The Boulder was gonna be voiced by Dwayne Johnson however due to scheduling conflicts they had Mick Foley who played Mankind/Cactus Jack and was one of The Rock’s biggest opponents and partners instead voices him.

And the show doesn’t say so anywhere in the series, but Toph can sense any piece of earth even if it’s in the air, which is how she knew where the flying rocks and guy on the rope were.
Well, the guy on the rope was yelling pretty loud. It didn't take special earthbending senses to figure out where he was

The main issue for Toph's parents was that they afraid to be ashamed that people knowing their daughter blind, not fitting their expectations. No matter how great her skill is, her blindness still the focus of her parents to not even reveal to the world that they actually have a child. Shame on them.
My blind ex-girlfriend actually used to practice praying mantis style kung fu from a young age (which is the style of martial arts does vs. the traditional Hung-gar). It goes to say, Toph was her favorite character.

Since you mentioned it in the intro Kysohi was the longest lived Avatar at 230 (also longest confirmed lived human). There are books about Kyoshi that I haven't read but I've heard explain, at least somewhat, how she was able to live so long.
Yeah the books explain it but her age being so crazy long was because of an error the show made. It came from the leader of Kyoshi Island when he talked about how long ago she was born. They realized that they made her birthday too far in the past since she was only the Avatar before Roku but it was too late to change it.

Toph Beifong...the most powerful earthbender in all the land ! Her blindness kinda gives her a strange advantage cause earthbending is mostly controlling gravity of earth material, but she also have echolocation seeing even more details in the way the earth is build...meaning she wasted very little material in her moves and knows all that touch the earth ! Her only weakness is what's in the air...
She can sense earth that is in the air but other elements and objects she cannot.
I think bumi was more powerful, but toph is more skilled
@@patricktorres1292 Bumi has the experience to back up his power. Toph is young but as seen in this episode earthbending came very naturally to her. Being able to "see" the earthbending about to transpire gives her an overall advantage to defense. As far as power goes Bumi definitely has the advantage. However if they both fought I believe Toph would still win.

Bumi has more raw power and strength. Dude could possibly move a small mountain if he wanted to. Earthbending also seems to take physical strength; Bumi seems to struggle with lifting huge rocks. Toph being a 12 year old girl has very little in terms of physical strength, but more than makes up for it with raw skill and learning how to actually listen and feel the earth, just like Bumi has, but being blind has increased her other senses, surpassing Bumi's abilites. I don't think Bumi could ever EVER defeat Toph.... She is just too skilled to lose, but Toph will NEVER be able to move the sheer amount of earth that Bumi can.

In regard to Fire Nation Man, the Fire Nation has colonies in the Earth Kingdom, and there are mixed heritage Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation families that consider themselves Fire Nation citizens. So there are Earthbenders in that mix as well.
In this instance I don't think it's so much him being necessarily from the colonies, but given Earth Rumble 6 is WWE, Fire Nation Man is essentially a Heel.

Toph is my favorite character
Toph is extremely powerful because she uses a bending style more like the original way of earth bending. Her connection to the earth is way higher than other benders.
If you've ever driven a manual transmission vehicle vs a automatic you know the connection to the car and road is way closer. That's why I find it more fun to drive stick.
