Great job on that park, looks like so much fun! You have a beautiful family and some beautiful land. Well deserved. Thank you for your service and God bless!
Yep this place is great. We have a bunch of folks that ride Surron's in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. We have seen John build this little piece of heaven for awhile know. We have even volunteered for a weekend to help John build his dream. He always has a smile on his face and is the most most welcoming human being I have ever met. The Dallas Tunnel Snake Surron crew loves this place and so happy to see videos like this to show off his little piece heaven... Love ya man...
This right here locks in the vibe I was trying to capture this last weekend with the Maddens. Thanks for being a part of the project, I thoroughly enjoyed riding here and hanging with the family. 🙏
Thank you all so very much! Incredible support and it’s easy to stay smiling around awesome people! We are building more everyday and appreciate all of you!
What a journey this couple have had- there’s more to a place than the building itself, and these two just go to show that resilience really pays off. What a magic place as well- I’d never get tired of the Mountain View and the stars either. I wish them the best in their business! I’d love to stay if I’m ever in that bit of the world.
As a former football player who played 3 games on turf I couldn’t imagine falling on it OUCH!!!! Dude my knees where so burned up an I was a nose guard/defensive end… still a awesome track tho!! Mx bikes track builders get busy we need this on bikes!
Dude the turf burn is real, but the long sleeves and pants definitely help if you slide out. Crashing on a dirt bike sucks, but the “no ruts” crashes are definitely safer since you don’t land in huge holes like on a normal track. It’s all a trade off for sure. So far, I like this.
That place looks amazing wish they would make one here.. we get all the seasons here that would be awesome ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 you guys rock for making that for real
Wow how freaking cool is that built a place for ppl to ride and it's mad sick. I gotta say this is gotta be the coolest family ever hands down I'm on East coast but sure looks like a fun place to rip
It’s well worth a trip. The place is growing daily since John is out there working the property to keep building. They have some huge features coming for higher skill levels too.
A bit small for my liking, would be good for novice riders and kids though🤷🏼♂️ If anyone in Lansing, East Lansing, Michigan area wants a bigger track with Pro or (A/B class) level MX riding, I have a track on 100 acres just north of East Lansing, sign a waiver, ride all you want, whenever you want… Tables, triples, rytmem sections, whoops, technical rhythm sections all different sizes from 20 foot to 100+, I basically spent 15 years continuously working on the track with dozer and excavator, pretty much anything you can think of, I have built….also 2 gravel pits or trail riding, two fishing ponds also….
They have a lot of acreage so the park is growing each day. John is out there every day making the course bigger and better in some way shape or form. Stay tuned for when I come back once they make some more changes. 🙏🙌
The sticks and tree limbs right off the track is very dangerous2:45, I'm not pointing out the bad things just trying to help out, Some of my worst days has been when I run off the track and have to go into trees sticks and limbs and Ditches, one of the 1st steps of motocross is to walk the track and walk the outside of the track if you run off the track so you know what your Up against, Your place looks great , I can't wait to visit your track, Thanks for your video,
Yeah get those sticks out of their man they don't feel good when they penetrate your arms or legs good friend of mine had a colostomy bag when he was 16 because of something similar
John is always doing landscape maintenance, so i'm sure he's gone through and cleaned this up by now. There wasn't really any debris other than that small spot on the course if you watch my run through at the very end. he keeps it pretty tidy.
Cool to see a DS80,I have my young fella on one,it is a 1997 and I have a 1999 model to blast around on. Wish we had something like that in the South of New Zealand to play on !

Safety isn’t perfect, but mitigation is key. We can only do so much when it comes to motorsports. At the end of the day, what we do is incredibly dangerous and not for everyone. That respect is super important for newcomers to understand 🙏
Thanks Kevin! You’re the one that inspired me to make TH-cam content, I’m grateful to you for making the videos you made when you did. I hope you get back to it, I miss watching your footage. 🙏 God bless and much love brother
@@jestonsendsit my editing isn’t as good as yours is and it shows. 66k subs dude! Congrats. I’ll start wearing my GoPro again once I start getting up to speed. Hopefully soon.
Only if you're not wearing long sleeves or pants. I always cover up when riding anyways. Dirt will also tear you up too if you crash, it's a part of the sport unfortunately.
I was just going to go on the next video after yours but when you did the sponsor plug (insta 360, there did it again for ya.) and you did the blessing. Its true, astroturf does make the best surface for motox, trust me form experience its all great until your track gets busy, then you have to replace it every 12 weeks. Its great for a reason, it grips like hell, but was never designed to take that kind of a beating so wears out like wild fire. Trust me astro turf tracks are a not viable in the long run
I’m curious to see how it does once they get super busy, but based on their current influx, it’s held up. John has a ton of extra turf so maintenance is a lot less than with a ripper and water truck. Imagine the cost reduction only having to roll out old used turf vs replacing 2 different diesel vehicles parts. 🙏
@@plutus205 that happens when you don’t wear long sleeves and pants, which people wear anyways when riding dirt bikes. Football is short sleeves. If people are afraid of rug burns, moto isn’t for them 🤣
Just like in other sports, the difference between turf and dirt/grass is great, and not in a good way for turf. Better not crash, the injuries will be much worse.
Wear your gear, long sleeves and pants and you’ll be better off. Dress for the slide not the ride 🙌 Most turf injuries are from players wearing cleats and doing pivot drills, causing joint injuries due to the grip. Turf burn is from wearing short sleeves and landing on exposed skin. Honestly, it’s much better off as a moto surface than a football playing field. There’s much less risk for sure, but Moto is inherently dangerous as it is. If you fall from 20’ up in the air, it’s going to hurt no matter the riding surface.
The turf is pretty tough. I'm sure over time he will have to patch up spots, but it seems to have held up pretty well over the last year that he's been open. It's definitely a cool concept, but the turf is not easy to roll out, as John told me in private. He said it's super heavy and once you lay it down, it's really difficult to move.
@jestonsendsit what I'm curious about is could it hold up to 4 motos with 40 riders each? Just blows my mind that it would even hold up to one bike! But could see advantages as far as drainage and traction.
@@sissywalker1955 that’s a good question. I’m sure new turf would be super resilient. This is old turf and still holds up from mild riding from many bike types. I’d imagine it could handle it, but there’s an important factor that installation is a ton of labor and takes a lot of time. It’s up front time and money. It’s not as easy as building a dirt track short term to tear it back down in a week, this is more of a long term strategy. I think doing a flow park was smart since it won’t have thousands of bikes going full throttle all the time, it also mitigates wear and tear doing it this way vs a race track.
This place is perfect if you have a 110 or a pitted out 85, but I've noticed the Ebike community really loves it because the turf allows for less drag and maximum boost off the jumps. the pit bike course on an ebike is where it's at.
I’ve fallen on fluffy dirt and it’s nice until the ruts set in. The main trade off here is not landing in a hole from a 450 landing on the gas. Everything is linear. A fresh groomed fluffy track is nice. But let’s be real, that’s only for the first hour of riding at any track. Here this is consistent throughout the day.
Man I wish this was near me. Massachusetts stinks. My 7yr old rips on his 50cc pitbike. But sadly my state claims he isn’t allowed to ride until he’s 10. Which under my supervision on my private property should be fine but apparently isn’t. Seems like dumb politics. It’s my insurance and my liability. But it’s a no go. He’s doing real good and wants to get into racing. But the only legal place he can ride is at the track. Well he needs to get his basics dialed before I want him ripping in a pack. Just a bummer and a fail I feel in my state. As a parent I’m aware of the child abilities and limitations.
Here’s me thinking America is the land of the free, man that sucks. I can go out in the woods or down to the dunes with my boys 6/10yrs old all day no hassles 🏴
The grass would be all torn up in the first hour. This lasts longer and is low maintenance, but I agree the aesthetic is better if you’re going form over function, but this blends the two with mild compromise. Thinking from an ownership perspective, this is more cost effective since you don’t need heavy machinery to constantly rebuild the jumps after a heavy riding day and you don’t have to worry when it rains since it doesn’t affect the surface. Most motocross tracks struggle because their machines are constantly breaking down from doing heavy earth moving every week. This eliminates that overhead cost and allows John to keep the entry fee at $20 whereas most tracks cost $30-$45. Overall, the concept is quite cool, but there’s always a compromise. I think this allows a good entry for people looking to get into motocross without fronting the expensive entry fee.
@jestonsendsit its OK u went the modern (easy) route... actually takes time and effort to grow grass on a track... still a few of them around... I ride one every weekend... heaven on earth...
