Not gonna lie John. Tokyo for being the biggest city in the world, is dropping the ball when it comes to celebrating anything now a days. I love Tokyo to death but, it needs to take queues from cities such as London. Their 2025 fireworks were amazing! Celebrations this year reminded of small city get togethers in America.
@@ATOMIK_DUNKZ well Tokyo doesn't really need to try hard. You can give the grandest New Year celebrations to the likes of London, Dubai, Hong Kong, so on. Tokyo can if they want to but the government feels they don't have to as evident to the cancellation of Shibuya countdown. The cons outweighs the pros. So better celebrate it solemnly.
Interesting perspective ^_^ For locals, Japanese living in Japan, they don’t care what the west thinks about their customs to change it 😂 New year is like Christmas, not a big party like the west. There are cultural foods to eat. People go home to see family not stay in cities. Most people out here are foreign tourists and a mix of early Japanese for New Year prayer. This year Shinjuku’s TMG building had some fireworks and Odaiba had some. There’s some movement on that perception of the west though, don’t expect it to try to compete. It’s a different way to celebrate. Seeing the morning sunrise is more important I think than counting down to midnight :) They aren’t dropping the ball 😂 they just don’t care so much and people don’t travel far for new year typically. The hotels are filled anyway 😂 I bet there’s a % of people who want a peaceful new year too.

All Brits will be praying at our Temples across the country 🤔 Our Temples are called Public Houses 🙄 And they will be on their knees praying after a skinfull! I'll be on my sofa with a Cider, probably nodded off before 12pm. 😂
