fact about PoE2, the people who are fast will be fast there too. If you're the type of player that falls for fomo, this won't change a thing. Doesn't matter how "fast" or "slow" you perceive the game to be, the turbo tryhards will still play it so much faster than the average joe.
Why is Ghazzy talking as if PoE2 is supposed to be a prequel? I was under impression it is a straight up sequel, with the story continuing forward. Like we gonna be visiting Kingsmarch that we just helped to build, no?
I believe they said PoE 2 is set 20 years **after** poe 1. We started Kingsmarch in PoE 1 and they finish building it over the next couple of decades. And I'm 95% sure the Hooded One is Sin, minus a great deal of his divine power (Sirus's destruction of Oriath likely wiped out most of the faith base that maintained the two brothers divinity), though we probably won't find out until act 5-6 are added. The Hooded One claims Oriana stole the Seed when we meet him in act 1, and Sin is the original one that created/acquired the Seed for the Beast in PoE 1, it stands to reason that perhaps the Hooded One is Sin after 20+ years of being mostly powerless. Also the whole "Black and shadowy with glowing blue eyes" thing.
You could well be right. In the cinematic the Count says something like "Watch as the world your kind built is torn down around you". "Your kind" could well be a reference to the gods that we killed in POE1's campaign.
I genuinely hope PoE2s endgame is slower and more methodical combat where each “map” (cause we don’t know yet for certain) takes us 5-10 minutes and is really rewarding.
Oh man, the Izaro voice lines. They are SO GOOD. I even told that to a developer while waiting in line at GamesCom last year. Don't know the name of the developer though, was not one of the well known ones. If they cannot recycle the lines, they should just get Michael Hurst to do something new!
need the option of a toggle (e.g. shift) whereby when you click to move holding shift the character doesnt turn around to face the direction of travel. This way you could still do the mouse to move while blocking etc.
I think minion will be a good easy bet for POE2 to get used to the game with like you guys mentioned the slow down of the game and the combo system having minions to block and distract and your escape roll, its going to be a good system
from what I watch from all the youtubers promoting POE II the slow''er'' play is like a breath of fresh air .. I can see the toon attacking instead of doing RGB flashing caos...
In the latest trailer there is a shot of our character plunging a knife into a giant living heart on top of a pyramid I think that is when you ascend in act 3
It's probably the obvious answer but I'm gonna be trying as many classes as I can, though I'll start by trying out minions, I'm a necromancer at heart :D
The reason i dont craft is because it became unaffordable really quick if your luck is bad. And basically u loose all currency and get nothing in the end. BTW i am playing poe since 2017 pretty regularly.
The trick is not to craft only one thing, I suppose. You can't get unlucky with all of them and it evens out over time. So, maybe the real complaint is that crafting has a better chance to suck if you do it casually. That said, it can be worth it even in small amounts, I haven't played much this league and I needed a fairly specific shield that was fairly expensive. However, what I needed had a pretty good chance to happen with essence slam, so spending just half a divine was enough, even if I was somewhat unlucky it would still be a lot cheaper.
@@raics101 not only crafting sucks if you are not a hardcore grinder, trading too, because to ahve the most amount of online time you have to be online pretty much every day and that actually is the best way to get your items sold if they are not the meta items, if you play casually the chances you sell anything that is not "top tier" is very small.
Crafting is just shit across the board. From trading to the weightings. Like last league they gave us an item editor and it was still bad. This league they gave us the recomb back and you can feel how garbage rolling items is with every click.

Act 4-6 i complete but probably needs more polish before testing. I think they might hold back act 6 until 1.0 launch tho in 6-12 months. I think a lot of content will be added at a rapid pace after the beta has launched. No point in having something in for testing if its not ready for testing yet

I'm pretty sure they said that early access time will be a collection of several mini leagues with new content. So I'm confident there will be enough to do until next PoE1 league
Played ff14. Used controller for it. You are being disingenuous here. It works because there's some really long cooldowns on certain things and because it relies on combo chains which has you press certain buttons less often compared to spammy skills. Also only works because you have time to swap inputs as the global cooldown is extremely slow at 2.5 seconds, which also is the reason why healing with controller works so well. You have enough time to tab target through teammates. Poe is not that
I just hope that all of you that are streamers find some balance between this is your livelihood (fair enough) and is POE2 actually good. If it's just intentionally slower, grindier, and less fun, please just say that. I'm really worried this will suck. I will play it and try it out, but their development mentality seems to be deleting everything I like about POE1 but I haven't been able to play it.
@@alexdicicco5230 I appreciate the sentiment, but no I don't. They delayed it until next year solely to focus on their launch. They have proven that they do not tell the truth for why they do things, and the obvious reason why there is no POE1 league is that they are focussed on POE 2.
Its great, no more spam one button kill all the screen before you even see anything while waiting for a sound to play with a rainbow tag to click on. Might be because of WASD movement. Maybe Bear looked really weird moving around.
Having to completely redo a rig and animations would definitely delay something.

Being able to slowly go through the game like a tourist is going to be so fun without the need to go fast.
