One cool modded one comes with the "Hazardous Reactors" mod, it's a "Crisis warhead" (you shove it into a normal warhead) it explodes and pulverizes anything around it, capable of one shoting anything in the game, the problem is, to get it you need to do a "Dry" (no water in the room) meltdown of your reactor with a Super-Critical Fulgarium fuel rod, which irradiates and instantly kills anything around it (without pucs) so yeah, pretty balanced I'd say. Great video as always.
Hm, the need for a high-qual fulgraium rod is prob the biggest counter-balance for the crisis. Otherwise, wats stopping someone from taking a pirate sub and just nuking their reactor and fixing it over and over again?

Thinking about the strength of the Railgun Shells relative to what each require, it's actually pretty interesting how good the Canister Shells are. They're relatively cheap to re-fill, so it's kind of hard to see a downside for their strength, but that downside is actually loading time. If you need to fire off your railgun, constantly, the Mechanic just being able to make a normal shell, run it, and load it while the next is crafting is super valuable when time is of the essence. Meanwhile, with the Canister Shells, someone has to remove it and run it to the fabricator and back. Just needing to remove it and take it to the fabricator effectively doubles (I think it's more like makes it take 1.4x longer, since the mechanic is still running back to the fabricator after loading the first shell, anyways) how long it takes to reload a Canister Shell.
This is exactly what I needed. It seems like the flak cannon can out-damage the railgun in most cases (obviously not with nukes). But it's good to know that the canister shell can be a viable and extremely cheap / efficient alternative with each shell only requiring a single lead to reload. Thanks for the video!
Comparing to another heavy weapons it's unreasonably expensive if you're using common or physicorium shells, even with warheads, while nuclear shells are abnormally cheap to uranium: you don't need it for fuel rods, if you're not planning to deplete them or use as ammo for Fissile Accelerator, because you would rather use thorium or fulgurium, and fertilizer is not essential consumable.
Canister shells are insane early game. Being able to translate 1 lead into 1 rail gun shot is huge. Lead is cheap and plentiful and at alot of outposts
flak - best choise, railgun - one of the worst weapons (cheap shell? but you will need lots of them. nuclear shell top damage? require more then any other ammo, need to be used on large creature or meet the loss like 80% of potential damage and probably gonna nuke your own self). Railgun needs buff like collect some of used regular shells for reuse, self-destruction timer or explode if enemy near instead of dirrect hit or auto-targeting, increase amount of fragments from canisters or lowering cost of pruduction or increasing quantity of production (2 lead in 1 use to kill some creatures in small area? - regular coilgun with standart ammo would be a better choise for the cost) P.S. about double coilgun: explosive ammo is good, but has a few shots and can be used as regular only in lategame, while flak cannon can handle early, middle and end game without much resource draining, perhaps depleated and piarcing ammo need a little buff.
Ah Railgun it's funny you can litteraly put any explosive in it even stun and emp grenadej my favorite type of railgun is from modded one, heavy Railgun expensive to make but it does worth the mats although the lack of variety of the bullet (only 3 so far) kinda make me prefer stick with the normal one.

Ah yes, i remember the day when i first launched a rail gun loaded with a dirty bomb straight into the hall of a poor, unsuspecting pirate warship. Needless to say they enjoy the crew now enjoy their new life with the fishes.
uex is better than frag grenade in structural damage but in creature damage uex = frag grenade. C4 twice as good as uex and has better radius. I will make more videos on this topic
heard a rumor somewhere that if you put clown equipment like the outfits or bike horns in a shell and shoot it, it provides psychosis when used against an enemy crew. no idea if true.
I was curious how the explosive interaction works with higher quality C-4, UE-X and IC-4 (good quality, masterwork etc.), because when we play we always craft the highest quality C-4 we can, and if it works in the situation with the Moloch it would probably kill in 3 shots instead of 4, Just beating out the explosive coilgun rounds right?
Have you done a video testing frag grenades or similar as a railgun payload? Most of the grenades are slightly redundant, but frag is rather spicy by virtue of how heavily it bleed procs. Not sure if it'd be competitive compared to canister though.
I just hate railguns because they take so much managment and have to reload after every shot, i just want to slap a box of ammo in the loader and go to town
Unstable N is the same as regular, it difference is that unstable automatically degrades on its own until it explodes. Think of it like a time bomb, except the timer starts as soon as you craft it. *And there is no way to stop it.*
