This was an inane match. I think raisy wanted the win more than Rapha wanted it. Raisy worked his ass off for each kill. He earned it. Crazy how coming from counter strike he got so good at an unfamiliar game! Props
Ye I don't feel like Raisy really was better than Rapha, or any older quake veteran yet at the moment. He looked like he's a bit tired and can't focus; while raisy didn't really do anything special. CS is only like 1/4th of Quake so it does surprise me that a CS player won any tournament. That being said it's bound to happen if the same quake vets always beat the "newer players" and make it to the top 4, and then a player eventually slips by a few rounds (which is actually more likely now, with the weird 'hero' imbalances and abilities that were never in quake). if you're any way interested in how Rapha plays you'll simply realize he doesn't play as he usually does, and it's not because of his opponent. Raizy didn't do anything but get some extremely average rocket frags that Rapha ran into. I feel if they were given a day to rest or something, Rapha would have come in and 3-0'd this one too. He's not just some "Esport child" he's been playing Quake for a long time, so even if the game is 75% what it was, he's usually a lot smarter on how to win vs a player.

@@darkisss8596 hah stupid child. Ok what does CS have that "Quake" does NOT have? Or do the inverse, what does Quake lack that CS has? Other than randomness, not being prepared for the little moment of engagement, literal "random bullets" that spread randomly to give only a chance of hitting, and offer low skill ceiling and let stupid kids and adults "gamble" under the pretext of pretending to be competitive; you can practice and even be paid to play it, yet you'll die to some child's random bullet; that's is not a "best man wins" competition. You can only get good to a point and afterward it's point and click gambling, you'd have to be stupid to believe not. DOTA and CSGO are both basically gambling games for kids with what is known as "low skill ceilings". An expert can tell the reason why a less popular but good content RTS or FPS game does not have as many multiplayer, it's because the players like yourself cannot even beat an 'easy AI' let alone become an expert, then blame the games, but in reality, a good player would beat you on the game and you would just cry and never play it again. The 90-99% of 'gaymers' are generaly stupid and will stick to an easy medium of "fake competition" in order to delude themselves that they can compete at a gaym.

Great Play! I have a serious question/problem and maybe there is an easy soloution for it I simply don'tknow about...All the pro's I watch can weapon swap sooo fast. When I swap it feels like forEVER. Is there a trick like strafe jump? I really need help with this. Best regards Chris

It takes longer to switch after you fire, it's the same time as how long it takes to shoot another weapon. For example, it'll take a while to switch from rail to something else after shooting, but lg can always switch out quickly

How does the bracket reset work? Did the points get caries over from those earlier maps?
i think rapha got into finals from upper bracket and raisy from lower bracket and so upper has advantage which is 2x Bo3 if rapha loses the first one.
Final match was 2x bo3, rapha coming from winner bracket only needed to win one bo3, while raisy needed to win two, which he did

This game doesnt beat QuakeCon 2016 tho. Also, trappers dont last long in quake world. The moment rapha stops giving away his position to trapper he will be back on top.

@@user-pm8je4fo7e кулайф все таки немного другая игра, а в куче он даже в топ 3 не всегда попадал. На счету Рейзи победа в ДХ Денвер и тут, у Рафы только ПГЛ, 2в2 я бы не брал в рассчет.
@@konstantinotrembsky9966 да не, я тдмы и не считаю. Лайв-то понятно что другая игруха, но это была целая эпоха, нельзя просто взять и выкинуть ее результаты и всех ее батек. Рафа там показывал регулярные успехи на долгосрочном отрезке (включая финальный участок), а не вылез калифом на час. Не думаю, что результаты неполных двух лет полета мобашутера Куцэ, которая еще из раннего доступа не вышла, могут это перебить. Так-то по куконам, например, современный топчик - это карлан. И че, где он? Слился в нули в первой же игре, причем со своим тиммейтом. Ну и это, самое главное... back on top - это, так-то, не на верхушку топа, а сверху над румыном. Тонкости перевода, однако.

Personally I can't stand Ketchup to the point I have to mute the audio and just watch in silence. His fake enthusiasm and filler commentary is too obnoxious to be tolerated. He obviously doesn't give a fuck about trying to do a decent job and work on his craft to provide a more intelligent commentary. Personally, i'd rather it be funny, or intelligent/informative, anything but pure filler garbage he spits out over and over and over... goddamn!

@footballcoreano Dude, rapha can be ultra aggressive or defensive depending on the situation he is in. Nobody can beat rapha cos he adapts and forces his will upon people. Sometimes you need to switch your gameplay around and that's what rapha does best. Everyone seems so one dimensional compared to him.

I really don't think people like you understand how Quake works. It's about playstyles, if all you do is run and spam it's a different issue, that's just a lack of skill. If you want to talk about counter-playstyles, what Raisy did was brilliant. Rapha baits aggressive opponents into chasing him around the map while he depletes their health over time and then eventually turns on aggression when he's controlling power ups and is stacked. He knows the right timing between running and being aggressive and controlling areas.
Raisy didn't play into his hand. If you look at the first few minutes, Raisy started off by doing what everyone else was doing, as soon as he got a control lead, he started waiting on Rapha to come to him instead of trying to chase him around the map. He hid behind walls and high-ground advantage and lulled Rapha into thinking he's not around, then he'd come out and surprise him.
Rapha is going to have to download this latest playstyle into his memory bank and figure out how to play better against it next time, because hitting and running isn't going to work against someone who's patient and knows when and when not to fight you for power ups. Raisy also did a fantastic job controlling spots once he got those leads. Basically, by saying 'camping and hide' it just shows you lack the analysis to be able to break down what they each play like.
If you think camping and hiding is enough to beat Rapha then he'd be losing to a lot more people.
