For honoring the past Julie. Thank you. You honored those that walked before you as if they are going to walk in the door at any moment. And you are doing your utmost to prepare in a way that is worthy of them. Bless you.
Julie, I'm at my parents house. Mom passed away and Dad is in a nursing home currently. With great ceremony and respect I'm cleaning and moving her Asian dolls and her huge gold fan on the wall. Even if they have chips, they were sacred to her. I have begun to give away her clothing. Her red silk jacket, embroidered in black flowers, hangs on her door. I am playing over and over again your videos. I know you would understand. Thank you so much for getting me through an incredibly pivotal time in history. I close my eyes and look ahead and peek over the fence. I see them coming back. Mom, Alberta, Gorgeous Grandma with a soul to match.I wish I could save every treasure that she cherished and duplicate her home for her. Her silver plated water pitcher has tarnished. Bought her a replica. I don't care if I have to bury them somewhere to that they make it through the end of this insane chapter in history. I want her to come back to find that some things were set aside for her. Japanese kimono that hung from the ceiling. I wish you were closer. I would give you her silk Chinese ivory dress. Floor length. It would fit you...her anniversary gift from years ago.... It is a very rainy day here and I appreciate being able to have your company, even if it's through the beautiful videos that you have so carefully proposed with your heart. People want modern, updated, renovated. Mommy was the exact opposite. She would run her hand over old scarred wooden table and said " Just clean it. Put a coat of sealant on it." An amazing caring human being that treated everyone and everything with respect.

Julie, I am totally blown away by the wallpaper that was behind you when you were reading Alberta's letters. We had an attic and the house was from the late 1800s. I begged my dad to leave the wallpaper undisturbed. I have a photograph up there with a gas lamp. I bought the house in a tax auction. After being damaged in a fire. We restored it. Unfortunately my dad ignored my plea and went up and tore down the wall that had the beautiful turquoise and brown wallpaper.... spitting image of what you had on the wall behind you.Rich, velvety, I don't know if it was a screen, was mesmerized looking for a close up of it again. I sobbed when I realized my Dad had disregarded my very specific plea to leave the wallpaper intact. Today I found the picture.
You are SO IMPRESSIVE in ALL you do! Thanks for showing us Yanks up as loving, appreciating, and embracing a new country and wow, what a life! Busy lady 🙏🤗💪🏼😁
Bath and Jane Austen...definitely linked together for literary romance! My favorite novels by Austen set in Bath were Persuasion and Northanger Abbey. JJ Feild was to die for as Henry Tilney in Northanger Abbey! Sigh!
Society has become fixated on monitoring lives of people who oftentimes showcase very private issues, using very unflattering language, and put their family angst on display. This family has known crisis. Health and other issues that put them in a challenging situation. They are making a concerted effort to bring this beautiful property into the Awareness of others, generate flow of tourism, therefore counteract the last year and a half of deficit. The small staff that runs this estate has a livelihood.. Unless it is a living museum, it's going to be jeopardized. Considering the amount of work to be done, including livestock, it seems that 10 people is a very small staff. I would much rather watch The light-hearted adventures of this family as they creatively band together to maintain this historical home. Some people gravitate to other sites where families display their eccentricities, their indulgences, and broadcast their marital woes. I find this refreshing.... this couple of almost 20 years has such a flow, a comfort level to put their banter on display. It is always Kind and whimsical and those who love them "get" it.

What a delightful surprise! Julie, this was perfect. I saw the movie Emma in March 2020, just before the first lockdown here in San Antonio, Tx. During the chaos of the last year I turned to someone who always makes sense, Jane Austen. I have reread all her books in the last year. Just picked up Sense and Sensibility again this weekend. The shot of the street as you approached the abbey was gorgeous. How wonderful to see your family's crest on the abbey's door! Great choice to explore Bath.
So blessed to have this beautiful city as my hometown! It's always lovely to see people make videos about it, walking around the streets I know so well and being so awestruck.
