Neglecting values that you already have is the path to misery. Breathing, legs, hands, fingers, eyes, ears, father, mother, sibling, and more. Look inside
“It isn’t valuable, it was just difficult to get” I really like that. Helps put things in perspective and makes you realise just cos you didn’t get what you were hoping for doesn’t mean you won’t be happy in life.
I agree , if it’s something you needed to change in order to live longer & you never did until you nearly died that cuts deep, but also if you continue to not do the one thing you need to live longer, that tempts fate
The best thing I learned from my late grandmother was to make a distinction between objects and people. People are not things. What is valuable is our humanity. People ought to not treat each other as mere objects, but instead as invaluable subjects, all of whom need to work together and care for one another. My mother has a slightly different view, but of course I pay no heed to neglect of my grandmother's view. 😂
Just happened to be thinking about this this morning over coffee. I am someone who’s decided to take things easy and forgo “the grind” to achieve status, greatness, etc. Will I be getting the car, the watch, the monthly trips to Europe, the girls, the power and influence? No. But I will be getting my happiness, my family, my own sense of satisfaction, and my peace. That’s far more valuable to me than anything I can buy.
The grind mentality makes me give up on life, grinding is not fun. But you can do the same activity but experience it in a new way that's refreshing and enticing.
@@innerinsights224I hear that but sometimes we grind for the wrong reasons or it might be the right reasons but we’re doing it all wrong so the grind makes us crash but we all need to learn how to do what we need to do in a healthy way and then everything will be natural

I think we’re all in very different journeys. Some want those things and work hard and get them . I have found the harder I work the less I get - nothing seemed to work out the way I wanted my life to go , yet when I surrender and let the flow of life take hold it opens many door and takes me to places in the almost opposite direction . I read a great book called the surrender experiment and it changed the way I see it all . The world has existed for billions of years it’s evolved re grown and had no problem doing it on its own . I surrender now and life unfolds beautifully.
This is actually insightful, meaningful, and something that many people probably need to hear. Right here at this point in my life, I needed to hear it. Thank you.

Make sure you're not always conflating difficult with worthwhile. Some things that are worth while they're enjoyable. In fact if you resolved one of the mysteries in life you found that following your passions is both worthwhile and not difficult.

I've always understood this, even as a child. For me the trigger has always been diamonds. They seem valuable, but to me serve almost no function in my life. They may be rare, precious, and pretty, but other than being a good abrasive for cutting things, I have no use for them. That thought opened up countless other doors for me which I have been opening for about 40 years.
Chris is a really chill guy but I swear I haven't heard him say an original thought. Just regurgitation stuff he's read or quotes other people have told him.
I went to college with him. He's come a long way. We're all on our own journey. I have a lot of respect for the person he's become compared to the boy I first met; who was a hollow shell. He'd be quite justified to criticise me with an equal measure - although my comment isn't intended to be derisory in any way.
Money is a tool to create and provide for yourself and the people you care about who give you life & meaning. Money and cars are worthless without meaning & purpose. Everything in life comes down to serving those closest to you and working towards a common goal.
