A difference in drag factor of about 10 is hard to notice. But if your training machine is as dirty as the one I show you - you'll REALLY feel the difference on the race floor!
If you're looking for the "Open Men / Lever 6" equivalent, and you're at 132 on lever 6, I'd bump it up to 8. But as per the video, best to check drag factor and set it between 150 and 160. Chain wise, give it a clean with some 3 in 1 oil, and it'll hopefully at least feel a bit smoother. There's nothing worse that that real sticky feel to the chain is there?
@@rowalong thanks for the reply, At our CrossFit gym they don’t take care of the rowing machines. Some of them feel some loose at the catch, it’s like it drags few centimetres and then it catches I checked the chain and it looks so dirty and it feels heavier when you row, despite the drag change up or down To have an example my 2K time is around 7:24 in several occasions a barely made a 2K in 8:20 🤷🏻♂️ I hope that I explained it well :)
Haha! That’s the thing, on the race floor, there’s no time to think. I’m sure I would pull a sled instead of push if there was an option. Which is why I suggest training as close to how the race will feel as possible. Good to hear from you again.

very informative, thank you so much!
How about a dirty machine that has a dry/dirty chain?
It usually feels heavier, and it takes more effort to get a good catch
