    Your build videos have come in extremely handy for me! I have no doubts that I'll be able to keep my 959b in better running order than what it came out of the box with all of your amazing videos! Thank you very much.

      @@myaspire5750 Hi Chris! My friend explains it very well here: th-cam.com/video/bRGQMO_GsnY/w-d-xo.html

      @@NordicRC ah ha! thank you very much, now i know! i wrongly thought it may be something to do with screwing the screw down till it was tight, and then backing it out slightly to not damage the plastic! Oh well, if unsure, just ask i guess! Thanks again!

    Ahh, the most essential upgrade for any RC fitted with bushings. Unless you intend to permanently run the buggy underwater hehe! Nicely done my friend! :)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, exactly, since I am not really gonna run this in water or rain the bushings might as well get replaced. I am also not too sure what I think of this system providing cars with internal ball bearings and bushing for the wheel axles. Tamiya has done it with a few models (like the DF-02) and Traxxas does it with all their entry-level models like the Stampede XL-5 I think. The general idea is good, bushings are sort of maintenance-free and if one decides to switch them out an upgrade to full ball bearings is easy, cheap and quick´, only having to do the ones with easy access. But I keep thinking that even a completely ceased and locked ball bearing will do just as well as a bushing. Or maybe even better, since these brass or whatever bushings tend to get worn really really fast (faster than the Tamiya plastic ones in my experience).

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NordicRC Good point, Mikael. A ceased stainless steel bearing will probably last longer than a brass bushing. At least when a plastic bushing overheats, it lubricates the shaft with melted plastic and then can cool again - the brass just erodes! Hope your weekend is good my friend :-)

    Brilliant video, been looking for something really clear on how to upgrade the A959B and I'm gunna watch everything you have as it's by far the best on YT. Had my A959B for a few weeks now and have done some light mods like uprated alloy suspension arm and better shocks but want to do wheel bearings next along with new axles and 12mm hex nuts so I have more wheel options.

    Verry late i know 👀, but you the first one i see who back threads a screw before turning it in 👌, its something i do every time for as long as i can remember knowing that just turning it in will strip the plastick threads, i turn it backwads lightly first till it clicks into place and then proceed to turn it in, and its verry important to use the correct fitting screwdriver too and try avoiding the stupid little screwdrivers that come with most cars these days 👍, ive seen many things destroyed because of wrong methods and incorrect tools and it can end up pretty costly and a bad rc experience to have to replace parts because of stupidity lol, good job here bro ✌

    • @NordicRC

      Yeah, don’t plan on running this in mud and rain so it night as well get fully ball raced. Just checked my A959-B and it shows a lot of wear and tear with those bushings. Don’t know if it’s the bushings or wheel axles or both but these buggies are just way too fast for bushings.

      rc trailcats Just checked my A959-B and it shows a lot of wear and tear in the bushings/wheel axle area. So it will probably increase durability with bearings (and add a tiny speed/run time too).

    hi there, thanks for the great video. a few questions, if i tighten the wheel screws they seem to be stuck? i have to loosen them so that they can run freely? is that normal or have i mounted something wrongly? another offtopic question. if i buy a brushless motor with an esc do i also have to replace the transmitter for it to work? thank you.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Thanks a lot for watching. If I remember correctly the wheel axles on these are a little bit short, so yeah, the wheels could bind. On some models they do that, on others not. But it’s hard for me to remember which. And yes, it comes stock with an ESC with integrated receiver. So if you change the ESC you would have to change the receiver (and transmitter too). And you would probably also have to change the servo, as the stock one is a five-wire and most stand alone receivers use 3-wire. Apart from the motor, it’s kinda a ‘all or nothing’ set up, if you want to change one Electric unit. The down side of these cheap small models 😏

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Too long ago since I worked on these cars. But it should be clear in the video. The car got internal bearings in the drive line. So all one need is actually the wheel ball bearings.

  • @stepbackjack4194
    @stepbackjack4194 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What do you mean by back thread screw?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When removing selftapping screws, one needs to back thread the screw when screwing it back. The first time it has made a thread, a groove into the plastic, and the second time one needs to find the old thread/groove. Just turn it counter clockwise in the beginning, let it ‘fall’ into the old thread/groove, and then screw it back on.

    • @stepbackjack4194
      @stepbackjack4194 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NordicRC Apparently I have been doing this ‘fall’ into the old thread/groove, without knowing it's proper name. High five!

      Where is the fun in that? ;-) And I am just testing out parts from Banggood. Not really buying anything. And hoping it will provide some useful information for WLToys enthusiasts out there. But yes, upgrading cheap cars is from one perspective very silly. From another perspective a lot of cheap fun. And I don't think a drive line without a complete car would perform very good ;-)

      To found the entire metal a959 without electronics for $180. I agree I’m in the process of building one myself. when I’m done I think I’ll have the original left over to play with also. But without buying the a959b I wouldn’t have been inspired to even build the current one,so I completely get it!
