I feel less safe on small planes. You hear more tragic ends for those aircrafts. It was surreal and sad to hear about his death (plane crashed) on the news while I happened to walk by even more so since he just lost his father the year before and only retired shortly around that time.
Having no radio doesn't mean that you can't do a go-around when there is an obstruction on the runway. The pilot ahead may not see what's behind him, while the pilot at the second aircraft following the other plane can clearly see what's in front of him.
Electronics out doesn't mean engine out. Perfectly good engine, they don't need a battery to stay running. He's under VFR (Visual Flight Rules) and even with his radio out, he's still perfectly legal to be flying at that airport. Doesn't even constitute an emergency. Mind blowing how terrible his aeronautical decision making was. Glad everyone is okay, but holy cow. He's lucky he didn't murder the other guy.
Even if you lose all power in that Cessna or Piper, the engine will continue to run normally since power comes from the magnetos and not from the battery, the pilot had 2 options, Go around and land safely when the runway is clear or land on the taxi way. This was very Preventable.

I'm sorry but I used to fly and this pilot is an idiot. He risked everyone in his plane and the one he crashed into. From what I can see, I don't see any plane on the taxiway and he could of landed there or on the grass so he wouldn't hit the other plane. Landing on the grass is not really recommended because I have seen guys crashed but it is still better than avoiding a crash with another airplane.
Did he have an engine trouble as well? Why didn't he do a go around?
It's not very clear what was wrong
Blake wasn't involved in a "paraglider accident", he was flying a paramotor. Why do you news people always screw up the facts? Do you even know what a glider is?
That’s what the media serve up by the hour, misinformation
This is the reason why they should install horns into planes. This right here!
Please tell me you're joking. No seriously.
Inexcusable
No more small aircrafts for you my friend
I feel less safe on small planes. You hear more tragic ends for those aircrafts. Personally knew a man who operated a small plane after retirement so he could help people that needed chemo treatment get to their appointments that were far distance. It was surreal and sad to hear about his death (plane crashed) on the news while I happened to walk by even more so since he just lost his father the year before and only retired shortly around that time.
Never flying with this guy lol
Having no radio doesn't mean that you can't do a go-around when there is an obstruction on the runway. The pilot ahead may not see what's behind him, while the pilot at the second aircraft following the other plane can clearly see what's in front of him.
He didn’t have to lay in the plane immediately because of electronics, that’s an inexperienced pallet that caused the worse situation
why can't people just keep their feet on the ground?
Electronics out doesn't mean engine out. Perfectly good engine, they don't need a battery to stay running. He's under VFR (Visual Flight Rules) and even with his radio out, he's still perfectly legal to be flying at that airport. Doesn't even constitute an emergency. Mind blowing how terrible his aeronautical decision making was. Glad everyone is okay, but holy cow. He's lucky he didn't murder the other guy.
Mr. Reed just retire bro😂
Flake just need to stay grounded. I'm happy everyone is ok.
Don't get on an airplane with that guy.
Crazy, good thing everyone is ok.
How many to stay on the ground?
But why didn't he land in the grass? did he have to hit another plane with all the space available
Even if you lose all power in that Cessna or Piper, the engine will continue to run normally since power comes from the magnetos and not from the battery, the pilot had 2 options, Go around and land safely when the runway is clear or land on the taxi way. This was very Preventable.
Why do they not have a secondary radio that is not connected to the aircraft power grid?
An electrical failure. No indication of fire. Just a regular old electrical failure on what appeared to be a severe clear vfr day.
Panic gets the best of us but Lord have mercy this seems 💯 avoidable
So he survived a paragliding incident just to get back up to the sky?
Wife: hello Allstate, I'd like to increase my husband's life insurance policy
Imagine having a close call with a paraglider and then another with a plane. That passenger needs to stop flying 😅
“First time I’ve been in a small aircraft since last time” Maybe that’s a sign.
so his engine wasn't working or what? just because he had an electronics failure doesn't mean he had to land right then.
Engine was working perfectly, he just had terrible ADM.
@@CramcrumBrewbringeralongside ADM (or apart of it?) he made no effort to identify any hazardous attitudes and remedy them. He obviously panicked, and because he missed so many things that even a student pilot would know, I expect his license to be suspended, possibly in perpetuity.
That’s insane
is there a reason they didn't tell the plane in front to go around?
He lost all radio 📻📟
@@Palmstreet-u7x ohhh I didn't realize it was the other aircraft that lost the radio.
@matthew78917 but what I don't understand is how did the traffic control voice message come onto this video if he was speaking to the plane ✈️🛫 already landing 🛬🛬🛬
Unless this is the airports channel
Pilot in trail should def have his license either pulled or temporarily suspended.
1:27 sir you know what this means, STOP flying. You’re the unlucky one. Do yourself a favor and just stay on the ground.
land on the grass, stupid! I did that when a Cessna rolled onto the Active when I was at 200 ft on final in a Grob sailplane. You shoulda seen his face when i was abeam.
Could have even landed on the taxiway.
Electronics gone radio out , guess he forgot to use his eyes 😂
THAT'S WHY YOU ALWAYS LEAVE THE FLYING TO THE PROS
