This really helped. Im in the same boat, had the calling to join because I wanted to be the man who comes out the other end of those accomplishments.
However, that's not worth sacrificing that time with my wife and kids who need me.
And the accomplishment that comes with being a man who is there for them and builds them up is more important.
    Thanks for this.

He should have gotten involved with the State Patrol. Get hired by a police agency. They are Para Military type organization.

I was single, young and enlisted in the Marine Corps and it was the best time of my life. The married dudes lives SUCKED!!! Being broke with all your boys in the barracks is not the same as being on wick, broke AF with kids at home. Different world! Not nearly as much fun. Dudes 28 with 2 kids, he needs to do College and take care of his damn family. He's gonna be 10 years older than the privates he's gonna be peers with.

I was enlisted in the Navy as an aviation electronics technician. I just got picked up to be a pilot, going to OCS in November, I know that the physical requirements are significantly lower than any spec ops job, but would you think that the ranger or seal pdf would be a worthwhile plan to get a badass run time? Mostly doing it for myself

It’s easy to talk but harder to do. When he loses everything and is by himself and those thoughts creep in and they will. They will kick his ass up and down the block 24 hours a day. Go get a degree then make moves. Set the family up. Not gonna lie but he don’t look like the type of dude that can take shooting dudes in the face. Officers cut off is 32 in the army he better get that degree done in 2-3 show us how bad you want it. Get it done put in the work.

Honestly dude needs to go bang out college in 3 years and get a 3.6-4.0 then get in some military airplanes if that's still a possibility, imo.. Idk if enlisted is the right path for him with 2 kids.

@@richardmercado6285 ha.. landscaping, not seeing your family.. DUDE.. your kid gets ill or injured and goes to the hospital, you don't just drop your rake and head home. You might be able to call and wish them well, you ever been stuck in an elevator? Imagine you are stuck in an elevator thats on fire and no one cares, thats what it will be like.. Your wife hasn't seen you in six months and when you call she's out with her new "friend" from work and her phone died.. just think about those two situations.. Then know that some other dude is going to be banging your wife and raising your kids, sleep on that and then wake up and go back to landscaping and be grateful
