Thank you for this well made, tasteful and decent video. What a nice place.
Thank you for the kind comments, it is a very nice place. We’re happy you enjoyed our video. Thanks for watching.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thanks for showing this lovely place that I never heard of in my own country.
@@stefan1924 Thanks for watching and commenting! We’re very happy that you enjoyed our video on Idstein. We love Germany ! It has many beautiful, small places similar to Idstein.
The witch trials of Trier (1581-1593) is expected to be the largest documented one, according to what we learn on guided tours in Trier.
According to sources online, 3 other cities are in addition to Trier known for the worst trials of witchcraft in Germany. Chronological listed:
Trials of Fulda (1603-1606)
Trials of Würzburg ( 1625-1631)
Trials of Bamberg (1627-1632)
I have visited all these places on all my trips to Germany since 1982. I love the country and I love history in general, even the sad and cruel period of witchunt (since I am fascinated by medieval time and totally in love with these halftimbered houses) .
Thank you so much for your lovely videos, I adore them! ❤
Yes. Trier was the answer we were looking for. There were several other cities- as you listed that also had witch trials and some of them quite large. Thank you very much for watching our videos and for commenting. We are happy you enjoy them.
Your video making is really awesome
Thank you. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
OMGOSH!!! On the main square the restaurant with the red beams belonged to my cousins' mom. It was called Zum Tal. Inside was a bar area, a separate wine room that was preserved to it's midieval state and a large dining hall where they served high end dining. They also had tables outside. What a treat to see it again!
@@karenarp8566 I’m happy you liked the video and it gave you a little trip down memory lane. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video! Thank you so much for sharing. What a beautiful place. I only know about it because friends have posted on Facebook that they are there - just now! Bacharach is lovely to visit too.
Thanks. Yes, both towns are amazing places to visit. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy travels!
Go to the jazz festival there. 20 years ago it was great!
@@stewwolfe1 Thanks for watching and commenting ! We will definitely try to check out the Jazz festival. Do you know what month it is?
@@travelingexpats August
@@stewwolfe1 Thank you! Maybe we can go there next year.
Such an interesting place !! Germany, England and Ireland are on my bucket list .
You definitely need to visit, so many cool places. Thanks for watching!
I have so many favourite cities and areas in Germany, from the most well-known ones to the hidden "jewels" I have stumbled over by just picking small roads that no one has ever talked about.
Amongst the buzzing medieval towns I have visited more than 10 times, that I will always recommend:
Rothenburg ob der Tauber and
Rüdesheim am Rhein.
These towns are sometimes overcrowded, so I prefer going there outside the high season. They both also have nice Christmas markets in December.
To see lots of beautiful towns in Germany on a road trip, a great way is to drive on the Romantischer Strasse (romantic road) which is not a highway. Between towns you can drive 80 km/h and in towns 50 km/h. Since the towns are MANY, this special route takes time to drive. However, the beauty of it and what you will see along Romantischer Strasse is amazing!
In Germany you can buy a small book with map and descriptions for this long route.
So, maybe a romantic road trip would make a nice video or a series of videos? ❤
That’s a wonderful idea. I think we could make some videos on the Romantic Road. Thanks for the recommendation.
We love Rothenburg and Rüdesheim too.
@@travelingexpats I would really love to watch that!
I have had so many great experiences on my trips there. I always stayed in either B&Bs or a Gasthaus. Local people could give me so much insight that most tourists never will find. I tasted the local beer and told them I loved it. Each time I got their Stammtisch, the table that is only reserved for frequent guests. 🤭 And free beer.
Wish you a great time!
Nice video. There are so many charming towns around the world - just not enough time or money to visit them all. BTW, love the Wazzu hat…we’re from the PNW but are Ducks 😊
So true…so many amazing places to visit but not enough time/money! Had no idea you two were from the PNW. Both of our girls are at WSU so we’re die hard Coug fans! Glad you liked the video.❤️
My wife is half German and we love traveling in German. Especially those river cruises. This year we start in Munich. Can't wait. Our favorite town is Rothenberg, but in the winter and Christmas time, it's surely Nuremberg. Riesling wine is my wife's choice and mine is Paulander beer. Love all your videos. Any travel plans in 2024. Since you two went to Bulgaria, do you plan any other trips in Eastern Europe? Maybe Dracula's castle. Thanks, L&B
Thank you so much. That sounds like a great trip, we love Munich, Rothenburg and Nürnberg - all beautiful. Cruising the Rhine River and the Mosel is spectacular. We spent a week in Bulgaria and a couple of weeks in Turkey. Unfortunately we probably won’t be able to visit Romania this year, hopefully soon though. Thanks for watching!
Ihr müsst mal nach Meersburg am Bodensee kommen. Die Insel Mainau ist auch ein "Must see".
@@arnodobler1096
Bin dort aufgewachsen.
@ Super!! Ich finde das sehr interessant. Danke!
That alley was a little tight. That’s a gorgeous town. I would love to visit it. Do you know which artist painted the ceilings in the church? Not that I’m the most knowledgeable on artists. I was just curious. Great trivia question. I think the answer is Wűrzburg.
The artists name was Michael Angelo Immenraet from Antwerp, Belgium. His work in this church is truly spectacular. Thanks for watching, sharing your thoughts and participating in the trivia.
nice video ♥️
Thanks for watching!
Hexenburg
Thanks for watching and playing the trivia. We’ll see next week who the winner is.
