Korea is Xenophobic to the core, they are even rejecting North Koreans in that subject of matter. This is because they were a closed society for millenniums and have little genetic differences and cultural diversity which cause most of the people to have ignorance on the matter of race,cultures,religions etc.
And due to overly difficult living standards, there are not enough immigrants for them to get used to that much. The only piece of knowledge that can cure their ignorance is kept away in English which they have difficulty learning due to difference in language families.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I think Alex did what Namfon did as well with the visa. She'd stay for 3 months then fly back to America and then come back, and Dr's response back then was "visa issues".

If the group/label starts making real money, they should compensate her by bringing her for a few gigs. At the same time Namfon should have realized she was not in a proper business situation for herself, she should have left a long time ago. That's what job options are for, you shouldn't just stick to whatever you're in. The label wouldn't have kept you if you wanted to leave because you didn't have a work permit in the first place.

The way Alex was treated was literally trifling. Imagine coming to work and watch everyone else be styled , done up and bonding and yet you have to bring your own clothes, do your own hair and makeup. On top of not even speaking the language . Literally terrible.

"Tonight" was such a bop and I instantly got hooked to the group BlackSwan, I don't know much about the group and their history but their company is just pure TRASH, so many member lineups (I mean, it must've been so confusing from time to time lol), no proper treatment for the members (Alex and Namfon rlly hurt me bcuz they were affected so much 😢), not taking legal action and responsibilities, and above it all the tea.
It was a shame to hear about the whole controversy with hyeme and how it would affect the group just only a MONTH after their debut. But, I rlly hope they get better treatment in the future. 🥰💝💋

Well after all of this. I highly doubt Black Swan is going to survive. The companies a complete mess and they really cant manage there group. I loved the song Tonight but I saw the Goodbye Rania album full of remixes of old rania songs which was weird. In my mind, Black Swan is just a whole different group already.
The Blackswan members said they're planned for a comeback sometime in the spring, but I'll believe it when I see it because this company is ridiculous 🤡🤡

I think the craziest thing about this is that in America, alex would be looked at as a mixed race light skinned black girl, and would receive better treatment and opportunity in the musical industry in many places simply because she doesn't appear "stereotypically black" and is considered light skinned. For someone who, I- quite frankly did a double take at when it was mentioned that she was black ( i legit paused the video and was like wait what no she's mixed with something) to think that someone as light skinned as her, with such angular, European influenced features could STILL be treated like garbage because she isn't the color of a piece of printer paper hurt me more than I expected it to.

2 new members were added to the group Sriya and Gabi, replacing Yongheun and Judy
Leia was put on Hiatus due to a bullying and sexual assault scandal.
A new member called Nvee was added to the group
Blackswan had a comeback titled *That Karma*
Fatou confirmed that Leia left the group, meaning that Nvee replaced Leia
All current members of Blackswan are Non-Korean
There were a total of 4 member leaving and 3 new members added from the debut of Blackswan. Fatou is the only original member remaining.

Update from 2023 hyeme was proven innocent, youngheun and judy left due to a bullying scandal caused by a family member of larissa who is currently on hiatus and unofficially removed from the group, three new members were added to complete the group alongside fatou. Things are looking up for the group as they will be releasing a music video for their bside cat and mouse after a successful comeback with their song karma. Before watching this video I would have confidently said it would be smooth sailing from here but now I'm unsure as much as I am seeing a positive change in management, the issue seems to go all the way back to their first group baby vox. I am really attached to this current lineup so I won't forgive dr if they mess this up.

Hi, just watched both RaNia, BP RaNia, Black swan, videos, and let me say you should make an updated or 3rd part... As of now in Blackswan, the 2 Korean members of Blackswan have "graduated" as Dr. Music put it, from the group and 3 new members have been added. Last added member goes by Nvee.
Having to constantly pay for plane tickets every 90 days is probably more expensive than the visa itself...
Black swan have preformed other rania songs but umm the back track still had Alex and the other member's voices in it from that era rather than the current member's singing it and/or there voices in the back track

Maybe this is just me not reaching down in the comments far enough, but am I the only person who felt so horrible for Alex? I knew from the get go that Blackswan was just using Alex as a token to get International fans into their fandom because "HEY! WE, SOUTH KOREA, HAVE A BLACK PERSON! SEE? WE'RE NOT RACIST AT ALL!" (Scoff) Please! This is like Disney announcing that the latest film is going to have a gay character before the movie premieres. This just explains even further that yes, South Korea wants that International standing because America and the UK have it, but they don't even do the bare fucking minimum of appealing to the International audience, and yes that includes moral boundaries. For a country that should be on the same level as America, the UK, Australia, etc, they really don't seem to want to evolve that much at all. It makes me concerned about the new girl of the group, Fatou. She may be dancing now, but considering with how the events described in this video went down before, it wouldn't surprise me if she gets similar or the same treatment as Alex did. I don't want that to happen whatsoever, but things are not looking fantastic at all. Tokenism is real, and this is an all around the world thing, not just in America. If we keep supporting this crap, South Korea is gonna keep doing it. And for those of you who are going to tell me that I'm being too harsh and just give Blackswan a second chance since we don't know what Fatou is like, would you give your abuser a second chance even if they got the help they needed? Not a chance in hell.
Alex was not a part of blackswan she was a part of bp/rania fatou is actually doing good and treated like everybody else her and the girls are friends and there is a genuine connection between them actually the only ppl how give her a hard Time and treat her unfairly is intentional fans especially black fans

Nonetheless, what we've all learned about Kpop or the music industry as an international whole is that we don't really know what goes on behind the scenes. Alex had obvious horrible treatment since there were video evidence during her run. We didn't know how bad her treatment really was until she was interviewed and appeared in Grace's videos. In fact, there are many cases where on stage or on TV, idols look as if they are apart of the group they are in, but we don't know until they are kicked out or quit the industry of how bad it really is. It's too soon to tell Fatou's fate, true. However, I would be extremely naive to just ignore Alex's poor treatment from before and just pretend that race isn't a factor here. Again, I'm not pouring gas to Fatou's career. I wish her all the best if anything else. I'm just saying we don't know what happens unless we are there or we are told.

I'm sure she had her reasons for putting up with so much for so long, but if I were Alex I would've walked from day one. Come on, not even bothering to get her a translator or a Korean teacher? Getting her to stand in the corner of a live performance? They treated her like absolute trash. They just let her float around the edge of the group and fend for herself after they were done using her as a marketing ploy. If I let myself tolerate that kind of disrespect I don't think I could look at myself in the mirror anymore.
Yeah, let's not do this. Alexandra was chasing her dream, and she swallowed a lot of dirt to make it happen. When she realized her dream was unreachable and that it wasn't like she pictured, she walked off. I think every kpop fan would do that lmao so let's not second guess anyone, okay?
@Yuri Miura I didn't mean to come off as belittling the decision she made, people have done and endured much worse for their dreams. It's just utterly shocking how much she put up with and how a company can operate this way with seemingly minimal repercussions considering they're still around today.
There is a video on Grazy Grace youtube channel where she talked with Alex on why she stayed so long and how she delt with all of it. Ploopy showed a clip of it in this video but you should go watch the full video to understand it better

She was actually added after their last promotions ended. The company tried to keep Stellar alive shortly after the original members Gayoung and Jeonyul left, but it didn't work out, so they just disbanded.

They didn't even know which member is even in the group and leaving them alone to pay for their own stuff. At least they turned around and improved but it shouldn't take a decade to do that
