- YEAAAH GUYS, how about another amazing video? 😮
This video, as the name suggests, is nothing less than a 100% TAS of Super Mario Advance 2: the Super Mario World of Gameboy Advance! In this TAS I get ALL 96 EXITS and all DRAGON COINS from ALL LEVELS, completing 100% of the game in less than 1 and a half hours!
As far as I know, the previous record was held by ISM, made in 2009 ( www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6307625 ) and this TAS is just over 1 minute faster.
This TAS is the result of several months of work, however, I interrupted it a few times, so overall it should take about 1 month of pure work. It was an extremely fun TAS to do!
Super Mario Advance 2 is a very well-done version of Super Mario World for the Gameboy Advance. I confess that I didn't know and had never played this version, but as soon as I played it, it was love at first sight 😆🖤
There are several differences between this GBA version of SMW and the SNES version. Among them are (forgive me if I forget something):
🔴 The GBA version only has 1 run button. Therefore, it is not possible to rotate the cape while holding an item, for example, or rotate the cape while flying at any time. To do this, it is necessary to rotate the cape in specific frames so that Mario does not lose his flight.
🔴 In the SNES version, as soon as you complete the special world, the colors on the map, the shells and some other sprites change. In the GBA version, this only happens after you complete all 96 exits (nothing happens when completing Special World).
🔴 Several glitches don't work in the GBA, including block duplication, double grab, holding an item on Yoshi, stun glitch, etc. The GBA version is somewhat limited in terms of glitches and you will feel this in TAS.
🔴 The GBA version has a cutscene for when the player collects all 96 exits and also a cutscene for when the player collects all the dragon coins. You will see it at the end of the video (you cannot skip these cutscenes).
🔴 The GBA version contains Dragon Coins in all levels, including Castles and Ghost Houses, with the exception of Switch Palaces.
🔴 The life limit on the GBA is 999 lives, while on the SNES it is only 99 lives.
There are a few more differences, but they are more technical details that are not as relevant.
NOTE: I used the Japanese version to do this TAS because it was the only version that had a lua script available and also because it is about 1 second faster at loading the title screen.
NOTE 2: There are several improvements in this TAS that I unfortunately discovered after having already done it, mainly a zip on the turn blocks in Star World 1 (it's possible to do it, but not in the same way as the SNES).

I already exploded this version of SMW too 😆: th-cam.com/video/900ZI8-VC0k/w-d-xo.html
-Enters Donut Plains 2 with 11 lives
-Exits with 45
I googled "Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World all exits" and it gave me this video as a top result, This video still helped a lot and was an enjoyable watch. Great job on it!
Glad to hear it!
Incredible how fast you work on and finish these TASes. Awesome!
Thank you very much!
Very amazing. I love all the tricks with the cape.
Thank you! Cheers!
This is gonna be amazing
It's a shame that there will never be a 100% TAS for the game Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
Never say never 😅
Good video and speedrun 😊
Glad you enjoyed!
Waiting for this😊
When flying the cape with Yoshi. It looks like Yoshi is flutter jumping.
FINALLY A SMA2 100% TAS.
Excellent
I wish there was a commentator explaining the Tricks
Hype !
Yes!
Now you're just showing off. :)
Have you plan to submit it Igor ? Easy GBA TAS of the year
Probably not. I'm too lazy for that and TASvideos is not a good strategy for anyone who is growing a TH-cam channel 😅
@@IgorOliveira666 yeah probably not.. but the site is the reference for TAS like that. However, continue your good work 👍🏼
gg
This is an impressive run. But have you think about doing a run without tas?
Thanks man! But i don't know how to speedrun without TAS, I'm horrible at playing in real time lol
@@IgorOliveira666most people know how to rta speedrun when they tas damn im surprised you learned how to tas this good without knowing how to rta speedrun.
How did you get the red Yoshi around 16:58?
A glitch called Yoshification
Legal
Will you do a glitchfest version of this?
Maybe so, but it will probably be a "cheatfest" because this game is very limited in terms of glitches and it wouldn't make sense for me to do a glitchfest in this version showing the same glitches as the SNES version.
Can you make TAS with Luigi?
Soon
Why did you have to force the video to be 16:9? It looks better in the original GBA aspect ratio. TH-cam lets you use any aspect ratio, so there's no problem with using it.
GBA is 3:2 (240x160), not 16:9. So the video is stretched by about 18%.
It's not as bad as stretching 4:3 to 16:9 (33%), but still stretched noticeably. About as bad as stretching 8:7 (NES/SNES) to 4:3, which would be 17%.
None of the Nintendo handhelds are 16:9, unless Switch is counted as a handheld.
Oh lol so maybe it was in 16:9 because of my monitor. Anyway, I think the video wasn't bad to watch in 16:9. I just don't know if it was bad on the cell phone.
Great run. I could reroute world 7 where you do the final fortress then enter castle 7 right before entering King Koopa's back door. This way you can skip the cutscene for clearing castle 7 which can save at least 15 seconds.
I didn't understand very well, but I didn't know you could skip the castle cutscene lol
@@IgorOliveira666that cutscene can be skipped if last exit don't about to ask for save
why Japan language ? ? ⚠️
Description
TAS is born in japan
Are there glitchess in this? Lol
SMA2 is very limited when it comes to glitches
I'ma do glitch in my emulator.
