To fit the new fan you obviously can't use the proper locking tool that fits the holes because there are no holes for it. To do it up and remove it next time, you need a different kind of tool like the wrap around type.
I have messed about with gear less scooters for years and some mods work and some don’t! What works- Stiffer contra spring Mixing rollers to suit your riding Clutch springs What is a waste of money- Adjustable racing clutch Racing variators 4 stroke exhaust/ 2 stroke works great Dont waste your money If you want to go faster better to pass your Test and buy a 200cc or bigger
what's a conta spring do you mean the big one in the rear hub over clutch . I think variators work with the right springs butch variator with higher tide will give a better too end
The spring grips the belt more between the rear pulley so when you are moving along and open the throttle the scooter picks up quicker! Does not make the scooter go faster If you want to go faster you need oversize front variator and rear pulley, I don’t know if these are available for that scooter? Sometimes different parts can be made to fit! Look on club forums. Polini and Stage 6 do oversize/Over range kits for scooters but are super expensive
CHEERS Steve have just bought an RA GT125 with the plan of doing an up grade once run etc would be interested in the change of performance I’ve gone for the Scorpion exhaust only reason was told a Tasso would invalidate the warranty, any thoughts on the Scorpion ? once your back out on the road any further tips etc I would find all info helpful 👏👍
Hi Stevie nice little how to video m8 I have already watched the next video with the Tasso pipe fitted that looks good as well my question is you noticed a real difference in the Tasso video . Was that only noticed after fitting the new pipe or did you get a power upgrade just with what you did in this first video ?
Hi Patrick I tested the scoots against each other without the Tasso and just the variator mods it was quicker and with then with the Tasso I then found down hill I could get it to rev to 9k instead of just over 8000 rpm I actually hit what seemed to be a rev limiter as the euro 4 is efi injected .I defo think it's slightly improved it if only a tad but sounds great can be heard so I am happy . there is a few pipes around costing double but I can't see them being much better if any as its a 4 stroke motor and the Tasso does look very much in keeping with the 1960s flavour so at 165 its a bargain . thanks for your comments
stevi dub dub hi Steve thanks for getting back to me I actually have a Scomadi 50 which I have added a 125 with 170 cc upgrade with a pm sports pipe this motor to me ready converted and run in but I know it needs a gear up kit to let it pull a better top speed so I'll be following your progress with your upgrades with interest good luck with it I was particularly interested in your reason for mixing dr pulley sliders with standard rollers I just assumed most people would just fit a full set of dr pulleys rollers ?
hi it's a tuning add on itll make it accelerate faster quicker off the mark and keep you safe getting ahead of motorists from the lights n overtaking etc
not very impressed, especially with the re-fitting of the variator(quite easy to keep the paper gasket out of the way)and wouldnt be surprised if the odd roller or two have not dropped out of place, also the belt should not be sitting low on the front pulley when re-fitting the outer.
Sam the video is not to impress you mate it's to show how easy it is to do with limited tools no flywheel puller etc to help people understand a bit better layman's terms why not do a video yourself see if you can impress me .

Yes thats correct. Big spring inside the clutch bell 🔔
did you notice much gain from big spring n what rpm did you fit
The spring grips the belt more between the rear pulley so when you are moving along and open the throttle the scooter picks up quicker!

dunno much about scorpion but look well made . i went for the look with Tasso its more retro
Hi Steve just ordered my exhaust where did you get the bits for this video, keep the videos coming 👍
searched online for bits but tasso do the variator weights and springs for about 110 quid ish .
contact Adam tassoman he has a website online mate
How tight/ torque did you do the fan plates but? And did you use locktight? Only asking because I'm about to attemp this myself
to be honezt i just nipped it up as allways

I'm looking for a bit more top end what weights would you recommend changing to
i couldn't get anymore top end with heavy weights as you've got to get the motor reving 8.7g i think were best allrounders
Newbie question here what are the main reason for a change of variator? Thanks!
hi it's a tuning add on itll make it accelerate faster quicker off the mark and keep you safe getting ahead of motorists from the lights n overtaking etc
Hi , what size and weight are the dr pulley rollers ?
10g might try 11g next as hitting rev limiter at 9k rpm 64mph

you wannabe try filming and doing this with one hand lol
Stevi what torque settings did you use when fixing the exhaust?
I didn't I just tightend it up not to fall off
Two fins, you smashed.
well observed yes I did
