    Was waiting for this review.
    Do you think this is the only practical choice in petrol compact SUV right now ?
    Considering -
    Nexon AMT : petrol guzzler , inferior AMT
    Venue DCT : Unreliable , heating issues
    Ecosport AT : Expensive , low fuel economy.

      Better than AMT options for sure. 100+ Horsepower. Yes, it’s practical. Just not a package which is show off material. But very sensible.

    One correction. DCT is not superior. Both are at same level. Infact DCT uses clutch and is very complicated mechanism. There are somany reliability issues. That is the reason even luxury cars like BMW uses torque converter automatic.

      @SanjaySingh-py1ke 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dry clutch DCT used in Kias and Hyundais have additional problems of durability. They heat up in traffic, too. I will not dare to drive a DCT through bumper to bumper traffic in the heat of the day. The car stops.

    Lot of positive sides highlighted by your excellent review. I purchased it recently. Good for city rides..but not as good on highways. Coping up with required pressure on accelerator..is not so user-friendly. Little hard press and you get a jerk..need to plan your overtakes in advance...

    • @illuminati2101

      Agree, it has a very sharp throttle response in city, it can be very surprising for new driver.

    Very well reviewed! This looks like a very convenient city car. Do you know how comfortable it feels to drive on the highway at 130-140 kph? Does the engine make a lot of noise at this speed, or does the handling suffer? Thanks in advance

    • @SHIFTINGGEARScom
      @SHIFTINGGEARScom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, that is way beyond speed limit in most part of the country. Engine will be revving higher at that speed for sure, so you will hear it.

  • @simpleman1546
    @simpleman1546 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That 7 speed with turbo lagging engine and no space in the back seat, no thigh support is not that good. I have taken a test drive recently of venue and new s cross auto. I liked s cross more than venue. I think brezza is no different than s cross except little jacked up. Turbo lag in venue is very huge. Like hitting a wall. And people who are planning to buy venue I'd say go drive it like how would drive in a bumper to bumper traffic and then suddenly accelerate. I counted it, it took 2 secs approx for it to react. It's like foot is down and car is not reacting at all - you feel what's wrong for a sec. Where as in s cross it was 0.75 sec lag approx.
    Overdrive mode is very good put it in and it goes right away.
    I'm not a maruthi fan boy but they have only 2 cars which are safe and worth buying and believe me they really tune the hell out of the engine etc.
    One more thing, if you believe that you are an enthusiast etc and want 7 dct then good luck with steering wheel of venue. It the most dead steering wheel I have ever driven in a car. It was under steering while I was taking small maneuver at the speed of 80-85 kmph.
    I mean, you can drive any car at the turn at the speed but the steering was so dead. I had to turn to a point that I had to brake within the turn fearing it may over steer.
    Clearly, my opinion is: don't go blindly for 7 dct. Drive things see if that suits your sporty or day to day meets.
    Cons with cars:
    Nexon: Amt, peace of mind, reliability
    Xuv300: No petrol auto
    Venue: space, driveability, reliability
    Kia sonet: = venue + features
    Brezza: Inferior and old interiors
    My pick would be s cross unless you want a jacket up tall car which is just 20mm more in ground clearance. 180mm is more than enuf, that car has superior interior compared to brezza and 4.3m long (a segment above).
    And it (zeta) is hardly 50-60k more than brezza Zxi

      @@expressdrive3207 AMT gearbox never gives the smoothness of a torque converter gearbox which is used in vitara brezza...torque converter gearbox is purely automatic. u r comparing between diesel and petrol vehicles..diesel xuv 300 will give more mileage...especially if u are travelling in city more,then petrol automatic mileage will be very less. but maintenance of a diesel engine in the long run will be more while petrol is less...also torque converter gearbox is very reliable. driving pleasure will be less for brezza (gear changes are smooth) automatic because the engine has less power and torque compared to diesel engine of xuv which has high torque(gear changes will not be as smooth as brezza). pls test drive both vehicles

      What is alternative according to you? Don't say Venue DCT. That's a crappy car. 3-cylinders. vibrate. turbo-lag and turbo maintenance problem. DCT heating issues and jerky in city. This DCT being dry clutch is even worse. I drove both Brezza petrol AT and Venue DCT. Trust me, Brezza drives much better. Agar DCT hi lena hai to buy VW. They are master of DSGs. Hyundai can never match VW' DSG experience. Polo DSG is light yeaars ahead of Venue DCT.

      @@ravipatel0007 I think Ravikant is right. I drove Brezza auto and was surprised by smoothness. It is a proper 4-cylinder car unlike Venue which has 3-cylinders. I touched 120 and it was smooth. You should buy Brezza. Venue DCT will have issues within 2 years.
