The joke was just that he was trying to let Marty Jannetty down easy, but Marty had called over all his friends and family to celebrate his new job, and a very talkative HBK took the phone and was going on and on with Kenny about faith and hunting and coaching at NXT. I don't know that they have any real relationship or not, and it definitely wasn't an actual phone call.

He didn’t resign with ROH. His contract was for a year longer then the rest of them which met he had to stay at ROH for another year. Its now expired however and a villian will be all elite in no time.

Dude, they’ve been averaging around 700k-900k viewers for a while, that’s way above 500k, and also TNT are very happy with their numbers, so much so that they just re-signed them for 2 more years.
It’s ok if you haven’t liked the product, that’s fine, but AEW has been an undeniable success regardless of personal opinion.
Leva Bates should be the Arch-Villain behind several different evil stables. She's angry because she was the first librarian, and then this Avalon character comes in and ruins all of her plans by playing the same shtick. Her bubbly character and blue hair hides a white-hot ball of resentment towards the company and The Elite, and her book leanin' provides her with a tremendous capacity for manipulation.
Or you know, maybe something less grand. Mostly I just think she could do a really good villain and I hope we get to see that soon.
Red Eyed Villain - If they weren’t a success TNT would’ve never resigned them through til 2023. Simple as that. They (TNT) expected low numbers for this company and so far they’ve far exceeded expectations in TNTs eyes.
@Red Eyed Villain Success is $175m for a few more years, apparently USA paid 60m for NXT. They've sold out several events and PPVs which WWE struggles to do. NXT on USA is reportedly $30m per year, so in comparison, they're doing very well. I'm not sure how owning a business would be a bad thing with those numbers, TNT have loved AEW, that is a success for a show. In a climate where most non-reality / sport shows struggle to keep over a million - 2 million viewers on TNT, that is very good. They're one or two really good stories away from even better numbers.
