Not all the U.S. versions of the movies are included. There are 7 missing and only The first movie has special features. The specials feature blu-ray is just about the Showa era as a whole not really about individual films.

The most annoying thing to me about this collection is that Criterion has the exclusive distribution rights to Rodan in the US, but despite that, if you want Rodan in HD, you have to use their streaming service (or HBO Max). Why they didn't just include Rodan as a special feature like they ended up doing with Game of Death 2 on the Bruce Lee collection, I have absolutely no idea.
That’s a very good point, usually comes down to money, they definitely didn’t want to do anymore supplements and work that they “didn’t have to “ and they wanted to probably just keep Godzilla’s titular films in the collection despite Rodan being in the same Kaiju sandbox… side tangent personally I don’t really care about Game of Death 2 (I know it’s blasphemy for some) but no one will ever convince me that it deserved a seat st the table in any BL collection bc there was no new footage they were just continuing to milk and make profit off his name with what is probably a mediocre sequel at best, but it makes sense in the context of Bruceploitation I guess because it was an official Golden Harvest film. @@JD7Videos Yeah, I can definitely see that being a possible reason. And hey, maybe they will release Rodan on a standalone blu-ray at some point. What makes it worse is the English dubs SUCK.
But also some of the movies have totally separate cuts, like the original and King Kong vs Godzilla. The cuts for each respective film are far different from each other
Bingo! The english dubs are weird af, partly bc there are things lost in translation and then they do wacky things with dialogue like alot of old foreign films, that plus extra footage and like you said totally different cuts with different story elements sometimes
@@JD7Videos this box set seems to be the only chance to get King Kong vs Godzilla as it truly was.
Some of the movies are cheesy and pointless cash grabs. Not everyone’s cup of tea
Yeah to be honest anything past the first two are pretty cheestastic definitely a die hard special! Anyone not totally interested should steer clear unless it’s a great deal
Raymond Burr, Not Steve Martin.
Yes, but Steve Martin is his characters name
The excessive hand movements are distracting
🙄
