That man was definitely about that life haha rum at 10 am not in Madagascar just some kinda people. Love your videos. I am from Antananarivo but raised in Europe. Going back home this summer after 30 years
In a sense, a typical shopping market and food stalls as seen in many other countries. It’s always enjoyable to see you take your viewers to places like this, where the local people shop. I don’t need to see some fancy shopping mall, where a travel agent might suggest, or a guided tour package might take me. I want to experience the real thing, and see what life is truly about. I was very surprised to see how clean the streets are here! Something any traveler cannot miss, and a big reflection on the Madagascan people! 😁💯⭐️👏🇲🇬
Just discovered your channel and I love your content.I lived for 2 and half years in Madagascar and if you go on the West or North coast you will find people with your stature as well.A lot of them came from West Africa ,centuries ago before the Malay came thus often the tribal wars that occured. As for their local rhum most of them are handcrafted by locals and sometimes it can exceed the 70 degrees and even more.As for the food in Madagascar it's just amazing wherever you go.I also must say that for someone who doesn't speak French ,your French pronounciation is pretty good and you have quite a lot of vocabulary.Take care
Thank you for visiting my country...I wish I had knew you before this video so that I could show you more about this beutiful country and every aspect of the downtown.
1) "Hotely tsy misy kisoa" literally means " Restaurant where there isn't porc meat", they don't cook porc meat. Hotely = Restaurant, tsy misy = there isn't, kisoa = porc. 2) The place where you find changes, those are the old changes in Madagascar, this person collects them, that's why you can find stamp too. 3) The vegetables which looks like a fruit is a local pumpkin. 4) "Zaimaika" literally means "the one who's in a hurry". That means you eat and you bounce. 😉. I hope I brought you more informations.
Hey thanks for the video ! The lady who you asked the price to said « 20.000 FMG which equals to 4.000Ar FMG (Franc Malgache) was our previous currency before Ariary and people still speak in FMG to these days because for some reasons, it’s easier for them. But simply, if the price is given in French then the vendor is telling you the price in FMG so you will have to divide the price by 5. But if the price is given to you in malagasy, then it is in Ariary !
Yes. I was aware of this phenomenon before arriving to Madagascar but it was hard to discern which currency they were referring to so I just defaulted my ears to just give Ariary unless they specifically said Francs. it's all good in the end. they got more money.
It's not that easy though. It's rather that if the word "Ariary" isn't said, the price is in Fmg. In FB group ads, it's like this, too, whatever the language.

Like that you are showing off beaten path countries. I was looking into Madagcascar. The thing about Ethiopia and Kenya tours become very costly. Could be a great retirement destination.
The Malagasy People Make the Best of EVERY Situation. This is What I Saw.
I was in Antananarivo in 2014. It looks to me that after 9 years nothing has changed. It is exactly like Indonesia

I know this for sure. Madagascar's tours are a lot cheaper. Cheaper living as well
As a retiree (a real one) you only need to have 500 EUR a month in order to get a long-term visa. ;-)
