Hi Adrian, yes I too am curious on the table as well, would just like to know what context you used, I looked at the history of the S&P 500 between those years and did find that some 20 year periods did lose. Loving your content though, haven’t been able to find very many Canadian teachers in investing, especially for beginners, so thank you so much!

You got it Jenn! I have a WHOLE PLAYLIST of videos on my favourite Canadian Dividend Stocks and ETFs to buy in your TFSA so check it out! =) th-cam.com/play/PLj8bU3AuW2qFD4sCsCxXdaAADlyiP8bqB.html
Your video got me to subscribed here because how you explain everything I don’t want to miss anything. You got me hooked and informed with your videos 👍🏾 thank you 🙏
Let me start with saying your videos are great and very easy to understand. Im very new to this channel and I do not know much about stocks yet. After listening to some of your videos, i have a question, can you please explain how is this good when you cant make money when you are young and can use it to have a better life but instead you will make some money after you are retired and old and dont need much money anyway. Thanks
Adrian you have the best and easiest learning tool for beginners. Thank you for sharing such important information. What would you tell a person who has $140,000.00 that needs to be invested for income. This person has zero dollars in their TFSA and is 60 yrs young. Help!
Thank you so much for those kind words! And wow! That is a great problem to have!! 😆 First thing for sure would be to max out your TFSA. If you have never opened a TFSA you will have $69,500 of room right now, with another $6,000 coming in 2021. Check out my stock pick videos to see what stocks and ETFs you should put in your TFSA, mainly Canadian dividend assets =) th-cam.com/play/PLj8bU3AuW2qFD4sCsCxXdaAADlyiP8bqB.html Now you have $70K left, decide how much you should put into a savings account for emergencies and daily spending. I recommend a high interest savings account with EQ Bank or Alterna Bank or Motive Financial, they all offer about 2% interest rate on savings. Whatever is left over, will have to be invested in your margin account. You will have to pay taxes on all capital gains and dividends in your margin account that's why it's important to max out your TFSA first. In your situation, an RRSP isn't super useful since you will have to close your RRSP when you turn 71 and you will be taxed on those withdrawals.... This is a huge question and impossible to answer in a small comment but I hope this was able to help somewhat =)
I love Age of Empires so much!!! Check out my 10K celebration video where I give a bookshelf tour of all my awesome video games behind me =) th-cam.com/video/hgCxbdcRRqw/w-d-xo.html
@@CanadianTShirt That's awesome dude!! I grew up playing age of empires 2 and I don't know how many hours I've put into the campaigns. It also taught me so much about history that it became another passion of mine. By the way have you played the definitive edition?
I wouldn't say quite perfect.... the audio and video quality are so bad... back then I was just filming with my cell phone! 😆 But I'm happy to hear that the content is still helpful! =)
Much appreciated as always. Loved every minute. Some friendly feedback: you might want to check the mike setup because it keeps popping on low frequencies :)
Thank you so much for this amazing video. Do you think you would be able to make a video highlighting some initial investments you had made when you were a young investor? Going in to detail with things like how much you invested and why that particular amount, and what made you select specific stocks to buy into.
James, you read my mind! For sure! I wanted to finish my investment series, breaking down bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and GICs in the next two videos and then I was going to make a video outlining my personal investing journey of how I started and another video actually showing you guys my portfolio and why I chose the investments that I did. I know that seeing someone else's portfolio would have been really helpful for me when I got started. Stay tuned! =)
That's a great idea! I prefer index fund ETFs versus mutual funds since they are much much cheaper in terms of the annual fee (sometimes over 20 times cheaper). Check out the Best Canadian ETFs to hold in your TFSA =) th-cam.com/video/hXrN5EVCp8Y/w-d-xo.html

Welcome to the channel and thank you for supporting me! I just used Apple since it's a very clear and well-known example of the benefit of investing in the LONG TERM versus the short term fluctuations =)
Riocan is paying %10 dividends right now.... Should I avoid investing? Seems high, but I'm sure they'll bounce back after the crisis. New to stocks btw
I usually don't care about the # of shares, it's more how much money I have. If I have $1000 to invest, I simply divide $1000 by the share price to determine # of shares. However, if my plan is to setup a DRIP, then I perform a calculation to see how many shares I need to buy to qualify for a DRIP. Check out my DRIP Explained video where I go over this calculation =) th-cam.com/video/ouyXwaTOfhU/w-d-xo.html
I'll be making a whole video about Questwealth portfolios. I personally don't use it since I like to have total control of my investments and I enjoy doing the research and making the decisions. However, if you want a purely hands-off approach where you can just put money in and let them invest on your behalf, Questwealth or WealthSimple roboinvesting is a GREAT option and it will be MUCH cheaper than most Mutual Funds at the banks which also advertise the hands-off benefits. I hope that helps! =)
I accidentally stumbled on your channel looking for investing videos, and I say your video is the most informational I have seen especially for those who are beginners or have zero knowledge. Hi Adrian, thank you so much. I've learned a lot from your videos. But there is a question coming up to my mind is why are huge companies such as TD and BMO, still so interested in attracting this type of investment? As you said, they still get profit no matter what.
Hey Suri! Well these companies have such a strong reputation of paying dividends for hundreds of years! They would never want to risk that reputation by cutting their dividends!
Or do you mean, why doe these huge companies still sell shares on the stock market? Once a company goes public, it's hard to go back and become private again. Unless one person would be able to buy the majority of the shares but that would take tens of billions of dollars!
Apples are the one fruit that do not grow from seed. Orchards are built from grafting root stock. Apple seeds are not variety based genetically, they contain all apple genetics. Only an bitter crabapple tree can grow from an apple seed.. aside from that analogy..loved the video! Lol

Question: was that table showing gain or loss of stock market investments 2:18 including losses from inflation?
Stumbled across your videos today, liking everyone as I watch them. Love them.
Great advise Adrian! As always!
Thanks for watching! As always!
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks buddy! I'm glad you found it helpful! =)
@@CanadianTShirt Hello , I just received a massage regarding my account opens with Questrade. I used the link that you were provided and I have $50 free trading. I don’t know anything about stock market but I will keep watching your videos.

Awww thanks Harpreet! That really means a lot! If you're going to binge all of my videos, I suggest watching my playlists, especially the "Millennial Investing Guide" I've order the videos in an intuitive and easy-to-follow way. Thanks for supporting my channel! =)
Amazing synopsis on this subject! Can't wait to learn more. Very new to this as a young professional.

Wow I was interested in bonds but I might have to wait for that video or search your other videos once this one is finished.
You won't have to wait at all! I have a video about Bonds right here! =)

Thanks
Thank you!!
My pleasure! I'm happy the video was helpful! =)
Your videos are super informative and helpful! Thank you :)
Thank you! I really appreciate that and I'm glad that my videos are informative! 😁
First thing for sure would be to max out your TFSA. If you have never opened a TFSA you will have $69,500 of room right now, with another $6,000 coming in 2021. Check out my stock pick videos to see what stocks and ETFs you should put in your TFSA, mainly Canadian dividend assets =)
th-cam.com/play/PLj8bU3AuW2qFD4sCsCxXdaAADlyiP8bqB.html
Now you have $70K left, decide how much you should put into a savings account for emergencies and daily spending.
Great tips thanks
Thanks Dean! I'm happy to hear that! =)
Thank you for your video Adrian!!!
I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know if there are any topics you'd like me to cover next =)
Amazing video bro, also you are a legend for having age of empires 2 in the background 👊🔥😂
I love Age of Empires so much!!! Check out my 10K celebration video where I give a bookshelf tour of all my awesome video games behind me =)

@@CanadianTShirt That's awesome dude!! I grew up playing age of empires 2 and I don't know how many hours I've put into the campaigns. It also taught me so much about history that it became another passion of mine. By the way have you played the definitive edition?
Perfect video!!!
I wouldn't say quite perfect.... the audio and video quality are so bad... back then I was just filming with my cell phone! 😆
But I'm happy to hear that the content is still helpful! =)
Much appreciated as always. Loved every minute.
Some friendly feedback: you might want to check the mike setup because it keeps popping on low frequencies :)
Thanks Martin! Ya I recently got a new microphone in my two latest videos with a pop filter and I think it's made a big difference so far =)
Stay tuned! =)
Very useful information. What is your take investing savings such as TFSA in index fund instead.
That's a great idea! I prefer index fund ETFs versus mutual funds since they are much much cheaper in terms of the annual fee (sometimes over 20 times cheaper). Check out the Best Canadian ETFs to hold in your TFSA =)

Can you please make a video with dividend growth stocks? Or how to find emerging stocks/etfs?
You bet I will! I will be making a whole series of videos on growth stocks, dividend growth stocks and growth ETFs =)
I joimed today. Lol did you reference an apple because itnfroesnherenin Canada?
Welcome to the channel and thank you for supporting me! I just used Apple since it's a very clear and well-known example of the benefit of investing in the LONG TERM versus the short term fluctuations =)
Riocan is paying %10 dividends right now.... Should I avoid investing? Seems high, but I'm sure they'll bounce back after the crisis. New to stocks btw
Too good !
Thanks Debraj! I'm happy to hear it was helpful! =)
Amazing! ty for the value :)
Thank you Jeremy! I'm glad it was useful! 😁
How do you know / determine how much units of a stock you should buy? I know its different for each stock or etf but whats a good rule to follow?
I usually don't care about the # of shares, it's more how much money I have. If I have $1000 to invest, I simply divide $1000 by the share price to determine # of shares. However, if my plan is to setup a DRIP, then I perform a calculation to see how many shares I need to buy to qualify for a DRIP. Check out my DRIP Explained video where I go over this calculation =)

Hello. Thank you so much for your videos. What are your thoughts on Questwealth portfolios? Thanks!
Canadian in a T-Shirt Thanks so much for your insights! Looking forward to that video :)
Fantastic!
I'm glad I could help! =)
I accidentally stumbled on your channel looking for investing videos, and I say your video is the most informational I have seen especially for those who are beginners or have zero knowledge. For beginners like me, would you recommend using Questrade or Wealth Simple? I know there are so many videos about this topic but would want to hear your thought about it. Thank you again for this wonderful channel!

good job
Thank you!
Unless one person would be able to buy the majority of the shares but that would take tens of billions of dollars!
nice job
Thank you!
2:22am, man you are amazing
Thank you Alan! 😄
Hey Canadian in aT shirt, I saw in your previous video that you’re getting 2% from your high interest savings account. I know where you can get 4.5%.
Yes well those were years ago when we were in a low interest period.... different story now!
Now there are several banks offering promotional interest rates above 5% so shop around!
@@CanadianTShirt Lol, I missed that detail. Yeah absolutely, one can get much better rates today.
Apples are the one fruit that do not grow from seed. Orchards are built from grafting root stock. Apple seeds are not variety based genetically, they contain all apple genetics. Only an bitter crabapple tree can grow from an apple seed.. aside from that analogy..loved the video! Lol
hahaha and this is why I should focus on financial advice and stay away from botany. I stand corrected, thank you! 😅
