He's also huge on western music, which is why alot of the characters and abilities in the show are named after bands, artists, albums, etc. fun fact as well, street fighters art style was inspired by jojo.
Its also worth mentioning that Araki is also a really weird dude, in a good way. Everything I've read about him is so strange. He used to think that all cartoon artists had guns in their basements. He's 63 years old and loves ding-dong-ditching. He once answered the door, saw a neighbor he didn't know, went "ah! a stranger!" and promptly shut the door on them (then had his wife answer the door). He once said that jotaro's hat is a part of his body. He might have predicted 9/11. He said that the reason his main characters have thick eyebrows is because "thin eyebrows look gross." His face does not age. He's afraid of bugs, but only when they're indoors (seeing them outside is fine but if they're in his workplace or in his house, he screams). I love him.

I'd like to say that there are only 2 times that a stand ability repeats. They are as follows Jonathans stand and hermit purple And the world and star platinum. The list of repeating stand abilities does not include the reintroduction of certain stands in the steel ball run universe

How insane would it be if araki just decided to give everyone with a speaking line the nickname "jojo". Different first and last names of course, but all "jojo"s
Don't forget Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer). Their "Breathing" is quite literally just Hamon (Ripple). Even the plot is more or less similar to Phantom Blood. A head Vampire (Demon) creating more minions (zombies/demons), all to seek world domination and overcoming the sun (Battle Tendency's Kars).
26:20: specifically for the third version of Traitors Requiem (39:07)..... I and collectively most of the fanbase at this point, lost their shit. They'd delayed releasing the final couple of episodes for a month, seemed a bit weird, but looking back on it I swear it was just so they could add that third variant of the intro. I remember it vividly because I was at a convention at the time, and I publicly flipped out.... along with a couple of other people when I was like 'did you see this shit?!' So yeah.... it happens. The final version of the 7th opening(Great Days) was also done by them and the people who did the other openings in between the 2: Jun Shirota, Taisuke Wada, Jeity, Tatsu Hoshino, Karen Aoki, Daisuke Hasegawa, who together with the JO☆STARS get referred to as JO☆UNITED

The Stone Ocean OPs hurt me so much, but SO damn good.😂 The return to the OG psuedo 3D art style used for the Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, and Stardust Crusaders Openings may not seem like much, but as someone that was watching these as they came out with little to no rewatches in between seasons? Bro. THE NOSTALGIA.😂 Phantom Blood came out in like... 2012 or some shit. Dawg, I WAS 12 AND IN *MIDDLE SCHOOL* when I started this series! I'm going to be 23 next month. This show has been with me FOR PRETTY MUCH HALF OF MY LIFE! I am WEAK to this level of nostalgia! It doesn't stop with just the art style of the OPs. I haven't caught all of them, but I've been told there's call backs to EVERY OP before the Stone Ocean OPs within the Stone Ocean OPs. And one of them I'm bout to talk about is probably one of the BEST call backs EVER DONE IN ANYTHING EVER. In the Phantom Blood OP, the first thing we see is a Manga panel of Jolyne Joestar, the main character of Stone Ocean, and then it rapidly flips through Manga Panels all the other past JoJos throughout the series until arriving at the FIRST JoJo, Johnathan Joestar, who is the MC for Phantom Blood. In Stone Ocean Opening 2, Heaven's Falling Down, during the change up, you see Manga panels flipping from Jonathan, forward through all the JoJos that have come after him. And it stops on Jolyne. It is... Quite literally, the BIGGEST blast of nostalgia I have EVER felt in my life. I'm not even a manga reader, but I just know that scene probably hit them like a shit load of bricks too. Scenes like that, moments like that... Genuinely prove to me that anime will always be better than manga when the creators pour in enough love, passion, and care into what they're making. Some people are gonna take that as me saying manga is bad, but no. Manga is amazing in it's own right, and has a level of consistent art quality and what not that anime can never match due to the nature of what anime is. Likewise, anime can do absolutely phenomenal things, like what I have just mentioned, that mangas just... Can't. Because to make moments like that truly hit, you need the right animation, soundtrack, and the like which pure manga and even fan edits of a given manga simply can't deliver. It's a flaw of the medium, and it makes both forms of the story so much more beautiful than they would be if we could have everything from a single medium.
Hi! I found your channel through these reactions and I would love to see you react to the actual series! One of the few reacters to these op that really gets the mood, vibe and coolness of this show. It is very deep and comic on some way, but you see the vibe immediately. And yes, the variations are really cool and shocking, since they put them into the ongoing series just for the latest episodes!
4 months late but I'm so glad you're watching the show now. Don't apologize for the pausing, you had more than a reaction to these openings -- you had a real experience. Now you get the full experience with context!
Welcome to Part 4, when Araki finally found his own art style and left his and JoJo's Fist of the North Star roots behind forever. Each Part has its own JoJo... and sometimes an old JoJo comes back after he's had his time in the spotlight.
Something not a lot of people notices about the time freezing variant of the opening 4, is that the credits also freeze on the air lol. Also, there are other variants of every opening but with sound effects, usually reserved for the very last chapter of every season iirc.
Dude you are like one of the most observant people I have ever seen reacting to this and you're getting really really close with so many predictions and assumptions! Good job
Every part of JoJo's has a new main character and a cast of characters. All JoJo's are related to each other in one way or another. Previous JoJo's can show up in later parts where they are supporting characters.
JoJo is a nickname, and more or less it's how most of the protagonists are referred to in every part of the series, save maybe the fifth protagonist Girono Giovanni , and are members of the Joestar family, whose members and extended family , and their allies are drawn into fights against supernatural and paranormal evil throughout generations of their line . The spirits you see besides them are called Stands and are introduced in the third part, they are basically psychic avatars that reflects the user's soul , and vary in size, power and effect.
I'm not sure about the music tho... Persona has been out for decades the first time Jojo has ost or songs. While persona was inspired by jojo it was the manga version jojo. No songs. By the time Jojo has it own animation persona4 was out for a few years

So basically the alternate opening is reserved for when the main antagonist reveals his stand power (the ones you called pokemon) and they usually have something to do with the stand for example (SPOILERS AHEAD) The firs one with a variant shows Dio(the blonde dude) stopping time which is his Stand called THE WORLD's ability, that's why right before he freezes,he shouts "ZA WARUDO" which is japanese pronunciation for the world

I love this reaction to the jojo openings! This is the only video of all the jjba ops where the little details are noticed and I LOVE IT!!! I appreciate that you paused all of those times, Thank you.
8:46 To answer your question about the 'character behind them', they are 'Stands', and its the power system they use second season onwards! To summarize, they are manifestations of the characters fighting spirit, and usually have a weird or situational ability that characters have to use to their advantage! Think like personas, but there are NO duplicates unless in VERY specific circumstances; each one is different and has different powers, which keeps every fight engaging and interesting, because it allows for effectively infinite variety in villains and gimmicks!
I'm impressed. I've seen several reactions to Jojo's Openings, but I've never seen someone so detailed. Several details of the story were observed just through the opening, things that most people don't even notice. Congratulations!
I think the reason to watch Jojo is because how how intertwined it is with modern anime, there's a reason there's a saying that 'everythings a jojos reference" because this is the show that directly inspired so many mainstream favorites. Persona 5 and many many many others, that by itself is a reason to delve into it. Its got a huge cultural impact and I don't think most people even realize that before they actually start watching.
"In what appears to be Kenny G's labyrinth, the sextet are then seen climbing a dark staircase. A spotlight swings left and right 4 times, each swing showing a different silhouette of an Egyptian god, foreshadowing the enemies whose Stands are based on the deities."

I love him.

did i really get any of it xD?!
@@Mattables yes i mean you got a lot about the characters stand powers and what they do or noticed some detail changes that may not seem important but actually are to the plot :)

Nahh, he was voiced by Tomokazu Sugita. The song is sung by Coda, also known as Kazusou Oda.
Also, Persona was inspired by Jojo, hence why you feel that kind of Persona-esque touch to the music or style, whatever you felt
I'm not sure about the music tho... Persona has been out for decades the first time Jojo has ost or songs. While persona was inspired by jojo it was the manga version jojo. No songs. By the time Jojo has it own animation persona4 was out for a few years

The best JoJo Reaction so far, I love when you pause and interpret stuff especially because the things you say make sense
So basically the alternate opening is reserved for when the main antagonist reveals his stand power (the ones you called pokemon) and they usually have something to do with the stand for example (SPOILERS AHEAD)
The firs one with a variant shows Dio(the blonde dude) stopping time which is his Stand called THE WORLD's ability, that's why right before he freezes,he shouts "ZA WARUDO" which is japanese pronunciation for the world
To sum up: Jup that guy with the white hat IS JoJo, he just changed his outfit AND the writer just thought about to change his art style that‘s all. Oh and yea both are related.

I think the reason to watch Jojo is because how how intertwined it is with modern anime, there's a reason there's a saying that 'everythings a jojos reference" because this is the show that directly inspired so many mainstream favorites.
