  • I'm curious where I can apply DTF to other materials. In this video I spend some time DTF printing to a 4" x 4" ceramic coaster.

@@mikekiske Nothing on bugs, I think the main problem is the press I use is flat. I guess I could try using the mug press with a DTF transfer attached to see what it does.

Hello, fellow new ricoma user here, was wondering what time and heat temperature you used...trying to make porcelain sublimation coffee mugs with no luck yet...ive tried a few different times and temperatures. Not many videos I've come across with Ricoma products. However, I did have partial successes with transfer, but unfortunately, it washed right off...any help would be appreciated greatly...or to know it's a NO go. Thanks and more videos please 😊

Hi Christina, are you trying to sublimate or DTF transfer to a ceramic mug? For my ceramic tile 4" x 4" I press the transfer to the tile for 15 seconds at 320 degrees, and only a single press. I also spray the coaster with a matte spray lacquer that seals the print to the coaster. Are you using a mug press with the DTF print wrapped around the mug? @custommadebyus thank you for the response...yes using a mug press however I have the luminaris 200 with the 2step paper not sure if that makes a difference ? I have also tried the magic brand 6.2 hard surface transfer paper and no success yet...however with the ricoma 2 step I have also been using a carrier sheet over the transfer and did a second press to seal...but as far as porcelain mugs it washes right off for me and may not be suitable for mugs as advertised...I will keep an eye out for any tip/tricks ...and definitely if I'm successful I will share. Thank you, much appreciated . Thank you for the Facebook invitation, guess I'm going to have to sign back up.

Do you not do a 2nd press? That probably would have kept it from peeling

I've always only ever done a single press. It locks it in pretty well. My problem was I didn't tape it to the coaster and it shifted when I brought the platen down on it. The second coaster I did came out great and still using it on my desk today!

@custommadebyus I know the shirts and stuff need 2 presses with dtf. I tried coasters one time and it looked funny lol. Do you seal yours?

@@mindyketchum307 I use a clear matte acrylic spray paint to seal the coaster once it's dried for about 24 hours.
