I love this version because of a special memory. This year was the release of the live version of Beauty and the Beast. My wife loves that movie, so went to see it on opening night. We loved the new version because of the small changes that made the romance a little more mature and credible--not so open to the whole "gold digger" parody. It was delightful for both of us (since I'm a beast and she's my beauty). After the movie, we were traipsing about the outdoor courtyard of the mall (Promenade in Temecula) hand-in-hand when this song came over the speakers. This one being one of "our songs," we looked in each other's eyes, knowing what was next and dutifully danced right there in public. Some junior high boys were watching and didn't make fun at all--just smiled and laughed and then clapped for us when we were through. The junior high girls thought we were the cutest couple Well...that's how I wish it could have been. Maybe next life I'll be born one of the rich, better looking guys and I won't be a 43 year old chronically single male with a vivid imagination and no one to do cool things with. The movie was good and I still enjoyed the music, but just thinking how much fun it would have been if... ah, well... ...maybe in some parallel universe :(
@@applescruff1969 Things haven't gotten much better, tbh. I'm 50 now. Definitely a LOT of hurdles in the way for marriage. They say, "with God all things are possible." I appreciate that. It's just will He DO the possible?
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing. And I was wondering do you have any advice for a young adult and the whole girl scene? I feel like I’m overthinking everything ya know what I mean ?
@@joshmohale242 Thinking that through, I wasn't sure what kind of advice to give. After all, I'm not married, so.... But then again, I thought, my path hasn't gotten me married to the wrong person, either, so there's that. :) I would say that if you think you're overthinking it, you probably are. One of the songs I like about this is, "Love Like Crazy," by Lee Brice. Be sure to give that a listen. It'll only take a minute (or three). So advice...well... Advice is just stuff you already know, but need to hear it from someone else, so I'll throw a few ideas out there. It's advice, but I'm not promising silver bullets. The only silver bullet is that there are no silver bullets. Nevertheless, the real trick is finding a gal who is crazy for you--and you for her! It absolutely MUST be mutual. You HAVE to become best friends (that's NOT the same as, "just friends." Walk away from that the very moment she says, "You're so sweet," or, "you're such a sweet/nice guy." Just don't bother. Trust me. I don't care about the exceptions. You asked :) ). You both have to (and I hate this word, but...) you both have to "vibe." You just sync with each other and "get" each other. It's not "mind reader" garbage--not that. It's not that a relationship doesn't take some work and effort. It's just that you're both looking for something bigger than your own selves. The most successful relationships (by quality of life and quantity of years) are the ones who genuinely love each other as best friends. That doesn't mean you always get along and never argue ever, but that you have a livable, healthy strategy for how you argue with the aim of resolving a problem--not ending the relationship. Make sure you're a man who is gainfully employed and that you have a breadwinner's mindset. Start your own business someday, if you can. That mindset isn't the same as greed. Greed is the idolatry of stuff, things, useless doodads, trinkets, etc. Avoid the gold diggers (or they like to call themselves, "goal diggers," now I guess. Same thing. Pigs with lipstick). But it's absolutely OK to have the mindset of a breadwinner: put food on the table, pay the bills, have a little extra for savings, and most importantly, give the first tenth back to God (I guess that presumes you follow Him. So I guess give your life to Jesus first because even though it's no silver bullet, either, your best bet is still to find a woman who is in love with Jesus Christ first). OK...I guess I could write a book. Let me know what you think.
yes you should definitely write a book 😂 that was amazing though man I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to share some words of wisdom it means a lot man! I recently talked to my girlfriend because I was overthinking some stuff and just took a sec to be real with her and she appreciated that and it made me really start to understand like communication is key to a relationship. I feel for so long I’ve been confused about communication but I’m starting to understand it’s a crucial part of it. if that makes sense?
@marcoddy ^-^ Yeah, that's what I meant with transposing, you have to transpose the notes 3 frets. I mean, if the tab says it's on the 12th fret it is actually in the 15th; you have to add 3 frets because it's tabbed as if the capo (on 3rd fret) was the start point. I hope I have explained myself well. If you have any other doubt just tell me =)
@marcoddy XD don't worry. I'm ignorant too XD. I had to try many times to realize that they were tabbed like that, and yeah, I don't have the best ear ever, but it sounds pretty accurate to me! Hope you enjoy this great song! =)
@ALRC1990 Hi - thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I think I have found the one you mean, down near the bottom... 'adlib'. The first six notes sound good, but after that it jumps forward. The first note also sounds as if it's on the 15th fret of the bottom E string and not the 12th. I am very very grateful for your help and I am determined to find this tab!!!
I would absolutely LOVE to know where I could find the tab for the instrumental between 1.58 - 2.08... have loved this song for years and can now play it on the guitar... just not that little section. For anyone who can help - there's a place for you in heaven!!
@ALRC1990 Aaaaaah - right. Thank you so much and sorry for my ignorance. I will try it 3 frets down, have you played it and does it sound perfect to you? Thank you once again for taking the time to reply to me. It is a very kind thing to take your time and share your knowledge. Bless you.
@ALRC1990 PS - I'm not sure what transposing the numbers of the picking means? Sorry, I'm a decent player but don't know a lot of the lingo - will google it and see what I find :)
@marcoddy enter 911tabs (dot) com. Sixpence none the richer --> Kiss me acoustic and the first tab that appears there..that it is! =)! Sorry, I can't post the link but hope u find it and enjoy it =)!! (Remember transposing the numbers of the picking).
@@costasmax3529 Oh, God, as a male singer with a higher range, I fuckin' HATE C. 🤣🤣🤣 Lol, kudos to ya, sir, if you can hit that. My favorite song was recorded in C, and it drives me crazy, because I can't hit the notes from the diaphragm, and haven't been able to since I was 13, nine years ago. Lol, but I also don't put all my force behind it, either. Maybe next time I find a karaoke bar.
Best version of this song.
this version makes me feel like walking under a cool moonlight night in paris
Sweet mother of God, those last twenty seconds makes this version a billion times better than the original. Words can't describe its beauty.
Aw ❤️
That short sweet melodic solo has been a mystery for me for a long time.
Luv the guitar playing here!
Love this song!
best version singer
The best version bar none!
This song 🥺
