    In fairness to Tennessee the coach said in the second half they played players for film purposes only not necessary what they would do in regular season.

    My late husband missed the fizzle at the end of last years BB season. Now he is not here for a Historic Hoosier Football season. Although, I am sure he has better seats than I do😊 I sure hope Woodson and the Boys can continue this Magical year in Btown!😅

    believe it or not Mike Woodson has a lot of respect in the college basketball world both as a college player and a pro career as a player and coach.. Just saying people do respect him outside of Indidna. '

    There isn't a coach in the top 5 in the AP that wouldn't have traded Woody rosters going into this season. All of them would be favored to win the National Championship to. That tells you that Woody is viewed a certain way. I think we will be very good, but he's going to statically do things regularly this year that will have us scratching our head. If there is such a thing as throwing talent at it can get you to the final 4. This roster is the test for that.

    Based on how versatile, deep, experienced and talented they are. I believe Myles is already 1 of the top point guards ready to rival Smith head on head twice. Many fans who have not watched his Washington State videos are in for a surprise how great of an athlete he is and how court-smart he is. Reneau is ready to make noise as is Mgbako. Carlyle and Bryson Tucker are very good too. Luke Goode will make a ton of threes and Ballo is a beast in the paint. 10-1 non conference then 16-4 and #1.

    Does IU have anyone who could win a 3-point contest at the HPER building?

    Wasn't it the Big East or maybe Big 12 that padded their schedule to build up their metrics last season which brought complaints from the ACC?

    16-4 to win the conference is my prediction. If Galloway gets healthy by Big 10 games it will be easier to attain that goal and it would be nice to see Jaki Newton on the floor showing his extreme athletic presence on defense and rebounding the rock. Bryson Tucker has played well in practice a sleeper on this team. The Hoosiers defense at Tennessee was better tha n expected and that was without Galloway. Career highs; Mgbako 24, Gal 28, Ballo 30, Carlyle 24, Rice 35 Reneau 35

    The conversation on rather Woodson should be fired, was held amongst the fans, not IU administration! Let's be very clear!

    Indiana did not have a shooting problem last season they had a guard problem. They could not shoot because of the guard play. Put Rice on TJD and JHS team and they win 27 games two seasons ago.

    I think Galloway will take over the starting 2 guard as long as he gets healthy.

    Indiana Level!? I mean, what's Indiana's level? The level before Woodson? Missing the tournament 6 yrs in a row? I get sick of the Anti Mike Woodson talk.

      I like Mike Woodson, but his standard is not being better than Archie Miller. You can support Mike Woodson and also be honest enough to admit that he has had some serious failings last year and that there are chronic issues with this team that have to be solved.

    • @fivelefts3150
      @fivelefts3150 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ He has addressed those issues! Hasn’t he?! Furthermore, I’ve never heard Woody compare himself to Archie! I certainly wasn’t with my statement. My point is, he had a bad year, that was partially his fault for not structuring the team well enough to sustain an injuries, especially to his PG. However, the backlash was over the top! It was also very disrespectful, how people treated Woody. I also believe there’s a racial element to it that was being dog whistled amongst the criticism. I know most will deny that part. Talking his tenure as though, he hasn’t accomplished anything, is disingenuous at the least.

      @fivelefts3150 Woodson has had some successes, he transformed Ware and made him a first round draft pick. He had a first round draft pick the previous year. He did a lot to help TJD develop. He won a tournament game. That's great, and I don't think Woodson should be on the hotseat going into this year because of what he's done with what he walked into. But, these aren't big meaningful successes for a "blue blood" basketball program. They are steps in the right direction. And last year was an unmitigated disaster, which undid a lot of the good grace he won with those steps forward. The roster construction was a complete mess, the team could not play offense, Woodson brought in zero recruits, there were multiple instances of poor behavior in games, and Indiana failed to make the tournament. The team last year had a tough time beating Army. It was a complete failure of a season on every level.

      @@irvinglambert9316 Again! As Woodson would begin. Woven into your reasonings.. Many that turned out to be more fuss than substance. For instance, you say he didn’t have any recruits? He lost a McDonald’s All American and then replaced him with one. He killed the transfer portal. You site poor behavior in games? C’mon man.. Notwithstanding Xavier Johnson, who displayed poor behavior? They lost X twice, they played without Galloway and Ward some games, with Cupps as the starting guard. Yet we ended with the same record and beat Michigan State head to head last season. But it was an Epic disaster right? The worst ever!? BS

    Well, I am reluctantly hopeful, as I was when Mike Woodson was hired. Each new coach is a ray of possibility, but all we get is failure. I am 84, and I started watching IU basketball during Branch McCrakens's last year at IU. Then Lou Watson, his assistant, took over for a couple of years and that was a disaster. Then IU hired Bob Knight. My memory isn't as good as it used to be but as I remember it Bob Knight took a team that he inherited from Lou Watson and won the Big 10 and almost beat John Wooden's UCLA in the NCAA. The rest is all history that we all know about. So, to go from one of the top basketball schools in the nation to what IU has become is insultingly depressing in my view. Meanwhile, Purdue keeps finding good players and doing well. I keep hoping that IU will regain respectability but I gotta see it before I will believe it.
