I’ve always felt that Dressel’s been most dominant at scy. His starts, underwaters, and turns all are super explosive and tbh they don’t matter as much in lcm considering the distance difference between walls. Not saying they don’t matter bc they definitely do when you factor in momentum but not nearly as much. You can literally swim 80% of a sprint in scy underwater and nobody is touching Dressel there. Not to mention the guy is a the LeBron James of swimming, he’s a FREAK athlete and is in the best shape I’ve ever seen a swimmer of this caliber be in.

I hope you guys are right, but I've never seen tapers less than 1 month out make that huge of a difference. I remember in 2016 that Simone Manuel went 24.33 PB at Trials and then swam 24.09 at the Olympics. That was, as time drops go, pretty impressive stuff. Dressel is similar in that way, but expecting him to drop more than 0.5 second over a 50 is really pushing the extremes. I fully see him going 21.4 low, but not faster. Same with the 100 fly - 50.0, but not as fast as last year. Anyway, I'm a big fan so I hope I'm wrong. I think this is the year of Ben Proud in that distance (50 free).
